I'm curious , does it taste like chicken ?

Great game. If the Ravens were to suffer an untimely exit from the playoffs , I now know the team I would root for thereafter. The Niners have my respect , and if you're at all representative , so do their fans.

Your team will finish at 13-3 minimum , and hopefully 14-2 by beating the Steelers. Either way , that's an awesome performance. If the Niners play like they did against us , they'll beat the Steelers at home. There won't be any more nine sack games - Harbs Jr. will make sure of that.

Let's meet again in Indy. It'll be great fun , for both teams.

Sweet, thanks.

Once again congratulations, you guys look like the favorite from the AFC in my opinion especially with flacco playing solid like he is.

Troy the head&shoulders guy likes to blitz from the outside a lot so i would expect Smith to be sacked numerous times that day. I saw you on the Niners board.

yeah that's definitely possible, i'm hoping though that we have miller and snyder back to reinforce our line a little bit.

All in all i think if we play like we did last night but eliminate some penalties we can take them.

Great game played by the Ravens. Losing Adam Snyder and Bruce Miller really hurt our pass protection more than I would have expected. There was one play where you guys got pressure so fast I thought it was a screen!

But man, you guys are some classy fans. I have to say, I would rather hang out here than on the 49ers forums. Everyone is saying Smith sucks, blah blah blah.

Anyhow, what are the weaknesses of the Steelers? How do you think we can exploit them?

I popped in to take a look at this thread and check out the responses. I just wanted to add one little thing. Mostly it's for the mods but also you fans too. Hopefully I've earned enough latitude to say this. It has to do with talking smack.

I stated in one post about Ray Lewis' injury, "I want him to play... I don't want to hear any excuses when we beat you in your own house."

That was interpreted as "smack talk" and it wasn't really meant to be. And I don't think stating a relatively mild hope and opinion is smack talk. I was being an honest fan of an opposing team. And God knows NFL fans like to make up excuses as to why their team lost.

If I had said things like "Flacco sucks. He scrambles like a little girl and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn at 10 yards." or "Suggs couldn't sack groceries if his life depended on it." or "Your D-line is prettier than your cheerleaders!" lolol
Then THAT would've been smack talk.

I'm glad nobody banned me. I appreciate it. And I'm sorry if anyone was offended by my post.
I'm only saying this to give, perhaps, a small amount of perspective on what is or isn't smack talk.

I'm done posting until February. :D
Peace... Out.

Niners played a great game too, your defense is outstanding.

As for the Steelers, you basically need to follow the same game-plan that we played against the Niners. Control TOP and dont turn over the ball. Establishing the run will be key. Their D-line is not what it used to be--they can definitely be run on. You definitely dont want to be in a lot of 3rd and longs with Harrison and Woodley bringing pressure. In the passing game, you want to attack their safeties. TP is a playmaker, but he is also a liablity in coverage and Ryan Clark probably has the biggest mouth in the NFL, but also not a great player. My concern would be if your WRs are good enough to be a consistent downfield threat. Vernon Davis across the middle may be a mismatch.

On Defense you wont have any problems stopping their run game and they may not even try to establish it. Mendenhall is average, but can hit a big run every once in a while. They are now a passing team with some very talented WRs and Big Ben always looking to extend plays. Keep him contained and try to get pressure up the middle. He is very hard to bring down, but he also tends to hold on to the ball too long and is susceptible to some fumbles or bad throws that can lead to TOs. Jam their WRs and play them physical, but you always have to have at least 1 deep safety with their speed.

Very respectful and classy post. Your D is pretty good too! It's hard to win @The Bank!

Those losses perplex us as well lol

Good luck for the rest of your season. Knock them Steelers about for us!

If we do happen to cross paths @ the SB, I hope you'll understand if we give you more of the same that you saw on Thanksgiving! :)

Two big ifs....1) If the the calls in that game were reversed...this forum would have blown up, the fans would have been apoplectic. 2) If the Niners pass rush gives Ben Rothlesshoweveryouspellhisname that kind of time he will throw for 4 TDs and 450 Yards.

