thats what i always think.. There are soo many people that just post on the news section.. I mean i know the news is featured on the main page but im surprised that more of them dont trickle over to.the actual forum

Only if you can divide the sections. When I went to San Diego for the game a few years back I went on the Chargers boards to ask about the stadium and things to do and what not. I had to get fifty posts to start a new thread and it was a real pain to do that since there was not a lot of responses I could make on a Chargers message board.

I think out of towners would like the opportunity to post things about visiting with out having to jump through hoops.

That's a good point. But messaging a Mod is an option if they're an out-of-towner. I think 15 is too low in my opinion. Like I said, 100 sounds good. But it's not a huge deal, just a pet peeve

That is never going to happen. Feelings run too " hot" on those subjects and those discussions turn fan against fan. The purpose of these forums is to foster a sense of Ravens Community, not destroy it.

Oh man, I think about that all the time when the board gets lite with new material and I migrate over there. Its like a whole different world full of one worders and "enlightening" posts. I cringe, make a snide remark and then leave!

it does mean nothing because there is no overall stat, i know of one hockey website that keeps track, im sure there r more, but i dont know why they all dont have this feature

its been brought up before. There used to be a full rep system that kept track of everyone's "rep" but it was taken down. I believe it had to do with people (potential employers, etc.) being able to look you up and use the info. I think that's why it was taken down. not a 100% sure though

I think that employer thing was just a discussion we had about potential employers reading posts and such and making decisions based on that. Kinda like how they find drunk pics or whatever on face-book and fire people based on those.

I think the rep system was 86'd simply because of its uselessness.

The problem is there is SO FEW people who can carry on an intelligent, respectful, [b]discussion [/b] on topics like religion and politics. In this case MANY bad apples spoil it for the bunch.

I am sure if the powers that be thought for a second it could be respectful and civil, then they might give it a go. But when people here get all wound up over Flacco, Tyrod and Cam, it would be a million times worse on religion and politics.

I my self love a good discussion on those topics but I hate it when loud mouth know nothings ramble on with zero substance, which, no disrespect to any one here, would be the norm.

I am glad they have that policy.

[/quote]No the problem was 2 people had requested their accounts be deleted because of the rep system and potential employers AND the people that would go around in groups and neg rep the people they did not like or fans of opposing teams--middle school behavior at its best.

You are correct--the first meeting we had with the Media team as potential mods we had to lobby for the Off Topic forum, There is no way this could work. I am on a Ravens board with a political forum and it was almost shut down after the last election--it was awful.

Not sure but in this economy we did not want to be the reason someone did not get a job. In the feedback or question forum I actually posted an article I found on the subject it is not BS. I was watching the Dallas Cowboy cheeleader thing on CMT and they cut a girl because of Facebook.

I remember I was one of the people that complained a lot about it. I hate negatives, and I swear I have one or two people on here who will hate everything I say because I disagreed with them at one point and they didn't like what I had to say. I never neg anyone, I swear. I just think they're unnecessary. If you agree with someone, say why.

Yeah. I'm not getting this either. I get the Facebook party pics stuff, but the rep system thing is not making sense to me.

@ Romo I agree--don't be a back stabber. It was supposed to make the moderator work load lighter lol It was awful! If you were dealing with reasonable adults in theory it works well.
