Your Favorite Type Of Madden Play

I was just wondering how you guys use your Madden game. Do you just pick up a random game and play it or play the Superstar feature or do you start up a Franchise and play away?

I haven't done it with 09, but in 08 I played Superstar after playing in NCAA to import my college player over to be drafted, it was a lot of fun (though its too easy to get to the Hall of Fame IMO).

Also if any of you play a Franchise do you just use the real rosters or do you do a fantasy draft?

Just some things to discuss and swap Madden strategies

All I've done over the years is select the Ravens and do a fantasy draft. I usually pick up to the 30th round, then send it on auto-pilot the rest of the way. But if I do not win in the season, I go back and do it again.

That's what I did this time, drafted some young, good defensive guys and a solid O-line. Got Calvin Johnson, Jon Beason, Marcus Trufant, and made a few trades as well. The only place I messed up was QB so right now I'm starting Brian Brohm >_< but it could be worse and after this season I'll make a trade for someone or draft somebody better if he doesn't improve.

Last night I always tried doing the Superstar one again, but using an existing rookie and picked Flacco Was doing well in my first preseason game, up 13-3 at the half (sound familiar? so will the ending) then the second stringers came in and blew the lead so we lost 21-20

I normally do franchises with some friends of mine.. We'll pick 2 teams in the same division or same conference(and hopefully meet in the playoffs).. We normally do a fantasy draft and simulate until we play.. We just keep the season going.. I've gone so far into franchise to the point where this years rookies begin retiring.. The off-season is the most fun.

Occasionally Superstar and on-line. Almost ALWAYS franchise. I like to take a losing team and turn them into a winner (never the Bengals or Browns), move the Jets to L.A., build an outdoor stadium for the Vikes. Stuff like that. Although, you apparantly can't build a new stadium without relocating in 09. ..., and you can't keep the name/logo/uniform if you relocate. That sucks.

To keep it fair in Franchise, I only play home division games and/or primetime games (no more than 8 and usually only 6 per season. Not including the playoffs). I find that the stats even out in simulations (especially OL pancakes). Sign a key free agent or two and build through the draft. I also like to change players positions as sometimes a player may be a better safety than a CB, or a guard may be a better center than I have, etc. I dunno, it's fun to me.

I love fantasy drafts, I try to keep some of my ravens on the team..... but, I go Ozzie and select the best player availible. Fun to see what a ravens offense full of playmakers would look like. I dont draft much, I usually trade bums and picks for beter proven players who are much better

I play Franchise the most. I use the regular roster but I turn salary cap and trade deadline off so I can play around as much as I want. Right now my Ravens team has Drew Brees at QB with Flacco backing him up and a rookie I drafted as third string (sorry Smith lovers, I gave him the boot). Lewis is gone (traded to the Lions for the first overall pick, I know it's blasphemy). Reed is gone (traded to the Pats for Moss, then traded Moss to the Lions in the trade that gave me first overall pick). C-Mac is gone along with HEEEEAP, traded to Cleveland for the second overall pick. McGahee along with a few picks went to New Orleans in exhcange for Brees. Pierre Thomas is my RB until I can find a better option. I also picked up Lee Evans out of FA. Stover retired, so I signed Matt Prater out of FA.

I won the Super Bowl with a 13-3 regular season record first year. I'm doing good in my second year, Prater has helped me win some close games with his bazooka of a leg. The only game I've lost so far is one where I decided to go Shanahan and go for two after scoring what would've been a tying TD. Needless to say I didn't make it and the Chargers beat me 24-23.

I'm big on Superstar Mode.
Although in 09' i think the gameplay in the mode hasn't changed much.
But i must say playing as a rookie is better than playing as your own created-player.

Personally i like playing as Flacco than anyone else. Through 3 seasons my OVERALL rating has boosted up to 83.
the only thing is atleast twice every game i'll throw to one of my receivers, instead of trying to catch the ball they'll just keep running, just like in '08 and 07'. It piss's me off. But every Madden i've noticed has atleast one glitch in it.

Oh well just have to wait to next year and see if they'll put more effort into fixing up the glitch's. 'Cause i KNOW they notice 'em with all the complaints they got last year.

But i am truly a madden fan at heart so i try my best not to diss them. =/

i play franchise almost always(they didnt have all this fancy stuff in 03, which i got used to playing in)

i take either the bills or the ravens, and make my self a maxed out QB

i am almost always playing out of the power I, and am very fond of letting the rush get to me, then throw it to McGahee on a screen pass

I love the Franchise mode as the Ravens. I have to play all of my games as well so it can take a while to progress through. After winning the Super Bowl (while going 19-0) Mason retired so I picked up Chad Johnson and felt guilty about it until burning all the DBs in the league. At least I don't have to put up with antics in the game.

my records like 22-23 meh...Gotta get past that .500 mark.
