Who Else Here Thinks Suggs Is Or Will Be The Face Of The Ravens..

83 posts in this topic

I'd say it would be Ray Rice

And leaving aside the importance of different positions, Rice gets a lot more respect around the league then Flacco.
Flacco is routinely overlooked and disregarded by the talking heads. Rice is not.
We shouldn't care but it happens anyway

If it means anything, they have Ngata and Rice doing most of the ads on the videos on this site
I've seen Joe acting, it's not pretty lol

Coming in the season, I would have said that Ngata was destined to be the face of the defense. After the Thanksgiving game, I'm certain that people will always see the defensive leadership as going through #52, then #55. If Sizzle can continue to dominate in the sack department, then he will be right up there with the best of them, but no one will unseat the great Ray until he retires. Ray Lewis is the defensive Johnny U. of Baltimore football. There will never be another but there are others who will achieve greatness in this town. I see Suggs as having a career in broadcasting after he retires.

Actually, he is very well spoken. I always thought the same, but after watching a "one on one" with Gerry Sandusky on Ravens Report, I have a different opinion. When he's not pumped and spouting comedic blurbs, he's pretty well grounded and sensible.

Well, he definitely is more articulate than this guy and HE was given a few chances. He was terrible, but at least I laughed.

This is spot on. There will never be another "face of the Ravens" like Ray Ray.

I think our "face" is moving towards a collective group of hard working, hard hitting, stand up individuals, not just one player. I like that.

LOL oh yea, agree with you on that. I honestly love watching him on Sound fx because he is so much more Open and your watching the real Flacco , who is usually considered a robot. He is coming out of his shell little by little but Flacco did have alot of Critics that were RAVENS fans (must admit, when he first came in,my first impression was wth) and he still has a few Ravens Critics but nothing like it was. People are starting to realize this guy is pretty dam good, Not Elite but i think in terms of QBs, he is close to Eli in how he is looked upon from the fans and media.

T-Sizzle is a beast and should be in the pro bowl-just looking at stats only he is the prototype LB and has proven our defense hasn't lost a step without Ray Lewis.

It's obvious how we put team ahead of "I" on the Ravens. The group is going to rock the Colts and take it out on them for knocking us out of the playoffs in 2006. I left the stadium feeling that someone worked me over for 10 rounds.

I remember that game like it was yesterday, it was raining but really warm, nothing but Field goals. And Stover was missing them bad. Also i remember Mcnair stinking it up. I remember being so p.o.ed, that and in utter shock. But nothing shocked me more than the STEALERS play off game back in Jan. and honestly dont think ill ever be shocked and in disbelief like that again.

ball so hard university will be the face for the media. he's kown for being on 1st & 10 with skip. he's our most outspoken public figure with a youth movement behind him...he's the new hotness! ball so hard!!!...yall know how popular that is?

I think when Ray Lewis hangs up the cleats, Suggs will become that motivational leader on defense. He coaches up these guys on the sidelines now. I've even seen some sideline footage where he is talking up the players on offense as well. I love Rice, I do, but he still shows his youth many times as you can see from some interactions between him and Leach.

"If anybody is trying to hire a head coach, if they ask, I'm going to say Pagano sucks," Suggs said. "He's terrible. He's a terrible coach. His players don't love him, and he doesn't know what he's doing when he's calling a game."

It's quotes like this that will make Suggs the face of the franchise. Joe is too humble to be the face and Ray Rice is too nice. Suggs is rude, crude, blunt, and loves to stir the pot.

Sadly, ugly Suggs won't do well bring new ladies into our Ravens fan base....................

But, his play, position, and bigger-then-life personality will definitely give him clout and plenty of microphones.

I agree with other people's thoughts that we will evolve into more of a team then ever! Example, Brady is face of N.E., but everyone knows that they have tons of guys..........Steelers have multiple guys...etc.

When Ray and Ed hang em up, this is Suggs' team. I don't know how vocal Haloti is but I would say Lardarius is definitely in the pecking order. I don't see anyone on offense being the face besides maybe ray rice.

Yup.
But you can make a good argument either way, neither answer is wrong

You know that saying about people who have a face for radio?

Anyways, I think the ''face'' will be be Rice or possibly Harbs kind of like Billick with a nicer demeanor. Harbs already gets a bit of coverage for his ''mighty men'' ''dig with a sword in the other hand' type stuff so he's my wildcard.
