Anyways, I was looking at all the QBs of the AFC and it seems Flacco might have a good chance of being in the Pro Bowl, maybe as an alternative or voted in because of this year's QBs seem to be all in the NFC.

Elite:
Tom Brady (Guaranteed)
Ben Roethlisberger (Guaranteed because America backs up the Steelers)

2nd Tier
Philip Rivers (this year is his down year)
Mark Sanchez (beats easy team, but loses to tough opponents)
Joe Flacco (If he can get his QB rating up, maybe he might have a chance)
Ryan Fitzpatrick (Solid, but nothing flashy)
Andy Dalton (Impressive Rookie Year)

Average
Matt Moore (Not enough games to prove he's a franchise QB)
Tim Tebow (Definition of a nontraditional QB)
Matt Hasselbeck (best days past him)
Colt McCoy (His WR Corps really hurts him)

Who?
Curtis Painter (Those valuable QB reps are being wasted)
Blaine Gabbert (Opposite of Impressive Rookie Year)

Injuried
Matt Schaub (he can be voted, but an alternative must replace him due to his injury)
Jason Campbell (He was efficient, but injured)

Non-available
Carson Palmer (Not enough games for consideration)

Of Course Stats count, but also team performance counts. I hope Flacco lights up these last games, but make his first trip.

Is that really all there is? Wow not much competition..
If flacco can string together a run of good games with a few big ones. He could make it

he should have made it without hesitation but a couple games messed him up.. double int against titans, 13 incompletions in a row against the jets, and then the preformance against the jags, the latter both on primetime.. he didnt even play that bad agaisnt the seahawks.

he just needs to go like 250 yrds/game with at least 7 ds and 2 picks, that would put him at 20 tds, 10 picks, 3987 yards. that wil be pro bowl worthy compared to the other mid tier QBs in the afc.

Fitzpat will have more tds, maybe even dalton and sanchezaswell but both will have less yards, more ints and worse record. rivers will have more tds and yards but a hell of a lot more ints and worse record... and his worst year in his career pretty much

so he should make it in.. the browns games he may come up with only around 200 yds twice, but then we play the colts and the chargers who havent been playing good D, so could put up 300 yds a peice, so that a net of 250... he may throw a pick against eric weddle, he shouldnt aganst the browns because he shouldnt have to do too much if we can get our run going, ie force no throws.. the bengals game can go either way, 300+ yards 3 tds no picks, or 150 yds no tds 3 picks.. depends what o line and defense shows up, is he getting protected and can we stop their offense so we arent playing catch up...

When I read the title of this thread my thought was that there was no way he could make it. However, after looking at the list of possibilities it looks like Joe Cool may be in the fight for the third slot at the Pro Bowl. Tom Brady and Big Ben are both slam dunks, and quite deserving of the honor this year. Tom Terrific is still possibly the best QB in the league, even considering the amazing year that Aaron Rodgers is having. Big Ben has proved himself again to be an elite QB this year by carrying his team when both the defense and the running game were falling apart.

In another year Phillip Rivers would have been the third guy, without a doubt. However, with the number of picks he's had, coupled with the number of losses, he may finally get bumped. Combined with Matt Schaub's injury, there is something of a void at the third spot, which Joe Flacco may be the guy to take.

A strong finish to this year could be all that's needed. I would say that if he can win out and take one of the top two seeds in the AFC for the playoffs, as well as get above 60% completion, 85 QBR, and 20 TDs, while staying at 10 or less INTs, Joe Flacco would be an excellent candidate.

Unfortunately Flacco hasn't had the Pro-Bowl stats this year despite constantly making impressive throws to receivers who aren't open and avoiding sacks with his legs. Hasslebeck will probably get it. It's too bad, because if Joe's receivers hadn't had a year-long case of the drops and Grubbs wasn't out with turf toe for half the year he'd get it. Oh well. I'm sure Joe doesn't mind. Just give him the Pro Bowl game ball to take home and he's alright.

I think Dalton will probably take the third spot. If Brady doesn't show up, perhaps Flacco will get in as an alternate, but I doubt it. Some of his primetime performances have been downright dreadful this season and it's not as though he was a crowd favorite before that.

I'd have to agree with you on this. Flacco had a good shot at the start of the season but too many up and down performances will cost him. Dalton is much more likely, especially as he and the Bengals are getting more attention nowadays.

Your right Flacco is the 3rd man up. Cool, i think he has a real good shot. Everytime they show highlights on espn, nfl network. Flacco is on there throwing a bomb. He really does have one of thee strongest arms in the nfl right now. I would love to see him give it his all on a Ball but i dont think anyone can catch up to it,lol. I think the one that drew a flag (49ers, T.Smith) had to be the longest throw ive seen yet by Flacco. I think it was like 65 yds and i know he could have thrown it another 10 easy.

