i was reading in the fa section that a lot of people think we will release jj next year. Today in the in game thread though everyone was praising him and saying how good he was. i mean he is a solid run stuffer. i dont know the whole salary cap stuff, but what are the possibility of us keeping him?

Well, it wouldn't be us "releasing" him, as hes a FA in 2012, but I get what you're asking here. Yes, I believe we offer, and retain him, through a relatively small 2-3 year deal after this year. Now, of course, seeing what happened to Heap and Co. this year, I could certainly be wrong.

No offense to JJ, he's a great player but we have two 2nd round picks waiting in the wings. Kruger is developing really well as Kindle is probably getting ready to fill Krugers pass rushing role next season. Steve B has also stated stated if another player can perform at about the same level for less money he will most likely go in that direction. Johnson has earned the right to request money the Ravens most likely cannot offer even with Lewis' off the books cause of retirement. Webb, Rice Grubbs, McClain and a few others contracts are up next year.

Good, solid player. Love him. He's definitely a Raven.

But the same was said about Mason, Gregg, McGahee, and Heap. No one thought that there was any possibility of all 4 of them being cut, right? But they were. And JJ may be let go for the same reasons they were.

There is a strong possibility that his replacement is on the roster currently.

Someone will offer a big payday the team just can't match

No doubt the Jets but there could be others

Wouldn't be a player fans around the league know but the coaches do. Mike Mayock was raving about JJ on Thursday night football

I think the Jets may try to sign him. He's had experience in Rex's system, the Jets could use a better OLB, and the Jets Run D has taken a huge step back, currently ranked 15th, allowing 1355 rush yards so far. They could use him.

any thing is possible, but I for one would love to see him stay.

If for any thing I like his comments on Monday mornings on 98ROCK.
