Br.com Pet Peeves

I don't know about you guys, but I have some pet peeves with this board. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the forums. But these are just some things that irk me.

1.) I hate it when I'm on BR.com on my iPhone, and I try to click on the title of the thread, but I accidentally click the person who made it. Then that person thinks I'm viewing his or her profile -______-

2.) I can't STAND it when a post of mine is deleted without the Mod telling me he or she did it!

3.) The threads that say to bench Flacco and start Tyrod. Stop, please!

4.) We can't talk about religion or politics

5.) Everytime a girl signs up, her profile is viewed by about 10 men in one minute. Lol.

6.) Not knowing who was a Mod and who wasn't. Now I know because I think you guys are in blue.

7.) People who can't spell. The worst!

So these are just 7 of mine, in no particular order. What irks you?

Lmao at #5. I don't like not being able to type in caps or use exclamation marks. I'm a very passionate person so I like to use exclamation marks and also I use caps sometimes to put emphasis on a word. I don't mind the politics and religion thing. I don't vote other than on some of the polls on here. I don't mind bad spelling because it could be a typo. One thing I do a lot on here is just gett off topic. Luckily I revise a lot of my posts before I submit them because I've written entire paragraphs that have gone off topic.

Yea.. I hate not being able to use CAPS either lol. I just think that we can't talk about religion or politics because they're sensitive topics, and some people could get heated. But either way, it would be nice to discuss some things pertaining to those two subjects once in a while. I guess that's what PM's are for. I've been around long enough to know who uses bad grammar and who doesn't. The worst thing is that there's a member on here that constantly bashes people, but hee tipes lke ths.

You CAN capitalize words, just not entire sentences!!! (and use punctuation marks)

On topic:

I cannot stand when people misspell our own players names. Just recently someone signed up and spelled "Pitta" like the bread in his/her username. Hilarious...

And of course, the repetitious threads about the same things and more so when someone creates a new topic literally 3 spots above the existing one.

Thats about it for me.

Opposing team fan bases who come here talking how their favorite team is going to stomp the Ravens. Then when their favorite team loses, they never show back up. At least eat your crow for your left-overs.

If you want to see people eat crow after losing to us, go on youtube. There are plenty of fans in what's known as the TTC or trash tralking circle and quite a few 49ers have done crow vids, giving us props for our win. I always like to watch them. And I also forgot to say I also can't stand the "Bench Flacco Start Tyrod Taylor" threads.

I like the Board and the way the Mods moderate the Board. I don't have Pet Peeves but some suggestions. When Roger Goodell fines a player at least the player knows what he did and why he got the fine whether he likes it or not. Here are on the Board, they remove our posts without telling us why they did and if it violated the COC. So maybe the Mod who removes the post could at least PM the person and explain why it was removed.

The one thing I really like to see is the Forum being more used than it should be in articles here on the website. Here's an example, maybe in the Mailbag article, maybe one time it could be answering questions from people here on the Board. Another thing that would be cool is if we took maybe 2 or 3 topics, asked members to give an opinion on it. Example, You would say what the topic is,

"After The Ravens defeated the 49ers, are they the team to beat in the AFC?"

Jo_75: I would write my response

Franchise: Franchise would write his response

Romo Ravens: He would write his response

ATD: He would write his response.

Topic # 2: Is John Harbaugh a Candidate for Coach Of The Year?

Same Format but Different Members.

You guys pretty much covered up everything..

I'd also like to be notified via PM whenever a post of mine is deleted instead of just seeing it vanish. Not to argue with the reasoning behind the decision but to know what I did wrong so I don't do it again next time. I wouldn't want to find the reason out via an increase on my warning level..

Other than that, not really a pet peeve but I'm quite amazed by the lack of common sense in some people's posts, especially in Ravens Talk.. Oh and I'm sure everyone's annoyed by the occasional fan who joins the forum just to talk trash and when his team loses, he never shows up again.. Kudos to the 49ers fans who joined the forum last week for not being like that.

Some people spell 'Boldin', 'Boulden' or 'Bouldin'..... and thats AFTER they are told the correct spelling ten times over. One time someone said they'd spell the name they wanted to spell it..... lol

Regarding getting a PM when a post is deleted...when traffic is heavy (which happens a lot), there just plain isn't time to PM everyone politely explaining the delete. If we send a quick PM, we're accused of being 'curt". Our instructions from the Admin staff are to delete the post and move on. Most of the time you "know" or suspect why it was deleted anyhow: It broke one of the basic rules or it quoted back a post that broke the rules. When a post is way over the top, you do get a PM through the formal warning system.

Regarding politics and religion...those discussions get way too heated and work against the sense of "Ravens Community" we're trying to foster. We will never allow certain subjects.

moderator 5, you see after your last post there, there is the miller light picture thing? or mod 2s post a wee bit up were he says about taking a screen shot of the redirects, there is the wee pic of the college bowl thingy? they are the redirects that i get when i post in the game threads, it only happens in them, instead of going back to the topic it just comes up with a wee pic like the ones i mentioned in the top left corner then you have to re type the website address and go back into the thread.. its my pet peeve

Oh, don't you worry... I, and many others, would call them very different names with a unique flavor if it was allowed in this forum, rest assured. But apparently, that is frowned up in this establishment (for a good reason, but I was referencing the talking baby commercial lol)

In regards to the deletion of posts or topics without explanation, we usually [i]try[/i] to let you know why we do it, but in many cases, there's heavy traffic and we can't always get back to everyone.

Many of you have gotten PMs from me in the past about why things were deleted, but the majority of us are multi-tasking when we Moderate. We could be doing any number of things, from exchanging PMs with one another regarding policy, to scanning multiple heavy-traffic threads at once, to responding to other PMs that we get regarding general questions. Our inboxes are ridiculously stacked.

So yes, we hear you on this one. We'll do what we can, but we can't guarantee results in improving communication with you guys, especially in the 24-48 hours after kickoff when traffic is at its highest.

I absolutely love this forum. I have to say this is the best forum on the whole internet, not to mention the best sports forum on the net. But with all things come downfalls. Glad to say, this place has very few downfalls far and between. Thats more than many other sites can claim. Here is my list:

1) Posts being deleted without PM (but I have to say, I believe the mods have done a wonderful job outside of game days in telling us why and which post was deleted; and they have also done a great job of showing us why they can't tell everyone everything on game day)

2) The ads we get when we post in the Game Day section. I'm proud to say though that this problem is being checked into, if not already fixed by now.

3) Some people get by with more than others. However, I can understand leniency toward some members who have been here for years. And we don't know what goes on behind closed doors through PM and warnings; only mods do

Other than that, and a few select posters who switch stances every week on Flacco being the starter based on game to game performances disregarding Cam's horrid playcalling, that pretty much sums up some of my 'peeves'. I look forward to helping in the continuance of making this the best place to talk anything on.

I just posted something in the Cleveland/Bengals Thread and after I hit post I got the white page with a ad in the left corner. Should I upload it in the Redirects Thread in Feedback or PM you Mod 2?

After I posted this I got it again so I have 2 screen shots. I also just cleared my Cache and Cookies to see if that helps.