People that dont watch joe play and just listen to all of his critics wont vote for him. I know Tebow isnt at all an elite QB but people love him. I see the QBs as Tom Brady , Ben, and Tebow, America is stupid and Flacco is elite and has my vote

I think Joe's three biggest competitors for the 3rd spot will be Dalton, Hasselbeck, and Fitzpatrick. Dalton may have better numbers now, but against his biggest competion (Baltimore, Pittsburgh, San Fransisco) he's played very poorly. And I think people know he has for the most part had elite talent at both the WR and tight end positions with Green and Gresham. He's also thrown a lot of INTs. Hesselbeck's team has lost to every quality opponent except, ironically, the Ravens. Now he did lose Kenny Britt very early in the season, and I'm of the opinion that it was Britt more than anything who beat us in week 2, but still the numbers aren't great. Fitzpatrick has maybe the best case. His stats are decent, and he does have a win over New England. But still, He hasn't really separated from the pack, and his team is on a serious slide after starting so well. Looking at Flacco, the raw numbers say he's at the bottom, but he has 2 wins over Pittsburgh, 1 over the Jets, 1 over Cinci, one over San Francisco, and led a great comeback against both Arizona and Pittsburgh the second time. His team is doing the best so far. What may hurt him is completion percentage, the fact that he hasn't thrown many touchdowns, and the bad losses to teams like Jacksonville and Seattle. But there are still 5 games left to be played and if he continues what he's done since the Arizona game (where in my opinion he should have had 3 TDs and no picks but ended up with 0 TDs and 1 pick) he's got a good chance. Sweeping the division and earning his team a first-round bye would help his case.

Good early season stats and hype are very important. As the fan voting opens really early. And the team gets announced before even the season is over. Joe Flacco deffinatly deserves the 3rd spot though, but I can see Dalton getting in before Flacco. And inspite of Rivers poor year he still has thrown for a lot of yards. Not to mention, respect for the past is held in high regard.

I did not realize that there was so little competition, but I guess if you think about what's happened to Schaub, Peyton and Rivers, it adds up. Flacco would be a clear favorite for 3rd if he wasn't a media enemy. But I think if we go 13-3 and he puts up pretty good numbers and/or win some games with late clutch drives, he'll make it over Dalton and the others. I believe that Joe is better than them.

As far as the rest of the team, I hope like hell that Lardarius Webb gets in. Dude's been drastically underrated and unknown across other fanbases and elsewhere around the league. Very few CBs in the AFC have more tackles than he does, and only one CB (Kyle Arrington) has more interceptions.

Highly doubt he gets in over Tebow, Dalton, and Rivers. It's a shame, but realistically, IDT it will go in his favor. I really hope Lardarius earns his spot. Pollard should also make it IMO, but IDT he has a chance either

Honestly, I think Dalton goes, by default.

Flacco has been too inconsistent.

I can't see Flacco ever having a real shot at the pro-bowl, as long as we have you know who as oc.

I read the bold and laughed. It has nothing to do with the Steelers. He carried his team through sooo many games and he is having a great year. I wish Joe could be as consistent as Ben (yes, last game was bad but his hand is messed up).

I can see Dalton, Flacco or Rivers going. Probably Rivers.

Either way, the 3rd person is only going because Peyton and Schaub are injured....

If Tim Tebow wins the third QB spot, then we know the rest of the league is just as delusional as the voting fans.

Unless Tebow has some sort of miraculous boost in statistics and wins through this final stretch of the season, there's absolutely no way he deserves to go to the Pro Bowl.

But supposing Flacco beats Dalton again at the end of the season, and Dalton loses to Pittsburgh again? If, and I say if, the Ravens sweep the division, and Flacco's numbers improve (there are still 5 games left, including 3 division games) I really don't see the case for putting Dalton in over him. Their numbers right now are actually very similar, except that Flacco's already played the Steelers twice, and Dalton has played the Browns (a team which Flacco historically owns) twice.

He Has A Solid Chance , The Usual Qb's Of The AFC Are

1.Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Phillip Rivers/Mat Schaub

But Since Manning Isnt Playing At The Moment , Matt Schaub On IR , Phillip Rivers Having A Off Year ,
With Only Brady Left Theres 2 Open Spots This Year , Im Assuming Rivers Gets The 2nd One , I Only See Flacco Having To Beat Out Big Ben And/Or Ryan Fitzpatrick For The 3rd Spot , And He Should Be The Top Alternate W/ No Competion At All
