What does this mean for the team. Anyone think they might be moving soon. I could see them moving to LA in the near future.

I'll help you out, there is a link on PFT. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/11/29/report-jags-are-being-sold-to-shahid-khan/

Now what I find interesting is that the Jags extended the contract of their GM Gene Smith for another 3 Years, while firing the Head Coach and selling the team. According to PFT, the Jaguars Franchise has been sold to Shahid Khan, no clue who he is but he tried to buy the Rams Franchise a couple years ago but minority owner Stan Kroenke matched his offer and got the team.

Well if anything, the only thing that will prevent the team from moving is that it's a tough lease to get out of and second, the Jags have a stadium sponsor through the 2015 season. Unless of course the LA people decide to buy out the contracts and lease in order to move them to LA. I was thinking Chargers or Raiders were going to be the team to move to LA, now I really believe the Jaguars will.

Thanks, forgot to check PFT. I only noticed it because of Schefters facebook. I think LA really wants a team there and will by out the contracts if they they have too. I'm also thinking it could happen in the next couple of years. It's weird they extended the GMs contract though. Good info JO.

Las Vegas?

I don't think they are going to put a team in Las Vegas. That would be a bad idea imo.

L.A can't support an NFL team, I spent half my life there and the mentality of the city isn't conducive for developing loyalty while also developing a team.

Now if the Chargers fire Norv Turner before Monday Night's game between with the Jaguars, it can be the Interim Coach Bowl!

Jaguars promote Mel Tucker as the Interim Head Coach and his first game is in the national spotlight on ESPN vs the Chargers.

I believe that. Heck, I believe people there go to Lakers games just to say they went to a Lakers game.

Even though the new owner says he's going to keep them in Jacksonville, the empty seats has to tell him something, right? I just can't see them staying there.

Maybe OKC?

Ole Tags thought Jacksonville was a better market than Baltimore at the time.

I'm shocked that Del Rio kept this job for this long.

I think he falls in to the same boat as guys like Norv Turner, and Wade Phillips. Not really a HC, but an excellent coordinator.

I actually wouldn't mind us signing him to the defensive staff, seeing as we'll need a DC in year or 2, because Pagano wont last very long.

A Year or Two? Actually I believe Chuck will be here for at least 4-6 seasons as our Defensive Coordinator. Have you ever thought Chuck doesn't actually want to be a Head Coach and would stay in Baltimore as DC? I just hate how not even a full season as DC and people think he is going to leave. I have to think nobody else is even thinking about him as a Head Coach for another 2-3 years yet here we are talking about him leaving so soon.

Del Rio will be off somewhere being a DC, or even a Linebackers Coach somewhere. I would say we could bring him back as LB Coach but I'm sure he'll get an offer to be a Defensive Coordinator. Possibly Philly? Philly runs the 4-3 and they desperately need a Defensive Coordinator.

Neither of us know him, so we can't say anything. Usually its the older people, and sometimes people who have already had HC gigs and failed.

I'm going to assume hes like most people, and wants a HC gig. Hes only 51, and hes hungry.

I already see his name coming up on websites as a HC candidate, and could see him getting huge buzz. Especially if were to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Tags, boy was he a wrong. Florida was NEVER a good pro sports market. It's laughable he thought a city like Jacksonville could pull it off. Not to mention, the built the stadium too large.

Well yeah good point but it would have been nice for Baltimore to have gotten a Football team before 1996. But considering the Jaguars' first season was in 1995 and that it wasn't until 1994 when everything was done, it wasn't too far off from the 1996 Draft. I mean it wasn't too much time. Looking at past Drafts, we really didn't miss much in terms of players. Sure we missed Marshall Faulk in 1994, Rodney Harrison, Issac Bruce, even Kurt Warner or Jeff Garcia from the 1994 Draft.

Yeah we missed on several good talents in the 1995 Draft but damn I wouldn't trade any of those players, and considering the Quarterbacks who were apart of the 1994 and 1995 Draft, I still wouldn't trade our what seemed to be 10 year long problem we had at QB for Ray and JO in the 1996 Draft.

If it wasn't for Art moving the Browns to Balt who knows how long it would have taken to get another team with him as the Commish.
