Cowherd: Ravens Are Most Overrated Team In NFL

139 posts in this topic

I wouldn't call the Falcons overrated, a lot of people were writing them off, and they're overlooked in the NFC.

Overrated would be Dallas and Philly. Dallas, because they've only beaten one team with a winning record and the media still fawns over them, and Philly because the media refuses to accept that the "Dream Team" will miss the playoffs this year.

New England is also overrated. They beat what is probably the most dysfunctional team in the league yesterday, but experts are already crowning them the best in the AFC again.

It's better this way, honestly. Every time people crown us the best team in the AFC, we <crap> the bed. It's like this team needs underdog status to do well.

Obviously the Steelers are the most overrated. Nearly every analyst ranks them above us, yet we have obviously beaten them twice. The Steelers also just barely beat the Chiefs last night, and barely got by the 0-11 Colts... and they are ranked above us? They are definitely the most overrated team.

We ALMOST lost to a few bad teams, but we didn't did we? We have lost to good teams. The ravens lost to a few bad teams which is why you guys are not talked about more. People do not know what to expect with this ravens team. The steelers are always overrated and for good reason. The media always brings up the past with every stat, record, win etc.. If the present season was all the talking heads had to draw on building up to games, there wouldn't be much to talk about. As far as our "close" wins, when has the ever beat down a team? Our games are gut wrenching always. But because we have come out on top in so many tight games we get the nod from the media.. I actually hate all the hype we get because i sometimes feel the steelers believe some of it and just lay eggs from time to time. Ben has even been quoted saying "Yeah, but we keep winning." That drives me nuts.. All in all, keep winning consistently and things will change..

Oh, and it is a crying shame that no one is talking about the SF game..

I dont get it, why even say it. Dont you have to have analyst praise you and say how good you are first to be overrated.

And who is exactly overrated, Our Defense ,lolololol Yea right, our defense is a beast. So is our Offense overrated, no, you have to have people praising the offense first and i havent seen that yet.

The Guy is a Tool. Nuff said.

Winning a super bowl will shut them up. Nothing less. We just need to roll now.
I honestly dont think that would shut them up, i really dont. We would have to go up against the Packers and shut them out completely and just maybe they would shut up.

I love it. We should thank ESPN for motivating our battering ram.

Cowherd also is in love with the Cowboys and Tony Romo. By the way, he isnt an analyst. He doesnt know football, he just talks to get ratings.

I cant stand the media when it involves the Ravens...They give us no love ever and then they still go out there and call us overrated is kind of ridiculous...but it wont matter in February...Time to take care of cleveland and remain under the radar, as a 1 seed

I just tune out ESPN, honestly. Their 'analysis', especially on shows like SportsNation, is just stupid and senseless opinion

If any team is overrated, it's the Giants. I know, it's easy to target them after tonight, but they lost to the Seahawks as well and their defense is just so overrated it's beyond me. Beyond their front 4 they are just bad

I'm still trying to make sense of the three losses we've had. We should be 11-0, but we beat good teams and lose to crappy teams. This has never happened in the Harbaugh era, so I'm honestly still stuck on it. If this was last year or 2009, Tyrod Taylor would have been in for Joe Flacco in the 4th quarter of each of those losses. I don't think we're underrated or overrated; we're just a "good" team, and "good" teams win championships

There is alot talking heads on espn and nfl network so this is the beginning of a epidemic of threads regarding people who thinks negatively of the Ravens.

Dude is babbling to earn a check. Same chucklehead told a caller to shoot himself! Not even sweating this........

On a good note Dierdorf sent us a lot of praise during the game. Maybe we have 3 analyst that like us

Exactly! I hope any and all networks, analysts, commentators, etc., keep this opinion of us. It seems that every time the crown is prematurely placed, we lay an egg.

Keep it up guys, great motivational tool for our machine! Hmmmm..... I wonder if any of them can return kick offs.

He doesn't like Joe Flacco (he admitted it, he favors/dislikes certain QBs) so not surprised he isn't sold on the Ravens.

Whats new boys.We never get any credit but are called overrated.smfh.Even without this comment, never really thought Colin Cowherd was anybody just listening to what he says about the NFL and NBA. The saddest part is that people still have the steelers over us in the power rankings and have us at 7 or 8,not that the power rankings matter, but it frustrates me as a fan to see my team get no respect. The sad part is that if we win it all, your gonna see so many "Raven" fans everywhere.

Why get so up in arms over someone's opinion about the Ravens? Who cares? The season will play itself out and its up to the Ravens organization to bring home the Lombardi and silence all critics! Until that happens we'll always have critics, so don't sweat it!!

Cowherd from Sports Nation just said the Baltimore Ravens are the most overrated team in the NFL. I know his excuse is going to be cause we lost to losing teams, but we dominate against winning teams. I personally think the Patriots, Steelers, and Texans are overrated. The Texans especially now because of their QB problems.

Thoughts?
If anything... that would just mean the Ravens are good. If you lost to good teams, and only won against crappy teams... THEN you'd be overrated.

So if that was his explanation, then he's confused.

If anything, the Ravens are undisciplined and disinterested. They don't play their best for a whole game, and they surely don't start many games like they were prepared and ready. Luckily for them they have plenty of talent, which is usually enough to make up for slow starts or repeated mistakes.
