RG III Wins Heisman Trophy

I am very very happy that he won this year. Everyone thought Luck/Richardson would be the gimme picks here. I was hoping so much that he would win. His numbers were just out of this world. 192.3 efficiency rating is just insane.

Im just pleased that the man who deserved it, got it!

Andrew Luck didn't get it though.

I don't understand the hype train behind RGIII. The Big 12 is the most overrated league in College football, especially since Nebraska left. Luck had a tougher schedule and is still regarded as the best QB in college football, outside of that idiot Skip Bayless who doesn't understand the difference between pro and college football. The complete disconnect between true ability and awards, both from an individual and team standpoint, in college football really bothers me.

If you want Andrew Luck to do well in the NFL, you'd be ok with this decision.

Frankly, as far as I'm concerned, RG III makes sense as the Heisman winner. He's the quintessential college QB in that he's athletic and he plays extremely well within his scheme. Luck, however, looks more pro-ready. The Heisman trophy is about production and the aura that each player has at their position at the collegiate level -- that doesn't necessarily translate to pro-readiness.

I'll congratulate Robert Griffin III for his deserved Heisman Trophy. But I'll also congratulate Andrew Luck in April when the first chapter of his (hopefully) long professional career begins in earnest.
