I hate haters.

No one hates Reed. We just think that he has hands of clay and butter fingers.

I'd rather have Zibby returning kicks. I feel pretty confident about his ability to at the very least, hang onto the ball. Move someone else up into his spot and cut him loose.

He led the league in return average last year, but what has he done for us lately?

I say that we trade him to another team for a draft pick.
That's a good one.....there isn't a 27th round in the draft!

You're a hater if you think he shouldn't be given another chance.
Not really. He's had his "chances". When he fell asleep on the punt in the niners game, that sealed it for me.

No time for chances in the next 7 or 8 games.

No. I like Tom Zibikowski returning.
Oh yea. Let's get 10 yards with Zibby back there! Reed is a threat to break one every time he touches the ball. Some of you guys are hyprocrites. I've made this point before, and I'll say it again; You wouldn't bench Flacco had he lost a fumble for a score, would you? Or what about Rice, had he lost the ball on the goal line to go up a score at the last minute? Probably not. Leave the kid alone. He barely fumbled last season. All he needs is some confidence. Let him be.

Actually if zbi plays it smart and just downs the ball we would get 20.

Reed not only runs it from 10 yrds deep but he barely gets to the 15 before he fumbles so even holding onto the ball he costs us 5 yrds

You've made the point before, and been criticized for it before since its flawed.

David Reed isn't a Quarterback or a Running Back, who are together responsible for the large majority of our offensive production. He's a kick returner. He's having obvious issues with ball security and letting him return kicks would be stupid.

It's not flawed. You just don't want to admit that if one of our other players (let's not even call them "studs" and think they're immune to a benching) acted stupid or lost us the game, everyone here would defend them to no end. He's our best option as a KR. I didn't realize David played defense and let the Seahawks score on us to go ahead

Zibby probably won't even be with the team next season (unfortunately), so this is just a moot point. David Reed is our best option anyway, unless we pick up a specialist in the draft

If we are talking about this yr calling a debate moot over who will be gone next yr makes no sense.

On top of that reed should be cut too.

Quan should be given his chances and reeds play making ability has more turnovers than tds....

We'll need a KR next year, won't we? And that's funny, Reed should be cut now. Don't be a hater man, he deserves another shot back there.

I don't even want D. Reed dressing, let alone returning kicks... punt and kick-off coverage only. I simply don't trust him whatsoever.

So again you are arguing against one guy because he might leave next yr in favor for another who will get cut.

As for being a hater, I love how people resort to less than intelligent replies when they have nothing else to say.

1 td for reed
Multiple fumbles
He hasnt earned the right to over look his mistakes

I was just making a point. I don't think Zibby will come back next season so we'll need a KR, and I think David Reed should be back there. So I guess Ray Lewis should have been cut in 2000 after he was on trial, but you probably won't admit to that. I'm going to laugh if David Reed returns a KR for a TD in the Super Bowl this year, and everyone is apologizing. Typical.

The one fumble he ran straight into the back of his own teammate. I believe it was his second. And if we have to play a game in PItts this post season I completely blame David Reed!

If Flacco or Rice turned the ball over every 5th time they touched it, they most certainly would be benched.

Rosburg should pull a Hackman and put this stuff on Reed's hands so he doesn't fumble lol

But of course it would be Cam Cameron's fault for the loss. Blaming Reed is unfair in my opinion.

Rice got benched in the Jacksonville game for fumbling.

Yes but he did cause a potential 28 point swing. HE single handedly took 2 possessions from our offense and gave the Seahawks 2 Red Zone possession. We lost by 5. Do the math that game is on D. Reed. The coaches are smart by diminishing his role as much as possible. D. Reed is an over thinking bum, he's not even a good ST player, I want him cut. Easily the most useless player on our whole team. I'll take Doss or Kindle suiting up over him every week. Zibby is protecting the ball as KR and that's all we need. I don't care if we start every possession at the 20, just don't give the ball away (I'm looking at you David Reed)

No. We cannot afford to risk a loss at this stage just so Reed feels good about himself. He had his chance to shine, twice and blew it. I am not saying cut him, but wait until next preseason to let him show his stuff. If he looks good then keep him, if not...oh well.

That's a bit harsh. I thought the defense was paid too but I guess I'm wrong. All I know is he's still on the team and I hope he still will be next season. He's a professional athlete and is skilled enough to be playing in the NFL. I still support him, he's a Raven.

Even you know how foolish your argument is, so there is no need to go over the Flacco/Rice comparisons. As far as "he just needs confidence, let him be". What is this the peewee league? Does everyone get a ring for trying hard? I don't know about you, but I want the Ravens to win, not build up Reed's confidence. You have to drop the man-crush and think rationally. A guy who drops the ball three times in two games cannot be trusted. End of story. Maybe let him build up some confidence in the practice squad, or at next years preseason games.

If he is playing well in practice, I see no reason why he shouldn't return kicks again. He is by far the best KR option we have if he has his head where it should be. Ill leave it up to the coaches to decide that.

Ok. I guess I'm wrong. I'm foolish to support a young Raven, and I guess if you make a few mistakes, you should be banished and cut from the team. None of us here are coaches, and David Reed is still on the team, for a reason.
