One of my pet peeves with this site is "BR.com". If I type in www.BR.com in my browser it takes me to a custom Portuguese Google search site. I wish everyone would stop slacking off and just spell it out: BaltimoreRavens.com.

It is a pretty catching logo they have. The tri-colors is blowing my mind.

Back on topic, people who think the rep system means anything more than absolutely nothing.
I just gave you a -1 to hurt your feelings. Now you should ask "why did somebody give me a negative rep for stating the obvious". Then somebody will post "I fixed it for you +1".

Spelling something out in the age of twitter? Ha!

When Mod 5 gets a Monty Python reference and Mod 3 clearly does not, lol. Wow.

Go watch Holy Grail immediately!
Perhaps you have your mods confused? Mod 3 is a big Monty Python fan. Doesn't make any posted quotes automatically acceptable, though.

Mentioning air speed velocities of laden swallows and chopping trees with herring is unacceptable??? Oy Vey. Clearly off topic a bit but it had something to do with what 1/28/01 had mentioned so just barely. He even showed how his peeve could be satiated by a quick google search so it was brought right back on topic.

Mod 5 "deleted" that post of mine last night but it was a joke delete (never actually deleted and playing on the peeve of deletions), even had 8p~ at the end of the deletion explanation!!! Funny!!! Then this morning I guess you came and cleaned up more. :( It was actually a great thing to see before it was all erased. Showed you Mods are human, lol. Oh well, It was a great string of posts that I DID put back on topic with my rep system comment but your delete button is mighty and your tolerance for even going a slight wobble off topic is extremely limited. Meh.

It's just way too long to write lol. That's too long of a title for a thread.

Actually... I don't understand this being a "pet peeve" as it's really just a way to shorten BaltimoreRavens.com. You still access the forum through www.baltimoreravens.com, it's not like they changed it to "BR.com". People just say BR.com just because it's shorter and plus everyone knows what it means anyway.

This has probably already been stated but I am too lazy to read through em all: I am really getting sick of the "we get no respect threads". Get over it!

Also something that bugged me was during a game having threads in "Ravens Talk" locked because in-game discussion has to take place in the "Game Threads" forum.

This bothers me for 2 reasons: 1st) I think we should be able to discuss Ravens topics in the "Ravens Talk" forums whenever we want to (unless there is some technical reason why this cant happen) 2nd) Its almost impossible to have an actual discussion about a specific play or facet of a game in the game thread because of the volume of posts.

Overall, I think this board is excellent. Lots of good discussion and the Mods do a great job. Much better than every other NFL board I have spent time on.

Oh and this has nothing to do with the board, but I hate when people wear socks with sandals!!!

What bothers me the most is......

My número uno peeve here is the open ended thread titles.

"we need to do this because...."
Or
"my favorite part of our D is...."

JUST SAY IT!!! This isn't a marketing mid term. You don't need to use these tactics to draw me in.

Don't know why it bugs me so much but it's getting to be an epidemic.

Two reasons why we lock new game-related threads in Ravens Talk when a game is in progress:

1) It's much easier for our crew to moderate a singular thread with all of the traffic that we get on gameday;

2) Most new threads started during a game are based on snap judgments or emotions. It usually doesn't end well and the OP ends up saying something to embarass themselves or the fanbase.

That makes sense, its just bothersome to discuss specific in-game topics when there is such a high volume of posts in the Game Thread.

Ha, I've given some people flack for that. Especially the ones like "I was just thinking...". And of course if there are tags, they're something like "Ravens, thinking, just".

Then, as with everything on the internet, people who can't spell "you're".

Also, all the posts in the gameday thread that say "yeahhhhhh!" or "omg!!!!!!!!!" or the name of the player who did something. I use the gameday thread to check what's going on since I watch most games online in poor quality. And I have to scroll through every page one by one. Most pages end up having the same post 20 times over.
That's another thing, there should be a way to navigate to a certain page in a thread rather than the next one or the last one.

Regarding the last two pet peeves listed (topic titles and single word/very short posts):

Per Forum Code of Conduct:

Please use descriptive and accurate subject titles for your posts. Abiding by this rule assists members in utilizing discretion when selecting content to read. It also serves to notify members if a particular topic has already been posted and discusses, and potentially prevents multiple threads being started on the same topic. False posts, including unfounded rumors, or misleading subject titles are deceptive at the expense of the membership, devalues the forums and the content it provides, and is considered a serious offense.

Please refrain from posting meaningless threads. Please put some thought into your contribution to the community discussion. Very short (one - three word) responses or nonsense posts do not add value to the topic. For example, only the words, "I dunno," or "lol cool," is considered spam. Do not make an effort to "bump" threads by posting "bump," "up top," "high five," or other short comments in order to move a thread to the top of the list. Such posts are subject to deletion to keep the threads uncluttered and clean looking for better reading.

My pet peeve is when a joke is made in an off-topic thread and it is deleted for no apparent reason. Wasn't harmful and was just some simple, witty banter back and forth with a fellow BR member. AND it was related to the topic at hand.

At the top right-hand side of the thread page (at least when you're in the thread) there's a little Go to first unread post link. You can use that to pick up where you left off. Also, you can back up 3 pages at a time by using the page number references at the top and bottom of the thread page.

I hate the titles in Ravens talk that state something like

"I feel like......"
"I had a dream......"

First off, nobody cares what you feel like. Secondly what you feel is probably not even right.

Then I really hate when people in Ravens talk refer to something working in Madden. "I put Tyrod in on Madden and he was throwing more accurately than Joe".

People who think their thoughts on an already being discussed subject are worthy of a new thread. I get especially peeved when they then complain that their threads were merged into the one they should have replied to.

I agree. They truly believe that they have some profound insight that deserves a thread of its own. When in ALL likeliness it best fits in an already existing thread and probably has already been stated.

BTW, my mommy says posts don't really get deleted. They go off to neverneverland where they mingle with each other while sipping pina Coladas by the gamethread pools.
