Who here thinks its time to give David Reed another chance to return kicks.

I for one think he is ready and i really doubt he would have the same fluke fumbling that we all saw in the Seattle game. After weeks have passed , so has my outrage of him having fumblitis.

We all have to remember that he did lead the league in kick returns last season and i feel he deserves atleast one more chance.

I highly doubt we would see the same out come of the Seahawk game.

You cant deny the man is fast, i mean really fast. I like how he runs (north and south)
I personally think the 2 fumbles were just flukes. And if he were to fumble again, then i say take him off of kick returning.

And honestly i dont want Webb getting hurt, pretty stupid to have you best Corner to get hurt returning kicks. That would make me lose my mind.

I'm sure not ready for it. How many times did he fumble in that game? More than once is a not a fluke. Ball security is a must for returners, sure he can bring it to the house but I'd rather have someone who just picks up a couple yards and hangs on to the ball.

I agree with you , but put yourself in his shoes. If i were him, that all i would be thinking about, im sure not one second goes by with him thinking about it. And im sure if he got another shot, he wouldnt throw it away because he knows that would be it for him.

Almost cost us the Steelers game. He should have learned a lesson then. Then, he fumbles in the Seattle game, not once, but twice, AND he drops the ball on another player just to be a jerk (he didnt even get to the 20 then if I remember correctly).

Carries the ball like my grandmother carries her purse to church.

I undestand that sometimes, you just get a good hit put on you, but none of his fumbles were because he got blown up. They all happened due to carelessness.

IMO, he is not a professional athlete. Didn't he get busted for drugs over the summer? That speaks volumes about him as a player. He so much reminds me of Gaither.

I don't know if you saw it when the fortyniner's punted, and he watched the ball bounce over his head and in too the end -zone. The ball could have been spoted on the five instead of the twenty. David needs to focus better.

To much riding on the rest of the season to start If were leading by three scores in the forth then mabe let him work his way back. I agree with Crabcakes not when the game hangs in the balance

As soon as the Ravens went up two scores, that's when i would give him another chance.

agree because he took one to the house before. Houston last year? he had the most return yards last year too. he maybe is just blah? maybe injured?

Actually the Stealers game was knocked out by an opposing player

No, he cost us a game that could be the difference between a home playoff game or being a wildcard on the road. We had NO room for error and he really screwed us. Don't get me wrong we didn't play well that game as a team, but the blame has to fall on reed. A potential 28 points swing. 2 possessions taken from our offense, 2 red zone possessions given to their offense.. we only lost by 5.. You do the math

Reed should be cut after the season, he's an emotional player and can't use his head. Like on the punt against SF where he allowed a touch back instead of downing the ball within the 10. He's a bum if you ask me. Not Raven caliber.

I remember that but i also remember another Ravens watching it bounce into the end zone too. Trust me, no one was more made than me int eh seattle game but Everyone should get a break no and then. Before he got injuried with his shoulder, he was doing great.

Plus i feel he is a good receiver, not great , but good. He is super fast, anyone remember him in the preseason and he made that amazing deep catch that anyone would have problems catching.

I hear ya, but he wasnt the only one that let that ball go into the end zone, cant remember who the other guy was but the other guy watched the ball go into the end zone too.

Anyone else remember who the other teammate was, i want to say Garror, <cant spell , lol but im probably wrong.

I think the other guy was Danny Gorrer.. but Reed is a repeat offender of playing just flat out stupid football. I would be nervous to watch him even touch the ball again. Seattle was no fluke, Reed doesn't know what ball security means. 3 fumbles on 16 attempts is ridiculous. The guy fumbles near 1/4 of his returns. He's a ticking time bomb back there, no thanks.

Reed has gone through a bad stretch that has probably destroyed his confidence , and over-thinking in an attempt to correct things often makes it worse. Remember Torrey Smith in preseason ? Everyone had to convince him to just stop thinking and play ball. Lucky for us , he was given the time to do that , and he did.

We need a KR , and Reed may well be our best choice. I'll be ready to give him another chance when the Ravens' coaches are. They see him every day in practice and will have a good idea when and if he's ready , or whether he's a headcase that we can't take a chance on.

I don't know about David, but one thing I do know is I don't want to see Webby back there doing it! He is good at it, but we can't afford to have Webby go down on punt returns at this stage of the season, imho. Everytime I think about it I have flashbacks to Jimmy Smith!
Can't the new Safety Emanuel Cook guy from the Jets do it? We should have kept McCann so he could be doing it. Anybody but Webby.

Go Ravens!!!

His confidence must be shot to pieces
One mistake leads to another mistake

After he let a punt bounce into the end zone for a touchback he looked lost out there
As I remember Jerry Rosburg leading him aside on the sideline for talk

As for the drugs, low round picks have been cut by other teams for less, he's lucky to still be here

I Mean He Did Lead The League Last Year In Kick Return Average , I Say Give Him Another Chance ,
Hes Pretty Good At Wr Also , Was On Youtube Watching Some Of His Highlights , REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF Derrick Mason

- I Just Wanna See Flacco In The Shotgun Ray Rice On The Right , Ricky OnThe Left ,
Lee On The Left Side Wr , Smith On The Right , And See David Play The Slot , He Owns There !

I was a fan of david reed and want him to progress, but hes had too many mental mistakes this season (along with off field issues).

It would be great to have a playmaking returner, and after reed our best options (as playmaking returners) are webb and torrey smith. I can see why the coaches wouldnt want them returning since they are key parts of our offense and defense.

I wouldnt mind seeing zibi/carr or even laquan run kicks as long as they run north/south and secure the ball. Laquan had some good returns in the preseason and carr has done a good job securing the ball on the returns hes had this year.

David reed needs to clear his head, I will go as far and say he shouldnt be active for at least a couple weeks. I would rather have tandon doss active instead, and see what hes about

I would say yes as long as a guy like Doss gets a shot. Our receiving corps is full, and he's only here through 2012 before becoming a free agent. With Boldin, Smith, Evans, Doss, and Williams on the roster, plus there's the possibility of drafting a receiver in next year's draft (if Floyd is on the board he'd easily be the best player when we pick, plus we've drafted a receiver or tight end in every draft but 2). If Reed doesn't get PT and won't play special teams, he's taking up a roster spot that other guys could fill.

I'm for it with the clause that if he loses the ball at all...he is done for good with us. I'd rather have him back there than Webb. We can't afford an injury to Webb.
