Haloti Is Back And Giving Up Ngata

25 posts in this topic

It looks like whatever was ailing the big man is gone. He looked like his old disruptive self. It's good to have the big man back to his old self. I know Sizzle had a great great game but I think that the catalyst was Ngata. The player of the game could have been Ngata or co-player of the game. There were a few people on the Defense that really showed up tonight and I'm not saying Sizzle didn't deserve player of the game. Not at all. Really, I am just pointing out that Ngata was great out there too. It's good to see him getting after the opposition like that. Just awesome tonight!

Who has it better than us? Noooo-body!

I love that saying, too bad it isn't ours.

With Ngata back in the game our D-line can get back to pushing people around. Without him creating pressure from the middle our pass rush has been ailing. He is the key to the defense in a lot of ways now.

This is the Haloti Ngata I'm use to seeing as in the Haloti Ngata thead I made, I was wondering what was going on with him b/c I know he is capable of playing like this night in and night out.

Haloti had a big night, and in doing so he opened things up for Suggs, who had three sacks. That is what we want to see out of Ngata and Suggs! Good stuff guys!

McPhee, Ngata, Suggs, Kruger....everyone played beast. While Lewis wasn't on the field for the game, you know his influence had a lot to do with this performance.

Now...do we need to put the crowd on tape for road games? When we start playing like doodoo everyone puts on their headphones and listens to the crowd?

I want to see us dominate the Browns on the road in this fashion. Play lights out like there is no tomorrow.

You cant talk about last nights defese and not say something about Pagano. This was the most aggressive D since the Jets game. I was loving every minute of it!

I don't want to criticize but it was especially pleasing to see the defense so aggressive because of the lack of pressure in the past two or three games. Pagano called an excellent game last night.

Not only Ngata but the entire Dline stepped up tonight.
Yes, the whole Dline stepped up and Pags did too. I do think the disrespect angle played a role in it. I mentioned Ngata because I think while he was hurt, we didn't get that inside push and it seemed to hurt everyone. It hurt Suggs the most because QBs just stepped up and away from him when he came hard from the outside. He wasn't getting sacks. Just on Sunday, Haloti didn't look quite himself. But he was himself against the 9ers and getting 10 days rest now.
But the whole D came to play. Ed almost picked Smith. Webbhead did pick Smith. The corners locked up anything over 10 yards most of the game. Pagano trusted it and was aggressive from jump. We all loved it.
Thanks for the topic title compliment but Haloti Ngata supplied the name.
Arnie, are you a Brit or an American Soldier?

The D was good, but it wasn't really as "aggressive" as it seemed. We were getting consistent pressure with 4 man rushes. Thats not aggressive, thats just the front 4 owning the O-line. When we did blitz it almost always worked to perfection though.

Haloti played a great game, but I noticed he still has a little hitch in his gettyup.
Hopefully the extra 3 days gives the hematoma time to fully heal.

Ngata was taking pressure off the 2 gap and giving the edge rushers a free side.. The 49ers had a week right side of the O-line and we took advantage of it with Suggs lining up on that side....

Haloti Ngata and T-Sizzle were hearing the calls from the fans for why they were being so quiet the last few weeks and they stepped it up on prime time and made big impact plays. These guys are playmakers.

Looked like Ngata game was affected by his injury. There is no doubt in my mind he will be the best DT that ever played the game.

I still think he could go up a few pounds, he's quicker but doesn't look as strong as he used to.
I think the added quickness is beneficial, guess we'll have to see what he does next year. He does look real trim compared to past years though.

Like I said before, I don't think Pags ever left being aggressive, its just hard to call an aggressive gameplan when teams jump out to an huge early lead and they close up their gameplan and just pound the rock the majority of the time willing to go 3 and out, playing the field position game to punt the ball to our O putting pressure on them to make something happen all while the clock is ticking. Against the Niners, they had to open up b/c of us stopping Gore and being up in the game so you really got to see the impact of Pags aggressive style. If the Niners would have went up on us majorly like a lot of teams has done to us this year, we wouldn't have gotten the sacks that we did b/c the Niners would have closed up their gameplan.
