Im Not Giving Up On Lee

53 posts in this topic

would this even be at topic if we'd made the two field goals that should've been made and gotten a first down on that 4th and 1 in the first quarter? We would've blown out the Browns like we should have and would have nothing to complain about. Lee has barely played and doesn't seem to be in football shape or in sync with Joe yet. Wait until the playoffs when it really matters and he has some PT under his belt this season

Didn't make the Game Thread today so no idea what prompted this but, Evans made a major play for us last week. Not only made the catch but fought hard for that 1st down yardage.

He's just back from injury and he & Joe need to develop that chemistry once again. That TD pass was just barely out of bounds so it's not too far off. He'll be back to form soon.

I still have hope for Lee as well... on the potential TD pass, his left foot never came down in bounds.
unfortunately that one was on him. He didnt work the DB far enough to the inside intially to give himself a cushion between the sideline.

had to work, couldn't watch the game. How much playing time did he get and how many targets?
he was in there a good bit on 3rd and longs in 11 personnel packages. I think he had three targets. One he caught out of bounds, the second one was a good play by haden and the third was a straight drop.

I really haven't been seeing any posts about Lee Evans or people taking shots at him.....

All dropped passes/out of bounds today. It was kind of dissapointing, but hopefully he'll get better. We will need him CLUTCH come playoff time.

People are calling for his head? Well, thats just dumb for those who are....

Biggest reason why I hate Raven 'fans', we're too over the top with things so quickly. It's like we have a bad case of ADD or something. Lee Evans isn't Randy Moss'ing the league right away so we need to cut him. Billy Cundiff is going through a rough patch after being a huge part in our playoff run last year. Then I hear people zapping out about Koch! But next week at The Bank when everything is going gravy and we're steamrolling the Colts, it will be all lollipops and rainbows and we're going to the Superbowl again with Flacco. Can't stand these people!

Is it a bad time to be screwing up? Most definitely and they should get it together starting tomorrow I'll be the first to say. Harbaugh and Cam (Two people I think are the biggest factors in where we go) still have a ton of things to clean up, too. But chill out, I said it in another thread that people are undervaluing Lee Evans. He had beast mode stats with nobody throwing to him in Buffalo when he first was drafted. What he and Flacco did in the pre-season wasn't a fluke, just let him get the game back under him. We'll be fine Feb 5th.

Only way I see us winning a Superbowl is going through Steelers AND Patriots(its inevitable). Then winning Packers(Yes that 16-0 perfect team). And to make that happen every flaw we have need to be addressed and IMPROVED and EXECUTED. I gurantee Lee Evans will(MUST!) be a huge part in that role to make that SB run. As well as Billy Cundiff, and Joe Flacco and even Torrey Smith.

Our schedule this year might have been easy, but this will be the HARDEST playoff we will ever witness.

Couldnt watch the game today did cam use any 3 wr sets? With both Torrey and Lee on the outside and Q working the slot we could destroy teams
Cam actually spread them out a lot on passing downs. It was nice to see for a change.

The Packers are beatable. And we always play the Steelers and Patriots TOUGH. What will be crucial is that first round bye. While everybody else is getting the snot beat out of them our boys could be resting up and our coaches could be game-planning for a run at the title. If the Steelers would have to go on the road and play a team like Denver or Houston in the Wild Card Round they could get beat up pretty good. They're an older team (especially on D) and a cross country road game against a grinder kind of team could take its toll on them.

I agree with you. Lets hope we wont be the latter who travels on the road in wild card.

He is a littel rusty from all his down time. He hasnt done anything bad as of yet and has caught a few passes, one very helpful catch during the SF game. I would wait and see myself.

Tell me about it. We have control of our destiny. If we win out and Houston loses ONE GAME, he are rewarded the number 1 seed in the AFC.

Was Lee really out of bounds on the sideline throw that could have been a td?

They showed it a couple of times and it looked like he was inbounds .
Well I don't know the rule quite as well, but his second foot hit the pylon. Now I don't know if it has to be the ball that hits the pylon to be considered a TD or not, but I think the refs should have looked at it more. I had all but given up on Lee to come back though. For so long we kept hearing that he could be coming back but they weren't sure and then he was back against San Fran. I think in time, he'll be a weapon, but until then, DB's still have to play him. I know the run had a lot to do with it, but I think Evans and Torrey still opened up things underneath.

Give that man a big jar of stickum"!

I hope Lee comes around. He looked good fighting for the first down on Turkey Day. Could be a Raven.

I see Evans as a Housh-type rather than a Stallworth-type signing. We expected veteran leadership for our young receivers and production similar to previous years. Thanks to the injury Housh had much better numbers last year regardless of his whining for the ball. Stallworth was only used on the end around. Let's wait until the final 4 games play out to compare their stats across the board. I'm sure that if Evans would have played more this season it would have kept Smith off of the field. So the injury gave us confidence in Smith. Evans will have a big game sometime before we are done. For now, a few receptions and his first Ravens TD would be an obtainable goal for him.

The coaches upstairs in the booth confirmed that Evans did not maintain his footing inbounds after he crossed the plane of the goal line. It is not the same as a running back diving for the pylon.

Having Evans is huge for this WR corps. Now we have two legit outside guys while Boldin gets moved to the slot in the 3 WR sets. Before we got him back, we had to use two TE's with Boldin and Smith. It really just opens up a lot more things they can do, and there's one more guy that the opposing secondary has to respect.

I think he will be huge for us down the stretch.
