Cowherd: Ravens Are Most Overrated Team In NFL

139 posts in this topic
Maybe we are overrated, we've choked three times this year against three bad teams.
The Ravens are not overrated, many ESPN people talk up the Ravens, this topic is useless. Maybe because the Ravens lost to teams they should have beat gives reason for some to talk negative about the Ravens.

Cowherd is awful. He is so full of himself. ESPN radio in NYC just wiped his show off the air. Now we have two young guys who are Giants fans but they are pretty good. They talk about other teams and one of the teams they like are the Ravens.

I'm still trying to make sense of the three losses we've had. We should be 11-0, but we beat good teams and lose to crappy teams. This has never happened in the Harbaugh era, so I'm honestly still stuck on it. If this was last year or 2009, Tyrod Taylor would have been in for Joe Flacco in the 4th quarter of each of those losses. I don't think we're underrated or overrated; we're just a "good" team, and "good" teams win championships
You actually think Flacco would have been pulled in 1 and 2 score games for a rookie QB? Serious question, so don't get all up in arms. I am curious as to why you think a year makes a difference and that Flacco would have been yanked?

He's still bitter about Baltimore running him out of town. He's your typical blow-hard who has a man crush on Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger... his opinion is meaningless.

We are overrated. We know this. We can be considered an elite defense but not an elite team until the Offense gets itself together. That being said, We swept the Steelers, beat the Texans (without AJ and Mario, i know) and we beat the Bengals (without AJ green, I know). And we beat the most overrated team in the Jets.

We lost to 1 decent team and 2 horrible teams. If we were 10-1 they wouldn't be calling us overrated but since we have 3 losses and narrowly avoided a 4th loss at home by a field goal, I think it's very fair to say we are overrated.

let em talk im going to laugh when i see the power rankings later today im sure. They can hate but we all know what type of team we have here in Baltimore one that has beaten the top teams across the NFL and im glad the players see some of the crap that media produces against the team just makes them even more hungry i would imagine. If we can secure homefield and a bye i think this team can shock the world and show how "overrated" they are.

The Steelers nearly lost to a pretty terrible Cheifs team, saved by a woeful performance by there QB, having said that why are they not considered overrated?

If anything, the Ravens are undisciplined and disinterested.

I couldn't disagree more!

Overrated teams don't beat 8-3 Pittsburgh twice, the 8-3 Texans, the 6-5 Jets, the 7-4 Bengals, and the 9-2 49ers
Hell yeah!!!!! And how are we overrated...you have to be talked about to be overrated. We're largely ignored (hence no respect) unless we're losing to a crappy team.

You read my post wrong. I meant if this was last season or the 2009 season when we were taking care of business and actually killing the teams we were supposed to beat, Tyrod Taylor would have been in against the Seahawks, Titans and Jaguars, much like Troy Smith when we had him so Flacco wouldn't get hurt in a meaningless blowout. Kind of weird to word it while typing lol

Cowherd... smh...The ravens have struggled on the road. That is something that is for sure. But I think that our team has really turned the corner. The attitude of our team has shifted a little more, and I get the feeling that we have discovered what our gameplan is now, and we stick to it. Now I don't have any black and white evidence of this, but I think we will see that again this week vs the Browns. How our entire team is playing cannot be ignored. We have blown out and soundly beaten good teams consistently.

The problem most teams have is that they can't beat the bad teams. I would much rather be in our position of losing to bad teams because that is a mental problem, not a lack of talent. I think that our team has turned the corner. People say it all the time, it isn't how you play in September and October. The ravens are headed in the right direction

I'm inclined to think we're underrated, only because I never hear the talk shows say anything decent about us..at best, I usually hear "the Ravens are a good team BUT..."

not that it really matters in the grand sheme of things. Besides, after losing to teams like Jax, TEN and SEA, we deserve whatever skepticism comes our way.

Btw, what the heck is going on with Indy?? This cant all be because of Peyton, can it?

I'll go one farther.

Colin Cowherd is the most overrated talking head on ESPN. Right up there with Skip Bayless.

