Where has he been the past 12 weeks? Truth be told, i never had chance to really look at what he has done yet.

Has he been effective? Anyone that has seen him, give me some details.

Inconsistent so far, he started off well but has had a bunch of bad games too, he can hold his ground at times but others he'll get driven backwards by a single smaller lineman. Also a few of the rushing touchdowns we've given up are directly his fault.

The best of the D tackles is Ngata because he will punch right through 1 offensive lineman so you have to throw 2 at him... By that time someone in the box is already at the QB!

In the games I've seen him play he has looked anywhere from solid to excellent. I imagine he would be having some troubles taking over at the NT position for a defense that demands a lot out of its players, but it's also tough to evaluate a NT. It's like evaluating a guard, you mostly only hear about them when they've screwed up.

He plays nose tackle. When his teammates dominate it means Cody is doing his job.

Hes shown flashes but has looked bad at times as well. But thats to be expected from a first year starter.

He is doing a good Job, but to be great he needs to hit the weights hard. He doesn't look very strong in the trenches. I would like to see him dominate his position.

He's been pretty effective, ive seen him get a good amount of push a number of times and he is def doing his job which is to eat up blocks and push the line of scrimmage backwards

I think Cody and haloti should not have dropped all that weight. I notice this year some teams are getting some push directly up the middle. Cody is having a solid season, but isn't as stout after losing all that weight but is playing more plays.

Inconsistent at times but he's done his part for having a top 5 rushing defense. He hasnt been dominate just yet, needs more NFL experience.

To me, he is doing a good job eating up lineman on pass rushing situations, but he is inconsistent in run stopping situations. Sometimes he gets excellent penetration into the backfield, while other times he is pushed back way off the line of scrimmage. As he gets more playing time, Im sure he will get better.

I didn't think I'd ever say this but I agree Cody is too thin now, 330lb is too small for a 6'5" nose tackle. He could also use a hard offseason in the weightroom to put on some high quality weight.

Ngata's weight loss helped his speed though, this was evident with the pressures he was getting until a few weeks ago when he tweaked his thigh. I think it works for Ngata.

We can have a scary Dline if Cody puts on some muscle weight in the offseason. If he ends up 340-350 and solid like Ngata, he will be a force.

I believe Mayock said on TNF that they tipped the scales at 339(Ngata) and 349(Cody)

Almost every game I've heard nothing but praise for Cody from the analysts... he's not an up-the-field rusher like Ngata, but he devours blocks and stuffs the run game. He's been a beast for us, and he's only getting better.

Cody's probably going to bulk up during the offseason. He's been solid and I expect him to improve a lot. He obviously worked hard at losing weight, so hopefully he gains the right kind of weight.

He's obviously contributing to our beast of a pass rush. Looks like Ngata and Suggs are over their injuries after Thursday's game too!

Inconsistent. One week he plays like an elite defensive linemen, and then he gets manhandled the next week. It was hard to watch him during the Seattle game. He was getting absolutely manhandled. But then he has a lights out game against San Francisco. Very inconsistent. From a technique standpoint he's doing better but he still plays too high at times. He's a little slow out of his stance at times. But he's doing better.

I think the weight he lost hurt and helped him. It helped his endurance, and he lost mostly fat. But, what made Cody such a big prospect was just his immense size. His size is what made him good. He dropped 20 or so pounds of fat this offseason, I'd like to see him get back up to 350 with 20 pounds of muscle. He needs to get stronger. It still looks like he relies too much on his size and not enough on his technique and his own strength, so stronger centers have their way with him.

guys like Cody dont get their names mentioned a lot unless they make a huge play, tip a pass, get a sack with pressure up the middle, etc

even Ngata if quiet for long spells...and check his tackle numbers...they aren't great but for guys like Ngata and Cody they dont need to be...they hold down that DL and take on double, sometimes triple teams so other guys run free

While I don't think anyone expected him to be an 80 tackle guy like Gregg, he needs to be consistent at what he is doing well now and that's anchoring the middle. We can't afford for him to have any bad games in the postseason.
