I Know Ray Is Coming Back This Season, But....

26 posts in this topic

I already really miss watching him play. Even though our D is doing great without him playing I just miss watching the greatness of 52 in the middle every play. I feel its sort of preparing me for the day Ray does leave for good..... It still hurts though :(
McClain and Ellerbe have been playing great the last 4 weeks though.... Im really impressed with McClain stepping up, its huge for our D. Suggs also, but you kinda expect Suggs to do good. I wonder if the Ravens are even gonna try and draft a MLB in the first round with the way he's been playing.

But anyway even with those 4 games Lewis has missed he still leads our team in tackles somehow lol. He could of had 100 again this year if he would have stayed healthy, but oh well. The Ravens are winning because of what Ray has taught our LBs over the years. His legacy carries on through them.

He should hopefully be back next week on sunday night @ the chargers.

Anyone else really miss watching 52? ........that it hurts lol

I miss Ray and we will miss him when he decides to hang up the cleats, but he has taught his boys well and I think the Ravens will keep on, keep n on.

From what I have pieced together the impression I have gotten is that Lewis could have played against both Cleveland and Indy but they were holding him out to give him more time to rest and make sure he was absolutely 100 percent healed. I think everyone felt with the lackluster offenses those two teams had it would be no big deal for him to sit. At least that was my impression. I may be wrong though.

I have actually been wondering this. I have had a MLB penciled in all year, but even if ray retires this year, I am not sure we go MLB round 1. Ellerbe and Mcclain have been good.

I still think we could draft a MLB, but only because its such a deep draft a the position. If our young guys keep playing well, I could see us going C round 1 to get a replacement for birk

Makes sense, he will be fired up and rejuvenated for when we need him

Remember the last time we played the Chargers? Remember how Ray ended that game? Yeah I miss Ray Ray. I hope he's out there Sunday night.

I miss my Ray Lewis something awful! I can't wait to see him in uniform again and to see that dance! I just want him to be 100% healthy when he returns to the field. Waiting for the day with bated breath!

Go Ravens!!!

Obviously we all miss him, but I think this has been a good chance for everyone, we fans and the Ravens organization and team, to see what life will be like after Ray. We've gotten a good look at Jameel McClain, who has played well, and Dannell Ellerbe has looked really good too. While I miss seeing him out on the field, it has made me slightly more comfortable with the thought of him retiring.

all of the greats walk away from the game eventually. Ray Lewis is no different! that being said....OF COURSE we miss watching him out there. i know i do! but, his leadership is the main reason why the young pups are doing soooo well in his absence. i love what Suggs said at the end of game presser.... "let's not get it twisted....this is STILL Ray Lewis' team!"

Ray will be smashing heads when he returns. hopefully, that will happen in San Diego.

I kinda feel bad for San Diego in this regard. Ray Lewis is itching to get back on the field. Oh Boy, will he be hitting hard come Sunday.

Yeah I miss #52 and what kind of gets me mad is the media is like I guess we dont need Ray Lewis anymore...yeah we won some games without him but we are still a better team with Ray in there...there were some run against the Browns and Colts we gave up where guys were out of position and Ray had to tell Jameel or Elllerbe...Ray still makes plays

Remember last time we faced the Chargers, last play of game they run a play to try to win the game, Ray sniffed it out in the backfield and GAME OVER

I am just confused by how his injury is progressing.

He was going to try to play Week 11 was the report.

Then Thanksgiving he practiced all 3 days limited but was a GTD before not playing.

Week 13 he allegedly did all the pre game warmups but was advised to give it some more time.

Week 14 the staff decided to give an extra week of rest vs the horrible Colts.

Last week we are given a report that Week 15 is the return but now they aren't sure?

What is going on here?!

3 more games in the regular season grind, but then come January...

Nelly's "Hot In Herre" will be blasting over the stadium speakers.

The smoke will part.

52 will appear, he will dance, and the crowd will go crazy.

And hopefully, we will see Ray dancing all over that blue horseshoe in February!

Quote the Raven, nevermore!

And on a similar topic, I am really missing the big plays for Ed Reed. But I like to think positive, and hope he's just saving them all for the playoffs... err, I mean... festivus!

Now it seems as if Ray's status is up in the air for this Sunday as well.

I get this bad feeling that he is done for the season.

He'll be back, you can count on it. If he has to take lidocaine shots in that toe for playoffs he'll be back.

If & when Ray goes -- does Reed go with him?

I can't get out of my head that when one goes, the other one will too.
Reed has said he's playing for the ring. He's punished his body a LOT and the only reason he's still here is he desperately wants that ring. If we win the big dance, I think he's absolutely retiring. That nerve impingement has too many permanent implications for him to keep pushing himself.

Ray will probably retire this year if we win, maybe come back 1 more time if we don't. I could see him returning even if we do win, moreso then Ed anyway.

Perhaps if we win a Superbowl. But other than that, I wouldn't worry. Reed isn't going anywhere for at least 2 more years.

Adam schefter just tweeted that ray is expected to practice this week and play this weekend...

This is a must win game for tiebreakers and all that plus just overall seeding so I expected this to be the game he came back anyway

I tell you one thing, the way that the Ravens D has stepped up their game and taken it into another gear while Ray has been out is a testament to what Ray has taught them and to the caliber of men on our team. I'm so proud of these guys. Especially Suggs. He not only has taken his game to an insane level, but he has done it while filling in for The General.

Man I love this team.

Ray has already said that he will retire if the Ravens win the Super Bowl this year. So, it's very likely that Ray Lewis and Ed Reed could both ride off into the sunset together after February if the Ravens win it all.
