I thought I saw him grab his knee last night. Not positive.

I think the reports have both Pouncey and Ben with significant high ankle sprains... given the 49ers pass rush, I don't see how the Steelers could think about putting Ben out there. The Browns are one thing, but the 49ers are a whole different animal.

Can't be any worse than putting him back out there last night. Ben will play for sure. But his lack of mobility will be a big help for the hit or miss 9ers pass rush.

Anyone saying Ben "faked" his injury is just silly... he is one tough hombre, but I don't think he should have gone back in the game. He really could have made it a lot worse.

I'd be more worried about Pouncey... he doesn't seem to be able to stay healthy.

I havent heard much on Pouncey but hopefully his injury wasnt too serious as well. Kemoeatu was a complete disaster when he was put in the 3rd quarter of that game with his foolish penalties he committed on key plays and drives in the 4th quarter. He has no business starting on the Steelers offensive line at this point and time...

They understand the risks and they get paid offensive amounts of money. They are also adults and take these risks willingly. I don't really worry for them as much as feel bad for them once the bottom falls out on their health. It was their choice ultimately and they are, nowadays at least, paid quite handsomely for it. Just my two cents.

I can somewhat agree with that, but at the same time, we fans also encourage players to play hurt. The machismo of sports encourages players to overlook serious injuries or else they'll be labeled as weak.

This is obviously branching into a different discussion on an entirely different topic, but I would like to see fans and players get out of the mindset that playing hurt means being tough. There's varying degrees of injury, and I'm not comfortable with applauding a player's toughness if he's playing through a serious enough injury, no matter how handsomely he's paid to voluntarily play.

Ben will be able to play I have no doubts it doesnt matter who the opponent is. The Steelers know how important this game is to win as well against the Niners and even though they will never come out and admit it they know it's probably the last game left on their schedule in the regular season they can lose.seeing that they most likely will not lose to either the Browns or the Rams. The Steelers want that number 1 seed in the AFC and they are going to continue to fight and battle until New Years Day to get it by forcing the Ravens to play perfect football and win every single one of their games from here going forward...

Hypothetically Ben plays and seriously aggravates that injury or suffers a more serious one... will it really be worth it?

This may be a photo finish for the afcn title. I can sort of understand the urgency and recklessness. Well, my cold blooded, win the game regardless side anyway.

I would guess the majority of us think that he was hurt, just the extent of the injury was exaggerated. The man is a drama queen, I have no doubt about that. Did you hear him after the game describing the injury? I know guys in the military who have been shot, blown up and one was set on fire in Afghanistan and Iraq who didn't make as big a deal about it as he made standing next to that locker. From his description, I am pretty sure this is the most painful thing to happen to any human being in the history of the planet. Pretty sure.

What I find interesting now is that from all reports, it sounds like Colt McCoy was knocked out on that play, that he couldn't remember his name and that they trotted his butt back out onto the field with a concussion. That would explain how incredibly bad and slow he looked when he came back in. Watching Seneca Wallace drilling that pass right into his receiver, I still don't understand how you pull him and put the bleary eyed QB back in if you want to win.

Definitely. When you take away his mobility, what you're left with is a 6 foot 5 stationary target behind a terrible offensive line. Pretty bad combo if you ask me..
