Has nothing to do with the refs here. This is one player, Suggs, and I don't ever recall seeing him deliver a helmet to helmet hit, even an incidental one. He has one fine for $7500 and no others because guess what? He makes every attempt to tackle WITHIN THE RULES. Unlike some.

Who knows, The class of 2011-12 hasn't finished it's final semester yet. Though, it wont be ranked number 2 in it's class... That's reserved for the Stealers.

Its not hard to follow how the thread degenerated....every conversation I have with you guys ends with "0-2" or "sweep", so I just threw the 6 in there as a retort to that. Hold yourselves to the same standard you hold others and there will be no issues.

It is a regular season sweep and there is no guarantee of a match-up in Play-offs, but I get your point...If they meet in play-offs and Steelers win, the two regular season games will become meaningless.

Yep, and it is possible he will get 1 game suspension. Again, as I said, the guy needs to change his approach to tackling but the idea that he processed, "I think I will do a helmet to helmet on Colt" as some here suggested is just nuts.

I don't agree that it is "nuts" or out of the question to think there may have been some intent on James Harrison's part especially given his history of questionable decisions prior to this hit on McCoy. There is no way I can say without a shadow of a doubt that James Harrison's intention was to hit Colt McCoy with a helmet to helmet shot but by the same token...you can't say that his intention was not to. You can certainly speculate that his intention was not to and that isn't "nuts" or out of the question either. Most likely, nobody but Harrison will ever know the truth regardless of what he will say publicly about it.

This is my exact point. I find this so irrational that its impossible to have a reasonable conversation about it. The steeler hatred just blinds some ravens fans from any and all objectivity on such a discussion. Your position would mean Harrison is intentionally willing to pay the NFL tens of thousands of dollars and sit out one or more games so that he can hit colt mccoy helmet to helmet. Like I said, its just nuts.

I don't even think the man is intelligent enough to discern the difference of intent and accident. You don't get fined this many times without some level of ignorance to the rules and how the game (in this new "softer" era) is to be played.

Actually, given his comments after the game "I thought he was a runner once out of the pocket and didn't have any defenseless rules" pretty much say he in fact DID have that thought at the time.

Hey it is what it is. On a Ravens forum, you are going to get a certain take on things. And someone like yourself that appears to be a Steelers fan, will have their own "Black and Gold" compromised take on things.

Now as to what you said about my position...

My position is that Opinion A isn't "nuts" because Opinion B differs from it. That's what I was saying and it offered no support to whatever point you were making.

At this point a $200,000+ fine and/or a 1 game suspension w/o pay should be in order. I would also bring in the head coach (Tomlin) of the Steelers to make the message clear that that kind of playing will not be tolerated. I know Tomlin doesn't like to be made an example of but at this point you have to look at other things besides the player. Is the coaching staff also to blame at this point? Personally a little slap on Tomlin's hand will go a long way in the Steeler's locker room, especially for Harrison.

I would also investigate the Brown's staff as to why McCoy was brought back in after the hit. He should've stayed out for the rest of the game for his sake. These players think they are invincible when they are that young. Seeing how little has been done as of yet I think the NFL may be planning a lengthy investigation on both teams.

We aren't saying Harrison wants to pay the fines and serve the (possible) suspension(s) just so he can hit McCoy in the head. What we're saying is that Harrison misunderstood the rules yet again and the punishment should be more severe than just a fine.
