You ravens fans are like no other fans on earth. You boo a quarterback that has gradually got better and has taken you to the playoffs each year he has played. You cheered when kyle boler got hurt, You always think that the world is against you. there is a phrase for that "little man syndrome". I was at the cincinatti game a bit ago and i was sitting next to about 8 college chicks all in cinci gear, mind you every single one of them were hot. They actually had to get up and leave because they were getting stuff thrown at them, getting yelled at and being treated like they were sc um of the earth. If anyone of these beautifull women walked up to any of you ravens fans that call yourself a man you would be beside youself. Your excuse that ive heard many times is "passion" well whoever was thinking of that excuse while they were reading this is an idiot. You whine and complain when someone speaks ill of your team instead show a little posotive reinforcement stay behind your team without the attitude that world is out to get you. In the end you have to give the respect to get it
You have good points. The beautiful women thing is a little off topic, but I get what you're saying. The only thing I disagree with though is "You ravens fans are like no other fans on earth". Not sure what you mean by that, but other NFL teams have some really bad and annoying fans, a loooooot worst than us. There's only a handful of fans though on here that dislike Flacco and won't give him credit. The majority of the posters defend him. I still don't know who your team is though lol

Also Ourravensfan, The ravens are good but i think everyone can agree that there not in the same universe as the packers there offense is unstopable anybody who thinks differently does not know football
Yeah like the ones who said Patriots were supposed to be unbeatable in 07 and last year. They clearly know their football.

One idiot from ESPN claims the Ravens are overrated -- yet they have them at #2 in the Power Rankings this week... Brilliant!
Fixed, although I am a fan of Cowherd because he says things everyone wants to say but are afraid to say; challenges the masses in a sense.

However, he said something idiotic and will hereby be classified as such

Congrats. You just described every fanbase in the NFL.

Trust me, it is much much worse out there than Ravens Land.

I lived in Boston for years...now New York. I have been to Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Buffalo for games. There are jerks in every single stadium. (Philly is the worst though)

sorry codizzle didint know you were an english nerd ill make sure i tighten that up for you
I'll jump in and say I'm pretty sure that's not why codizzle questioned your grammar; it's because it just sucks every sliver of credibility and knowledge out of your posts. You sound like an uneducated individual. Who cares what an uneducated person thinks?

You might be getting me wrong here i love the ravens i think there a great outfit better than most, everything about them is great except the fans. i have travelled the country for a long time and have been to every stadium and seen every fanbase, but there is an undercurrent of animosity to the rest of the leauge and there fans by baltimore that shows its ugly head a lot more than you know. So when a figure head makes a statement about your team that is not what you want to hear just know it is a reply to you the fans and you alone to keep you in check and bring you back to reality. Yeah the ravens are 8-3 yeah they are a great team but when you prop them up on a pedistool next to the packers people that know a thing or two are going to put you in your place. an tell you yes there a good team but they need a little bit more tweeking and then they can talk about going to the superbowl. <Deleted>
How can a statement made by a figurehead such as Cowherd be considered an attempt to "keep us in check" and "bring us back to reality?" There's a difference in saying "Hey yeah you guys are a good team but be careful about your preparation week-to-week because this team has shown that it can sometimes play down to the opponent's level and sometimes worse" and "They are the most overrated team in the league." Is that too difficult to understand? Statement 1 would "keep us in check" I agree, but the second is purely idiotic and made only to start controversy, which is the goal of all news reporters and talking heads, period; that's why they get paid.

No one is putting the Ravens on a pedestal anywhere near the level of the Packers yet because they're undefeated, there's no way we can say we are close to their level. But as far as all this Packers talk goes, they're a good team, their offense is VERY good, their defense is suspect. See how close TB played them? They can definitely be beat

Colin Cowherd's comment was both baseless and tasteless. He is the most over-rated sports analyst I have ever heard. We are rated exactly where we deserve to be rated. Every team in the NFL (except Green Bay) has lost games that it "shouldn't have" lost this year. The only rating that counts will be the one at the end of the year - the Super Bowl Winner. We have been under-achievers so far but knowing where you are headed is much more important than where you've come from and the Ravens are focused and headed toward the Super Bowl. It won't be the first time a Baltimore team has met the Green Bay Packers for the league championship. This time The Lombardi Trophy will go to the Ravens and Colin Cowherd will have to eat crow.

Are you saying that the Steelers shouldn't have lost to the Ravens twice and the Texans?

i dont think i have been to a game and seen anyone treat an opposing fan to that extent maybe some joking or something but nothing physical in the slightest idknw what section you were at but sounds like you went to philly or something, must have missed your turn off 95. How opposing fans are treated is one of the things i like about going to the games in M&T the 49ers game was like a friendly atmosphere zero animosity towards one another i would be shocked to ever see that happen at the stadium wihout someone atleast calling the security to stop the ones at fault but whatever just sounds like a stretch (long stretch) of your imagination.

No, Pro Bowler! I;m just saying that there are usually games on any team's schedule that they can look back to and say "we coulda, shoulda and woulda" won. We beat Pittsburgh twice because we are a better team than Pittsburgh. During the off-season, the Ravens built a team that could beat Pittsburgh --- our only roadblock to the Super Bowl. When we have lost to them, it is ususally because we beat ourselves. In order to be a World Champion, a team has to beat all of the teams they are supposed to beat and some of the teams they didn't expect to beat. Also, a World Champion can beat teams at home or on the road. Right now our road record is 2 - 3. It needs to be no worse than 4 - 4 for us to have a chance to win the Division, which is attainable. It could also be enough for a 1st round bye and the home field advantage throughout the playoffs, if we take care of business at home and if none of the other contenders win out.

GGGrrreat! It makes no sense, what he is saying but that's good. It's good motivation. I am sure that every Raven knows about it. That's more fuel for the machine.

I like Colin. I think he's very entertaining. I listen all of the time. But I understand that he's a Brady and Romo lover. He's a headline lover and says things that make headlines.

Colin probably wants the Ravens to prove him wrong a little bit because it gives him more to talk about. He loves headlines. If Joe were a little more contraversial then Colin would like him but Joe will never be a headliner unless it is just about winning.

Let them talk. Like Suggs said in the game against the 49ers, “They’re going to give us the respect we deserve, or we’re going to take it by force.”

They like being the underdog team. They thrive on the fight.

Really?! They're talking to the fans just to keep them in check? Someone needs a reality check that's for sure.

Having moved from Baltimore, I have to keep my ears open to any little tidbit I can about the Ravens. I don't hear a lot but it usually seems positive. Nothing that makes me mad. One segment on espn radio was the "the bad and ugly" losses of the weekend. When it was over they had one more category "the inexplicable" just for the Ravens. But to me that was a sign of respect. I hear defenses compared to the Ravens. Today they mentioned Vick has no leadership skills, that he was no Ray Lewis. It is also mentioned that our team goes as Flacco goes. Which is also true. Brian Billick usually has good things to say.

Are we over rated in the venues I pay attention to? (mostly espn radio, nfl channel and Newark Star Ledger) Absolutely not. Disrespected? Not at all. (Though, that the Star Ledger had absolutely nothing about the Thursday game). But we are also not completely ignored. Even when the main story is not about us, I hear our players being brought into the discussion.

The fact that we are not a large market is the bottom line.
