Stevie Johnson's TD Celebration

20 posts in this topic

Well.. I'm sure we've all heard about the touchdown celebration that Stevie Johnson (WR- Buffalo Bills) did after he caught a TD pass to put the bills up 14-7 against the New York Jets.

There was two parts to the celebration.

The first part was him mocking New York Jets WR Plaxico Burress shooting himself in the leg. Burress spent 2 years in prison after accidently shooting himself in the leg at a nightclub.

The second part was him pretending to be a Jet and then crashes into the ground, like a jet crashing.

I found a GIF of the celebration, take a look.

What do you think of the celebration?

Personally, I think it's hilarious. All afternoon I had to listen to a handful of talking heads on ESPN talk about how it was classless, in bad taste, etc, etc and it only solidified my feeling. Of course he looked like an idiot after he dropped a couple of crucial passes on the final drive but the celebration, particularly shooting himself in the thigh, was too funny.

What's lost in this story is the fact that he was abusing Revis all day.

I'll admit it, I thought the leg shooting thing was hilarious. Unfortunately Plaxico had the last laugh.

Yeah, they won and Johnson dropped passes. At the end of the game he said" it didn't bother him, and that Stevie Johnson is a young talent." Then he said that he didn't care because "Johnson dropped passes the could've won them the game" :D

At the end of the day though, Plax will have to deal with two years thrown away of life and he will have the scars to show the past. If I were him, I'd get a tattoo of a bullseye to cover the useless stuff around it. He can life to tell the story!

I thought it was hilarious, too bad he cant make clutch catches though. Did you guys catch Merrill Hoge saying he would cut him for his antics...what a joke.

I found it funny as well even though as I saw it I knew he'd take a lot of flak for it. He might have been alright if he could actually catch those clutch passes. I'm sure if they'd won and he didn't drop those passes, the talking heads wouldn't have had this much to say about his TD celebration.

I know! Stevie Johnson is the Bills most talented receiver! He doesn't need to be cut! So stupid..

I thought it was funny but I knew with how sensitive people can be in today's society...he would be in some hot water over it. And then some people are trying to compare when Stevie Johnson imitated Santonio Holmes' "Jet" celebration by crashing into the ground to 9/11....c'mon man! Ridiculous!

Jets Defensive Lineman, Sione Pouha.

Good grief. If he had ran straight into the goal post, then theres something there. PLUS, he says "with us being from NY". Did he forget what State Buffalo is in??????

Oh boy. Taking it to a whole other level. Your team won Pouha, move on.

I mean if your going to make a low blow (although it is very funny) like that then you better back it up with your play. And he didn't. If he wouldn't have dropped 3 key passes then he can do whatever he wants. Otherwise he looked pretty stupid.

I'm just surprised at how well Stevie Johnson has matched up against Darelle Revis getting the best of him in their two contests. For some reason Revis plays so far off Johnson than I usually see from him with other receivers.

LMAO...the funniest response to this. I love the sarcasm...

SO GLAD someone else felt that way TOO. All that “white” on that jersey is a bit offensive, too. I also dont like the fact that he has a “3″ on his jersey because it took the buses 3 days to get to the folks in New Orleans post Katrina, and plays for a team that has a Buffalo as a mascot despite the rich history of oppression towards the buffalo.
