Ravens Major Underdogs On Thursday Yippee

80 posts in this topic

It appears all the media is tired of the Ravens being so inconsistent and have all jumped off the bandwagon.

This is great news!!!! The 49'ers are the 2nd best team behind the Packers believed by many and many are picking them to come into town and knock off those little 'ole Ravens.....hahaha

That and along with some Bengals players saying they were the better team might just wake the beast up, we all know how to beat the 9'ers ...stop the run, and on offense control the ball and get points....

If we stop their run game which we will...if they are smart they will shut it down, leaving Alex Smith to beat us. Their defense is good, #1 against the run but like #23 against the pass...and we have the speed to go deep if we need to.

The 12th man will be a factor and the feel good story will for one week be over...When everyone is against you, your backs against the wall, that is the time to rise up and take back what's yours....the #1 spot in the AFC and the North

Well, the Ravens have a jekyll and hyde complex this season so the media is understandably confused.

Still though, I don't know how you pick a west coast team playing away on a short week.

Regardless if SF is #1 against the run or not i hope we try and devlop the run throughout the game. I think that if joe comes out slinging instead of having a more balanced offense then we are in some serious trouble.

I mean the Bengals played a great game. That horrible call back on the TD deflated them but they probably should of won by 3....

Bring on the 9ers. Let's see how we stack against them.

Why should they have won by 3?

I love it when the Ravens are portrayed as the underdogs by the media. They play with a chip on their shoulder in those situations. Remember how they were supposed to lose both Pitt games? They'll shut down the 9ers run game, rattle Alex Smith and our offense will spread their defense out and pick them apart with the Diesel Package. Then the National Media and BSPN will be trying to figure out how to downplay the Ravens again.

Bold prediction:

Ray Rice rushes for 100 yards and becomes the first back to score a rushing TD on the 9ers in over a billion years.

The call was right, the rule is horrible....... If Gresham actually caught it clean instead of bobbling it ...it would have been a TD.

Harbs should have challenged the fumble on the sideline....... That was a bad call too...

The fact that this game is at home is a HUGE advantage. It's already a short week and the 49ers lose another day of preparation traveling across the country. That is magnified because the teams are not even remotely familiar with each other. We should be favored by Vegas even if the "experts" want to make a great soundbite and pick against us.

Against the number 1 rush defense? I think that is way too bold so...a better prediction might be Ray Rice runs for 50 yards.

If the bengals get that 7, I'm pretty sure, or atleast hopeful, the ravens offense would have put together some more first downs and maybe a score to counteract that 7 points. I'm tired of people acting like that touchdown would have automatically meant OT at the least.

That ranking means nothing. People were saying we weren't gonna be able to run on the Bungholes either, look how that turned out.

The best scenario would be the Ravens maintaining the #2 seed while the media keeps tabbing the Steelers ahead of them saying that they're still not consistent. Ravens ALWAYS play better as the underdog for some reason. I hope they have the toughest road to the SB come playoff time, hopefully playing at home.

Agreed.

These weekly rankings are just that and change every week. We were once the #1 defense. So was Pittsburgh.....Houston....

but not the Jets! haha

I don't know how we are major underdogs when we are 3 point push favorites. I think some of you guys just key in on the hate too much by some media people.

This is a what have you done for me lately league. Hell we are only looking for respect after we win games. I saw ZERO threads about respect after our three losses. The 9ers are 9-1. Impressive and they deserve praise.

First of all, it is a really far reach to say that you are underdogs in this game, at home, with a west coast team traveling on a short week.

Second, I hope the Ravens Game plan is to stop the run, That is what every other team has tried to do, and the teams who were successful, Failed to win the game....

The 49ers have played 4 games in the Eastern TIme Zone, all with the same result.....Win.
Apparently Defense, Running Game and Special Teams(the deciding factor in this Game) travel very well.

I'd like to know as well. If anything, had we not surrendered the larger lead, I'd say we should have had an extra touchdown from Torrey smith's hair pulling catch or after Ray Rice's long run. JMO.

And I agree. I think it's key and look no further than our Seachickens loss. All three stumbled.

That may be true, but you havent played a team that has a defense on par with the Ravens. Even if we bring 8 at times to stop the run, we have a more talented secondary than any team you have faced. Neither your WRs or your QB scare me. Frank Gore is the best offensive player on your team, I hope you dont deny that fact.

I dont think it is Our QB or WR's you need to worry about, It is the Coaching and Special Teams that is going to win the game.

Unless RR gets a breakaway run, I don't think he'll get over 100 yards. Take back that big run against Cinci I think he would of gotten about 50 yards that game.
