The NFL Referee

28 posts in this topic

Had to pop into the 49ers forums one last time. A lot of them pointing the finger at the ref for the loss..

I thought the officiating wasn't spectacular as they missed a fair bit of calls for both sides but it more or less evened out in the end. I'm officially never going to cry about the refs "screwing us" again after a loss (hopefully we don't have anymore losses though :D ) .. seeing another teams fans doing it looks tacky so I can only imagine how pathetic it looks when some of us do it here.

Unless it's an absolutely dreadful call in the 4th quarter that is making headlines the next day, I hereby swear to never cry about officiating on this forum ever again.

Anyone with me!?

Yeah I know where you're coming from, I do complain about calls quite a bit on the game-day threads, but I try to keep complaining on these forums to a minimum and keep those comments to myself or share them with friends.

9ers = dumbest fans ever in NFL history. You would think they'd be happy to be 9-2 when their fans were 100% committed to accepting "suck for luck" campaign in preseason. They got high on that kool-aid. It should wear out after they lose to steelers.

Thank you. The reality is...the 49ers got hosed in the first half on horrible calls. If those went the other way Ravens fans would be apoplectic.

Yeah that is mostly what I am seeing as well. Most of the 49er fan or Raven hater posts no matter where I go seem to blame the Refs for the loss. The Refs made the right calls by the book just like last week against the Bengals. If people would think before they post, they are really arguing to change the rules rather than the calls themselves.

Haha no doubt. And no doubt I have been guilty of this very thing before as well.

No really. Both were actually good calls. The PI on the CB the guy clearly clearly was holding torrey's arm and after the game jim harbaugh didn't even stutter when he said the chop block was a good call. By the book it was a good call.

There were two 9ers fans behind me who complained about everything, not to mention how loud and rude they were. I turned around after the game and told them thats what happens when you play in the pussie division.

What call were they crying about, the chop block? My god we had a huge play called back just last week for the same thing. Even if they get that TD doesn't mean they win that game, not by a mile. That would give them 13 points and if my math is correct that still means they lose...

Hilarious, all of a sudden the Ravens are getting all of the calls, according to some Bengals and Steelers fans. Haven't they seen our multiple TDs and long runs called back for stupid penalties? We had a bogus block in the back call on a nice Webb punt return, among other things. I can understand some complaints from the Bengals, but the Steelers? Give me a break.

It's hard to complain about the refs when your QB was sacked 9 times and your all pro running back had 40 yards.
Well no. Actually some of the 49ers fans are making it look very easy. Of course, also making themselves look silly in the process.

I thought the refs were pretty darn good for once last night. Everything they called in my opinion was spot on.
I agree. The game was called evenly. The missed a facemask on Joe very early in the game but crap happens

I agree. I just don't see how those 2 calls would have changed the fact that we had 9 sacks. That is just something you can not overcome especially with the offensive line the way it was, it definitely needs improvement.

The chop block call was accurate to the letter of the rules, and that's all I have to say about that. Thanks Chilo Rachal for screwing us hardcore with your crappy blocking.. Gore had already taken him out of the play, no need to engage him. I guess this is what happens when your entire right side of the line is either out, or playing injured against an elite pass rush. Cut Chilo Rachal!

:) lol

see you guys in February.

Okay I would have to agree on at least the 2nd offsides. (I missed the replay of the first one). He was like a micro-inch maybe past the LOS.

I don't think the refs had anything to do with the 9 sacks that contributed greatly to their loss.
They should be blaming their OLine more.

Or maybe blame us for winning, at least.
