The Cheaters

8 posts in this topic

Hey all. If you are from maryland and enjoy southern/hard rock music, you should check out The Cheaters. My cousin is their new bassist. I've caught them a few times at a local bar and grill in Pasadena called Nabb's Creek and also at The Whiskey. Their original music is great and they also play covers that sound better than the original bands. They're one of the few modern bands that sound as good live as they do on their CD. Check 'em out at www.thecheaters.net. I'm one of those people who is more of a home body, but when they're in town, I always try to get out and see them. I recommended 82perk to check them out. Maybe he could use one of their songs for one of his Ravens victory videos.

They arent bad.. Watched a few videos on youtube..
Guitarist is pretty good
vocals are good
drums ehh
stage presence was decent too...
They got your mainstream sound..
If they beffed up drums and/or got a 2nd guitarist, i think that would help em..

In those videos they were playing on some good size stages. Who have they played with?

They actually have a new drummer than the one seen in the "Locked and Loaded" video. He sounds pretty good to me. And they've opened for Brett Michaels in I think the Maryland State fair and also played at the Baltimore Grand Prix. I'm not 100% sure of all the states they've played in, but I know it's at least 6, including Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey. I'll have to ask my cuz. When they last played at The Whiskey in Annapolis, their drummer took his snare drum from the set and tossed it to the front of the stage and my cousin went Pete Townshend on it. My cousin sings a few songs himself and also does backup vocals. And if you want to know when a show is coming near you, you're best bet would be to go to their FaceBook page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/thecheaters

Well im in arkansas so i dont think they are making it here ha..
Ive worked a lot with live music. Im not a musician myself but i do the business side of things.. Stage presence is huge and often overlooked.
Some of the most unknown bands out there have put on the best live shows just cause of the passion and energy they bring

I got mine at one of their shows for just 5 bux. And lately they've been handing out a free promotional CD with their latest song "Hey Hey Rock N Roll" at their shows. But on iTunes, their CD's (Midnight Run and The Cheaters L.P.) are both 9.99 each. When we win the Super Bowl, I wanna try to make a video using their song "Bye Bye Baltimore Sky"
