1 No. That belongs to Von Miller by some distance.

2 Not this season, but when he does he won't be as fresh on passing downs so he won't be as effective getting to the QB.

3 No. He's not on pace for 8.

4 Yes.

With 6 sacks now, 4 games left getting 2 more sacks seems reasonable

McPhee and Kruger are a perfect example of role players. These players are young and are making plays when they come in the game. The fact that they are making plays even if it is a sack in one game or pressure on the qb on another. These plays open up Suggs and the rest of the defense. These players are huge pieces to making our defense elite.

Do you think he could make a run for DROY?

Do you think he could soon start over Redding?

Do you think he'll have 8 sacks by the end of the season?

Do you think he'll become a perennial pro-bowler in the future and the Ravens next big defensive player?
Von Miller is just too much of a beast...

soon, as within 2 seasons? sure

Indy could be his field day.

Definitely

During the preseason I posted that the Ravens should use him from the start of the season and not wait till the end of the season. I knew he was going to put up good numbers just from his play in the preseason. Its now time for Redding and McPhee to switch playing time. Have McPhee start and Redding be his back up. That will be the only way McPhee can put in a late run for Defensive Rookie of the Year! He will get 2 sacks each against the Colts and Browns and 1 sack against the Chargers and Bengals.

I dont know about that. It looks as if McPhee is benefiting from being fresh from substitutions and redding is playing great this season.

This season is about playing the best football they can play, not about getting Mcphee the defensive rookie of the year award, as nice as that would be, Tailoring your line-up for specific players to win awards isn't the way an nfl team should operate.

Von Miller had that award wrapped up 3 weeks ago. Nobody is taking that from Miller.

McPhee would need two sacks a game from here on out to have a shot at DROY. Eclipsing Von Miller in sacks is his only shot. Peterson has return TDs (not sure if they really count for a defensive award) but he's been bad in coverage.
Naw Peterson hasn't been bad in coverage he has made plenty of good and great one on one stops and he has gotten beaten also. Which he should anytime a rookie lines up against. The top WRs in the league. Lol.
He and jimmy both give a up few plays because they aren't use to So many WRs having speed. And strength and they think their natural ability will allow them to dominate in every situation ....

heck no!!
redding is playing a monster season! he is very good this year. mcphee at this point is a situational pass rushing end. we should keep it this way for the rest of the season.
the goal is not to have the defensive rookie of the year on our team. the goal is to win a Super Bowl. it´s not about stats out there! it´s about winning games. mcphee won´t be able to have the same impact if he would be on the field for every down.
use him if you need him. we all know haow good he is and how great he will be for us. we don´t need an award to know that!!

What #1 receivers are in the NFC West? Besides Fitz, who is on his team... Peterson hasn't sucked (lot of competition on his team for that) but he hasn't been anywhere near DPOY-worthy. And Jimmy was beaten twice for TDs because he misunderstood the coverage. Not excusing him, just clarifying, it wasn't because he couldn't keep up.

McPhee may not get DROY, but he's my favorite rookie. I love all of our draft picks, but McPhee is my favorite. He is such a surprise. When we drafted him, I asked "Who?" and then pre-season came and I was blown away. My next jersey is a toss up between McPhee, Jimmy Smith or Torrey Smith. Even if I have to customize one for McPhee, I'll do it. But I have a feeling they'll be out eventually. I also would like to hear the crown chant "MCPHEENOM!" whenever he gets a sack.

I'm saying they over-estimate their own abilities thinking that they can recover from any error made in coverage with their pure speed like they did in college...... What does the NFC west have to with it, teams only play 6 divisional games... Notice I said Top WR and u said #1 WR ( top WR refers to the best on a certain Team ) #1 WR could mean something like a Franchise Type WR ( which there are only a few of them in the entire league ).....

Peterson this year has covered a number of Team's top WRs for majority of games ( S.Smith ( got beat badly), H.Nicks, M.Wallace, Boldin (until Cam got smart start putting boldin in motion etc to pic on Marshall lol)....... I've seen Peterson be stride for stride with WRs, make great break-ups and I've seen Nicks and others make tough catches on him.. He has played very well..... ( Not sure how many games u have seen or if its just Highlights u see?)

Peterson has been playing the whole year and has 13 passes defended. Jimmy already has 6 and he's been rotated in and out for 3 games. So I don't see how pass breakups puts Peterson over the top. He has his moments, but he's hardly good enough for DROY and IMO he's not even the best rookie corner so far. Special teams returns is the only thing he has going for him right now.

Anyway, this is about McPhee, and as of now I think McPhee's been playing as well as any rookie D-lineman/OLB minus Von Miller. That's good news, because I really wanted one of those lineman...

U are correct this is about McPhee....
But for record pass defended are passes in which the defender deflects the ball or breaks up the pass its relative to how often the ball is thown at or near the defender A CB's stats almost never tell the story of their play, Arrington leads league in INTs but is pathetic. Those stats don't reveal game footage.

BR..com
did a re-draft, and we had 3 ravens in the first round.
J. Smith
T. Smith
and Mcphee.

Proud to be a raven,
Well, it was definitely done by BR.com if J Smith is viewed as a first rounder ;) I mean, he is definitely 1st round talent, but you cant view him as a first rounder during an injury plagued season when looking back at where they "should have been drafted".
