Yet again...bye bye Billy Cundiff!!!

I know this is all I have to say, but he is getting a lot of money to make big kicks and he failed tonight.

Not only was he missing FGs, he also wasn't able to kick touchbacks this season with any consistency after doing so last season when the kickoff was further back.

What happened?

He was never the same after the injury.

even though people disliked your post 53 times, im pretty sure you were right. we should have stuck with graham[/quote]

And now we pay for it. We were minutes away from Superbowl. A game away from Ed Reed & Suggs finally getting their ring. And a second lombardi to Baltimore Ravens. Thanks for all the homers who adamamtly wanted to keep this (now) non- raven journeyman who piled his cash and will leave baltimore.

I'm not sure if it's my emotions telling me we should cut billy or my logic. He's missed nine field goals this season and god forbid we get a touchback every once in a while. Still, I think we should keep him at least until the preseason and bring in another kicker to threaten his job. It has to be a real kicker though, not some dude straight outta some canadian college or whatever, billy really has to feel believe that if he messes up, that he'll be replaced. Either way, we get the better kicker.

Billy Cundiff didn't lose us this game. Field goals are worth 3 points not 4, so I don't see why everyone is losing their minds over this. We still had to beat them in OT if we got the FG. Where is the threads about Ray Rices lackluster performance in the first half?

Whether it's right or wrong, Cundiff needs to go. You can't miss that kick and expect to keep your job. Do you think people remember Gary Anderson had a perfect season, or do you think they remember the missed kicked in the playoffs (when the Vikings were winning, mind you)? This is a tough league for kickers, and there's just no scenario in which Billy can return to this team.

Look dude you're getting paid to kick field goals, tight job kicking a touchback every kickoff because every kicker in the league can do that now. You have one job and that is to make field goals, you have the easiest job of anyone on the team and when you don't do it you should be fired.

Billy Cundiff has come through more then he put us down. Don't let your emotions of that kick get the better of you. Give the guy a break. I know he is being paid to kick when we need him to, but we're all human! And even if we would've gone to overtime, who would give him credit... only the guy who maybe gets us a win would get the thumbs up from the people on the Postgame Show. I am not mad at him at all. It was just a faulty kick at the wrong place at the wrong time. What makes a true fan of the Ravens is understanding the players and giving them support when they need it most. I guess we just weren't meant to go this year, so let's start getting ready for next season. I'd bet that John Harb won't get rid of Cundiff. What happened happened and let's not let it get the best of us.

Cundiff has been bad all year. If he is injured i would be willing to show some support. However every time he lines up to kick i find myself holding my breathe. This guy. Wow over 50 and im like no good. Cundiff has to be coached better. In fact special teams has really sucked this year. Minus the few turnovers in the playoff games that were handed to them, they have been terrible. Fire Rosburg

Billy was a subpar kicker and there are going to be many better options available during the offseason. Personally I'm incensed and think that he didn't earn his pay, and yes, NEEDS to be let go (we're paying him MILLIONS of dollars--he makes more than Ray Rice), but that's not even the issue. Even before this game, he was having a poor year. There are guys available who are better. 2012 kicker FAs: Josh Scobee, Rian Lindell, Phil Dawson, Connor Barth, Matt Prater, and even dinosaur Neil Rackers, who still has a few years left and is deadly accurate.

ANY of those guys would be an upgrade, and there will still be more available, not to mention rookies coming out of college. Billy wasn't the worst in the league, but his accuracy was obviously a problem, he couldn't get it out of his head, and he couldn't kick touchbacks towards the back end of the season.

I understand if Torrey Smith fumbled to end this game why we would stick with him, but given Cundiff's numbers, his struggles with range, his massive failure when it counted, and his kickoff performance I don't understand why we would NOT be looking to get a new kicker except to make a grown man feel good about himself.

Billy is expecting the pink slip. No more hatred for him, no more angry feelings. It's a business, he knows it, he behaved admirably after the game, and we'll wish him well. But it's time for him and us to move on.

The thing with Cundiff that really hurts his value to the team is on kickoff. Last year, he had the most touchbacks. This year, kickoffs are moved up 5 yards and he couldn't consistently get touchbacks. He also wasn't kickig good on the road. I think all his misses came on the road. I know he had a calf injury but factor in his past as a journeyman kicker he regularly makes about 75% of his kicks that I wouldn't be surprised if he's released. The one thing about his lack of touchbacks is that it showed that our kickoff coverage was bad too so Rosburg might be fired. Anyway we'll see what happens moving forward into the off-season with this team.

Right. In case some don't remember, Hauschka was canned after his miss in Minnesota in a regular season game. Perhaps Cundiff's miss didn't cost us the game, but it at least cost us the opportunity to win in OT, so there's really not much difference.

Open response to all Ravens fans and players. We had an amazing year and should have been in the Super Bowl hands down. To Lee Evans, let it pass. Do not carry the weight of this game on your shoulders. TJ did the same thing in a Pitt game. Any other quarter, second and seven a dropped pass would mean nothing. It happens and it is understandable. Let the drop make you stronger for next year. To Billy Cundiff, you have bailed us out of more games than I can count. I do not think mob mentality should rule. It was a bad kick hands down but as with Lee, the miss was just bad timing. If we were up, we would not have needed a high stress last minute drive to the end zone. As Ray Lewis said, we win as a team and lose as a team. Although this one stings, allow this to make you stronger. To the receiving core, if the pass is perfect catch it. Make Joe look like the quarterback he proved he was. He outplayed Brady and this is not a small task. Help him to look good. Defense...stay together one more year for that ring. We showed that we are dominate and need to remain that way. Keep working in the off season to make sure we remain that way and we will be unstoppable. To the Ravens fans...stay strong and keep doing what we do best. We support the best team in the NFL and next season will be ours to prove it. Great season and much love to all our fans and players.

One last thing...To Suggs, I do not know how to apply to Balls So Hard University so please open up membership to the rest of your loyal fans so we can be part of this elite alumni!!

he has struggled all year with right hash kicks i say keep him but bring someone in to compete atleast this is a tough one he has made quite a few kicks to win games but this is one you have to make. i do believe if we keep him he should take a cut of some sort most of the money we planned to pay him was for touchbacks and now thats done by almost everyone, were gunna need some cap money this year.

Don't let your emotions convince them to get rid of a great kicker. There were several plays and coaching decisions that all combined for the loss. Billy is not to blame.

But take a look at his stats historically. He's usually averaging 60's,70's in FG %. Last year he went off the chart with an 89%. So last year is looking more and more like a misnomer year. Just because he had one great season doesn't make him a great kicker. His leg was nothing like it was last year.

21 kickers this year who had over 20 FGA, had averages of 80 or better. Billy's only had one season over 80% in his entire career (not including the one year he wend 6 for 6).

Agree, to me... the Evans play wins the game, the Cundiff kick only prolongs it. Ray rice played like CRAP , almost like he had the jitters. The o-line started playing better in the second half , at least in the run game...Rice kept choosing to try and pouns the middle even though the outside stuff was open and worked a number of times.
