If You Were Coach Of The Ravens What Would Be The Biggest Change You Would Make?

I would have never let David Reed return kicks.
Idk about never, ever let him return kicks, because he was a pretty prolific kick returner even as recently as early this season. But I sure as heck wouldn't let him keep returning kicks and messing the game up for us, which I'm glad Harbs stood up and took him off of those duties.

My addition I'd bring to the table would be to take all the offensive playcalling duties and fire Cam. I mean, sometimes it looks like a Kindergartener calling plays on O, but others it looks like Cam has actually went into a game ready to win the game. But this kind of inconsistency is killer, so I'd not let him call plays for the team again.

Remove David Reed from being active on gameday. I just don't understand how he was considered to be our slot reciever before this season. And the dude has really let us down on special teams. Fumbling and failing to down that perfect punt by Koch against the 9'ers. If you play special teams as the only thing you should know better than getting distracted by the returner waiving fair catch.
And i would give every player a chance to prove himself on gameday. Not just talking about Kindle, because he did get a couple of plays, but thinking about every player in every year.

You might as well eliminate firing Cam Cameron.

Everyone sensible will say that.
Sure he's good in some games, but in others, he just looks lost and out of his element with the playcalls. Inconsistency is a killer for a team. I actually think his whole problem is not being able to adjust within the flow of the games. If a D is stopping your plays, you need to look at what you can do better, or do more/less of, in order to move the ball. For him, its like he just keeps on trying to force the issue instead of adjusting. So no, one good game does not take him off any kind of hot seat. Wait until the playoffs when he tries pulling his kind of crap.

Easy to say that after he fumbled twice in a game or do you forget Reed leading the league in KR avg last season including a return for TD?

I think the past two games have been coached very well, with the exception of a couple plays. Honestly, I don't have much to complain about. We got back to the run and were very effective on 3rd downs. My only complaint would be the lack of downfield attempts, but the gameplan seemed to be focused on possessing the ball and not making mistakes which we executed perfectly.

Yeah, it is easy to say, because this is a "what have you done for me lately" league. And it is a bunch of bad decisions that has led to the decision.

That's what I was thinking. If he would of coached every game this season like he did the past couple weeks, we'd be 11-0.

What the problem with saying, 'never would have let Reed return kicks for us' is the fact that, before he screwed up majorly, he was considered a top kick returner, who did wonders for our return game last year. How could we know that he'd go from being considered great all the way to being considered cut-worthy in a matter of a few short weeks?? The question is not should we keep letting him return kicks because we all know that answer, a resounding no. The fact of the matter is, hindsight is always 20/20. It would make no sense at all to bench someone who had just beasted it up just because one had a premonition that he'd start messing things up at the flick of a light switch.

You misunderstood my post.

I said take that out of the way, because that is the only right answer.

Cam must be fired.

I'm glad we are on the same page, my friend. Its just sickening that people see him being great after a few games again lol. He may be good one week, then the worst coach the very next. That'll never change because he doesn't believe in adjusting to the game flow.

I think so to, but i'm still thinking about that if Cam would not have been so swinging in play selection maybe teams would have shut us down a lot more if we just ran the ball 80% of the time or something. So it might have givin us the win over the 49'ers and Steelers that they just didn't know what side of the Ravens they were getting?
But i still dislike Cam :P

I mean that Reed has made a couple of bad decisions the last couple of weeks in the return game. But i'm still not on the cut David Reed bandwagon, just deactivate him for a couple of games and give another player a chance to get some ST playing time.

The first game was coached okay by Cam i would say. Haven't seen the Colts have a game like that yet

well as HC I would not have the authority to fire Cam, so that is out.

First thing I would do is get a whole bunch of footballs signed and sell them on e-bay.

After that I am not completely sure what I would do. The job of a head coach in the NFL is WAY WAY out of my skill level and I am not even completely sure what his duties does and does not include.
That said if I were the head coach of the RAVENS I would most likely call John Harbaugh and ask him what to do since I think he is doing a fine job any way.

Agreed 110%. When I say good, I mean 'good for Cam' which is enough for our O to be sucessful

Im just saying that a OC who has called plays for 3 years, in witch we have been to the playoffs all those years can't be that bad... That being said, i also think it is time for a change, he can't take this offense the next step. But lets not hate him that much. He has done great things for the offense, don't forget that.

So the Steelers game was garbage? The playoff game in NE was a horrible game? Im NOT saying that he is a good OC, but we still need to remember the good games.

Some games his horribleness just isn't horrible enough to overcome all that talent.

I would still make sure that we don't hire Cam 2.0 aka. Norv Turner. Just another air it out coach from san diego. He will not be what we need in this offense, I THINK that we need a OC that is known for running the football, and not airing it out.
