Possible Cam Cameron Replacements?

I agree with everything but the Jim Zorn as OC part. To many people have said he would suck as an OC, even Mike Preston from the Baltimoresun said he's horrible at calling offensive plays.

Zorn would help Flacco immensely. He already did so. That alone is worth a shot at him. If the choice is between a terrible O-coordinator who believes in a high percentage scheme and is an excellent QB coach vs. a terrible O-coordinator who believes in a low percentage scheme and is a poor QB coach, 2/3 beats 0/3 every time.

The 3 best coaches to suit the Ravens style have already been mentioned..
1) Brian Billick
2) Norv Turner
3) Josh McDonald
Zorn on the other hand has not been able to produce results solo as a HC or Oc.
Cam Cameron produced a wining season at least once in SD as a OC.. The 3 still stand as our leading candidates unless otherwise stated by Ozzie or Steve...

My point is that Zorn helped Flacco more than Cam, so he can do it again. I like Zorn over Cameron purely because he helped Joe and Joe and the other offensive players liked him. Joe wanted to keep Al Saunders because Joe and the players liked him. Instead, both are gone, Cam is still here. The same cannot be said for Cam Cameron. I believe the vast majority of the players, including Joe, do not trust Cam Cameron. When Zorn was fired, Joe had something to say about it. When asked about Cam, Joe was evasive and gave nothing but PC answers. And about San Diego, remember Cam did the same thing here, with a young quarterback, he ran the ball because he had no choice. In 2006 the Chargers went to the AFC Championship game running the ball. In 2008 the Ravens went to the AFC Championship game primarily running the ball. When Cam has no choice because he has young quarterbacks, and he HAS to run the ball, then he does well. When he thinks his quarterback is capable of throwing for 6000 yards a season, he goes pass-happy. And most importantly, Zorn is a West Coast guy. I like the West Coast offense better than Air Coryell, have said it for a while now. That's why I'd rather have Zorn than Cam. When it comes down to do or die, I want a guy that my quarterback believes in, and if that's Jim Zorn, then that's my guy.

When/where was Zorn an OC? I know Washington hired him to be, but immediately promoted him to HC.

Zorn was put into a position to fail as a HC. He was hired as the OC, then was promoted to HC when Gibbs retired in the offseason. The team started 6-2, but finished 8-8. Zorn's offense had 4 probowlers. Jason Campbell had the best statistical season of his career in 2008 under Zorn, and started out hot in 2009. Then Zorn was fired and he fell apart. Cam Cameron has never, ever in his entire career, proven to develop a quarterback on his own. He always had somebody better ( i.e. Marty Schottenheimer, Norv Turner, Al Saunders ) around. Try to find an example of where Cam was solely responsible for the development of a quarterback. There are none. Joe was at his best with Jim Zorn and Al Saunders here last year. Now all he has is Cam, and he's regressed. Coincidence, I think not.

If we're going to talk about O-Coordinator arrogance, I personally think Cam has more arrogance than McDaniels. Cam is a "round holes" kind of guy. He loves his Air Coryell system, and he will call plays that don't suit his players just because he loves his system so much. I have still NOT heard any kind of logical explanation of why Ray Rice had 8 carries against the Jacksonville Jaguars when 2 touchdowns would have won the game. I still have NOT heard an explanation from anyone other than Flacco as to why Ray Rice had 5 carries against the Seattle Seahawks, and none in the second half. The Seahawks won in part because their defense was able to focus completely on the pass. Everyone saw Ray Rice sitting on the bench, including the Seahawks, who said so after the game. One 15-20 yard run by Rice in the second half would have forced the Seahawks to honor the run, and Joe could have hit Torrey Smith for a TD and won the game. I still have NOT heard an explanation as to why last year we lost to the Patriots in overtime because 1) Cam got conservative and stopped passing in the second half which allowed the Pats to tie, and then 2) he goes into overtime and gets even more conservative and tries to dink and dunk his way across the field when being aggressive is what got us all the points, and the end result was a punt anyway. Cam not only consistently calls poor game plans, but he never owns up to them. Kurt Warner even said a few weeks ago that the Ravens' biggest problem is that Cam is a stubborn guy who doesn't play to the strengths of his team.
Preach on.... I still don't understand that either, and that Seattle game also had me furious at Harbaugh for attempting to back-up Cams lack of an explanation.....

Not sure if I really want him but he will likely be canned at the end of the season. ofcourse he could easily find another job somewhere as a Head Coach but maybe he would like to go to a winning team for a bit before going into full on rebuild mode in Jacksonville, Arizona,Indy, St Loius, or San Diego.

I will say that I do not want Norv Turner and I think we can all rule out Jim Zorn.

Yeah, thats not happening.....

Andy Reid is a HC. And to say he'd become a coordinator under his former ST coach is flat out hilarious.

To add a new candidate, Mike Sherman just got fired as Texas A&M's HC.

Was pretty successful with GB running the west-coast offense and is an excellent o-line coach as well.

If Andy Reid is fired, he'd probably be the hottest commodity on the HC market. IDK how many times a head coach who's been to 5 NFC Championship games is suddenly available.

Still don't think the they'll <have the guts> to can Cam if we finish with a good record.
I agree EC. We're going to finish with a good record, that's for sure. But if we lose in the playoffs because our offense can't produce, I'll be livid if he signs a new contract with the team. But I just don't see them (Harbaugh) <having the guts> and kicking him out the door

Harbaugh will never get rid of Cameron Cameron. In fact, he will give Cameron Cameron a game ball the next time we win. Just Watch.

I know right? I hope I'm wrong but I just get this feeling that it's what's going to happen. I hope not though. We're either statistically worse or not much better in every offensive category.

Norv Turner or Jim Zorn but Harbs is never gonna fire Cam. It'll have to come from upstairs.
Thats never a good sign when you're the HC.

You should never have to go over the head of your teams HC, unless he himself was being fired.

Is it just me or were there like 3 deep balls to Smith that went incomplete and 3 passes to Vonte Leech of all people that went incomplete? I'm telling you this is why Cam has to go. When his gameplans are executed they may look good, but it's almost impossible to execute them! I want an offensive coordinator that calls high percentage plays, and plays to the strengths of the players we have, not one who has his own gameplan and is trying to recreate "The Greatest Show on Turf". The only reason we've won so many games in the past 4 years is because of our defense. This offense is way too inconsistent, there has to be a change.