Classy of you to return good sir. Remember, you are welcome to stay active. We do have other active members who root for teams other than the Ravens. (Although our resident steeler fans seem to have vanished since around september. I wonder why...)

Honestly I think this year the best tactic is to run right at them. Their D line isnt what's normally expected from the Steelers so its possible to blow the line off the line of scrimmage.

I remember how Joe Montana lead that incredible drive to win the SB. The dark years of losing may be in the past for the niners now that the Harbaugh era has begun. We were skeptical here in Baltimore too, but we believe in our coach. I will be cheering for them against the Steelers. We need them to lose to a few more opponents before the end of the year. The Bengals game will be a challenge for us again. I don't think that we will lose again if we bring the heat like we did last night. Even Rogers was impressed with that display of manliness.

Great game last night, congratulations Ravens. I do have a question though, how do you feel your matchup vs us compares to vs the Steelers and how do you feel we matchup against them?
I think you can beat the Steelers at home. But their offense doesn't match up with your D to well. They really don't have success running the ball and focuse more in on the pass. Ben is ofcourse really good at eluding the first pass rush wave to find plays deep down the field.

Offensively. They can be run on. Their pass rush isn't the same as past years. Gore should do okay.

Your boys were a lot tougher than I expected. They held us to 1 TD, and you maintained that no rush TD record. 49ers are for real. Kudos. I would love to see a rematch in the SB. Good luck beating the Steelers, I really think you have a good chance to do it. Besides them, I do not think you are going to have any trouble with the rest of your schedule. At least they should give you a game worth watching. Tell the rest of your fans that 14-2 is not a shameful record.

The Niners are a team that can win now.....I just don't know if your QB can get it done...I know some people say that of Joe but I've seen Joe bring us back, I know Joe can win in the playoffs under all kinds of pressure

not hating..just saying

I like the Niners' chances against the Steelers, since I really do think the Steelers' D is not as strong as they like to think (not that they would ever admit it).

Knock off Pittsburgh and if we can both do our parts, maybe we can have a rematch in Feb. I'd be okay with that. The 9ers are for real and despite being sacked 9 times, I don't think Alex Smith put you in a position to lose. If any QB is getting sacked and hit that many times, he wouldn't play well. Most would throw picks or fumble more. So I salute his toughness. A couple of years ago, in the playoffs, in Foxborough, we banged on Brady like that and he threw a couple of picks and fumbled. So nothing to feel bad about when your QB is getting popped like that. The Oline is the issue.

Just popped in to congradulate the Ravens and give props to you fans for backing your team. It was a clean game with both teams dealing with injured players and your team's backups really stepped up to dominate the line of scrimmage.

The Ravens have an AWESOME defense!!! I couldn't believe they sacked Alex 9 TIMES! Damn. Unbelievable. How they've managed to lose three games to weak opponents is truly perplexing. You're much better than your record indicates.

The game went pretty much as I predicted it would... except we lost.
Lots of field goals and few, in this case one, TD. I was proud of my Niners for holding up our streak of not allowing a rushing TD. And not allowing a TD in the first half for 5 games now. I was STOKED to see Alex throw a 75 yard TD pass play to Ted Ginn. Even more stoked to see Ginn actually catch it. Both things are beyond rare. Bummer that the chop block penalty negated it but it was the right call. Niner fans shouldn't be complaining about it.

Good luck in your playoff run. Maybe the Niners can help by beating the Steelers for you. And MAYBE we can meet again in the Superbowl.

So again, props to you guys. On that day, the best team won. And thank you for being such gracious hosts to a visitor.

Nothing like a nights sleep with a mouth full of crow. See ya'll next time you're on our schedule.

I saw the 49ers forum you made a post on about the comments here. I tried to make a account there to say good game and such(I post on ALOT of teams forums). The account was declined. So I had to make my account pwillystyle52 and it was accepted. Makes sense
