The Missing Rings: The Ravens Since 2000

5 posts in this topic

I saw this commercial the other day for a show called "The Missing Rings" about throwback NFL teams who were head and shoulders above the rest of the league, but who couldn't get a championship. I couldn't help but thinking about our team for the last 8 years.

Im up here in NY, so Im very close to all these hideous Patriots fans. I can't stand them, and it infuriates me when people talk about their dynasty (because yes, lets face it, they did/do have one, and yes, Brady is all that, even though I hate to say it, you must give respect where it is due) because I know that if we could have had any semblance of an offense over these past 8 years, it might be our dynasty they talk about, and not theirs. How many titles could we have won? Who knows, but we DEFINATELY have some missing rings...

same here dude, Steeler fans are all over in some parts over here so i hear ya, a few of my family members are Steeler fans and so coem game day there is the occasional battle between whos team is better and at some point they bring up " we have such and such number of rings"...... i siply respond with the simple message of "yea....... how long have your team been in the league?.....76 years now?......the Ravens have been in the league for what 12-13 years and already have a Ring to account for them"

Sure there were a few years (like 2006 as a prime example) that have left alot of people wondering "IF...... what if they won that game" but again thats just an after thought and as such....we all must move on from it and learn from past experiences in order to better ourselves in the long run down the road. that Play off Loss in 2006 coupled with the disappointing 2007 campaign.....means not to despair and dwell on the What if's....but more so on "what have we/i learned from that experience......what can i do...what can we do as a team to try and aviod those types of mistakes from happening again"........... every season is a learning experience, meaning you can always learn something new and build off that and continue to excel from your past experiences...doesnt matter how well or how badly you did....you never ever stop learning and so you can always get better each day, each week, each year, each season.

Hahahahah, maybe I'm crazy, but in my head, we could have swept it all 8 years! No BS, I know its nuts, but if we had a top 15 offense even, with this D through that stretch, it would be possible. Its funny when people say that other D's are better than us, like the Steelers, or the Titans, or the Bears. Anyone who really knows football knows we are in a whole different category by ourselves. And they constantly put up stats when they play with no offensive support, tired, frustrated, and often playing catchup, with all the pressure on their shoulders! Just imagine what it would be like if we had offensive production to give them proper rest & recovery, and the ability to make more teams 1 dimensional because of the score?

we did it
we are on the track to recover the missing rings
we fired brian billick he was the one between us and the rings

if he have been let mcnair be mcnair we could be won all three home games in 2006, we finish with the second best record and we beat the chargers in the regular season who finish with the best record

to lost to an offense that didnt put up a TD

was a perfect example of bad coach

who agree with me ?