The guy talks like he knows all. But I got news, he doesn't.

That Sports Nation show he's on may just be the worst/utterly useless sports talk show I've ever had the misfortune of watching.

Patriots are the most overrated team in afc. Man...i would LOVE to for Ravens to go against them in afc championship. Nothing is better than beating brady skirt to a pulp.

The media still doesn't like us because we win with a big nasty tough defense, an efficient quartetback, and by running the ball...they think we are boring. That's all, they'd rather show highlights of Rogers throwing a million td's, or spend the time covering their favorite pet tebow than showing the likes of alex smith running for his life from Terrell Suggs

The Colts have an abysmal offensive line. Aside from Jeff Saturday and their 2011 first round pick Castonzo, who can you name on that line? I've been very critical of our offensive line this year, but the truth is we're somewhere in the middle of the pack compared to the rest of the league. And people have been saying for years the the offensive talent of the Colts is lacking, and Manning makes them look better than they are. But the fact remains that most quarterbacks, including a guy like Tom Brady, wouldn't succeed with Indy's offensive line, in my opinion. Manning just gets the ball out of his hands so fast, and he's able to read defenses like nobody else in the game, so he can mask the deficiencies of the guys around him really well. And defensively the unit is also lacking, again I think Peyton makes them look better than they are because that team is almost always playing with a substantial lead. But I don't see how else you can explain the absence of one player affecting a team that has largely been together for a number of years.

I actually like Cowherd. He takes the emotion out of it and tells it like it really is. That's one of the hardest things for fans to do is to take off their rose colored glasses and emotionally detach themselves from the situation before commenting on a subject.

I have always felt that cowherd throws his emotions into it more than anyone else by a longshot...

Honestly I love the facts that the Ravens always get bad credit in the media and ESPN, NFL network and all the others talk about New England, Pittsburg, and gren bay let them crown those guys we will fly under the raidar, and now watvch who gets home feild in the playoffs. Also if you watched Monday night football I would say the saints are a bit overraited yup they got a good QB then what why did they fall so hard to the Rams after beating the colts? ESPN Monday night football crew pretty much crowned the saints talked about a NFC rematch for the NFC tittle then matched them up with the Pats in the superbowl gues we are just chopped suaye?

I wouldn't call the Falcons overrated, a lot of people were writing them off, and they're overlooked in the NFC.

Overrated would be Dallas and Philly. Dallas, because they've only beaten one team with a winning record and the media still fawns over them, and Philly because the media refuses to accept that the "Dream Team" will miss the playoffs this year.

New England is also overrated. They beat what is probably the most dysfunctional team in the league yesterday, but experts are already crowning them the best in the AFC again.
I would call the falcons overratted especially matt ryan. That will change when they finally win a playoff game.

Until then matty ice and atlanta are no different than romo and dallas. A threat on paper but not playing much in late january

I heard this one too and I hated hearing it as much as anyone else here. But it got me thinking that if we aren't truly the most over-rated then who is?

The team that immediately comes to my mind is the Broncos. All that media spin and for what, a .500 team? The Cowboys and Eagles were supposed to be invinvcible this year as well, and the Cowboys keep climbing the power polls.

But what really constitutes being over-rated? Wouldn't that mean everyone thinks they are the best team, even though the season isn't over? Wouldn't that be the Packers? It is a little early to start crowning them, or anyone for that matter.

That's OK he thinks that....I think ESPN and him are a way, way overrated sports news agency. Think about it, when was the last time they even got close to forecasting anything right in the NFL?

If it wasn't for Monday Night Football, they would be forgotten by anyone not a Steelers or Pats fan.

I am waiting for Harrison (the guy who does power ranking analysis from the NFL group) to join their team. He is their kind of guy, we could win the Super bowl, and he would keep the Steelers as #3 over us.

GO RAVENS!

Good ... we need more of that. The Ravens play their absolute best when the media doubts them. Keep it up. Reminds me of 2000 when no matter who they beat in the playoffs, no one would pick them. It was like the Ravens and the Ravens' fans against the world. I loved it.
