[News] Press Release - Training Camp To Stay In Owings Mills

Here's one of the drawbacks to the new CBA. If you think things are going to be the same with training camp ever again, you're kidding yourself. 2010 is now part of another era.

FIFTEEN PRACTICES before the first preseason game. I think I had that many just in the one week of football camp in high school that started off the season. That's crazy. I understand people (particularly in Westminster) and their disappointment, but you better believe that we need to squeeze every second of productivity out of that.

I'm not saying I was necessarily on the owners' side for the labor dispute, but there were going to be some things that we as fans were going to lose with the players' demands. You're going to see training camp changes everywhere across the board from here on out. Including, I would bet, with the Squeelers.

I have confidence in Steve, who has consistently been one of the most fan-centered owners in the game. His service and support to the fan base should be earning him at least the benefit of the doubt right now. He'll find new ways to get the product out to us and make sure there's plenty of interaction time.
