Our D-Line For The First Time...

14 posts in this topic

For the first time this season, Chuck didn't have to dial up blitzes to get pressure on the quarterback, and we saw that when our front line can get pressure off of a 4 man rush, we are completely unstoppable. 9 sacks and mabye 5 coverage sacks, completely disgusting.

It was great! Yet again, I am so impressed with McPhee and Kruger. They were both excellent tonight! And of course Suggs and Ngata were fantastic.

Way to go dline! The dline was a huge reason our run D was still so good despite not having Ray. The DL made it easier for McClain and McClellan, who both did well.

I'd like to say way to go Suggs! I've been hard on him this week but I saw "beast mode". 3 sacks, thats a sick game. Way to go Sizzle! Ngata had a huge game despite people asking where he's been. Redding played great too. McPhee reminds me of Pryce. Getting held on every pass play. McPhee did well. Great game defensively, and it all starts up front. Way to go guys!

Just seems that McPhee is magnet attracted to the ball because he always near a RB or forcing a QB out the pocket with Pressure.... It really feels like he should have 10 sacks on season because every time he is in seems like he is near the QB....

I know Redding had a good game, and I like having a D-Line Rotation to keep fresh guys in but I just want the snaps to be 60 - 40 McPhee over Redding

Kruger just continues to impress each game also, JJ is such a solid player, but Kruger definitely impacts games....

McPhee has looked solid, but he and Kruger are usually in there for pass rushing purposes only on obvious passing downs. Youd rather have Redding in there against the run over McPhee right now.

Very true, but McPhee did destroy a handful of run plays with his penetration at the point of attack. It was just a thing of beauty.

McPhee was great, Redding got great pressure, and Ngata showed up in the pass-rush for the first time in a few weeks. But, of course, Sizzle stole the show with his 3 sacks - 2 in the 4th quarter. Great game by them, they made Alex Smith look like the 2005-2010 version.

Redding deserves some love too, he's made huge strides since last season and is getting better with each game.

Edit: There have been more than a few occasions this season where I've noticed someone abusing blockers only to be pleasantly surprised it's him.

I honestly believe, Suggs' knee and Ngata's thigh bruise were the reason for the fall-off the past few games. It looks as if they're pretty healthy now. 10 days to rest will cause nightmares for OCs!!

4 rushers vs 8 max protect, and Kruger gets pressure and Suggs gets the sack. That's impressive.

When that started happening in the 4th quarter i just shook my head lol. The 49'er didn't have a chance at all at that point lol.
