Jameel Mcclain Appreciation Thread

NFL.com just had a bio piece on Jameel McClain and while he's getting some love on that site, I think he should get some love here too.

His background's not much of a surprise to me since this team has all sorts of guys from rough backgrounds. The Ravens like their guys who show character in the face of adversity, and Jameel is one of them.

But Jameel also deserves respect for what he's done on the field. He's constantly "that guy". When you see a big play on a field and you're not sure who that is, it's always Jameel. When someone's blowing up a runningback or getting to the QB - but wait! Ray and Suggs are on the other side of the field! It's Jameel. He's always making plays in pass protection (very hard for today's linebackers) or up at the line. He's already got a sack, a pick, and a TD.

Jameel has always been one of the unsung heroes of this defense. I think when Ray steps down, we'll be hearing a lot more of Jameel.

Yeah he is a great Linebacker for us. A true undrafted free agent gem, hes been consistent since the day he got here. Hes the heir apparent to Lewis at the moment, hes learned a lot from Ray these last few years. I think Jameel is just realizing the potential he actually has, hes looked good this year.

There was an article similar to this a while back on this site. I'm pretty sure he has boxing gold gloves in which it does not mention.

Originally I wasn't sure about him playing alongside Ray Lewis. However, he has really impressed me now and I see a lot more coming from him in the future.

They just interviewed him on NFLN. He talked about how much he felt at home in Baltimore and how he thought he was the only one who played like a mad man possessed until he met his new team-mates.

this kids story gives hope , especialy to those who don't understand what its like being on the bottom end of society , where you dont just struggle but its a battle just to breath, I got a friend in philly who said he has to check but he cant say whether jameel was one of those he counciled in north philly but he said if he is he is a brimming example of being a survivor with a heart for those back where he came from . most people dont know what its like on our end(poverty) but man its good to see him come from this and become something that says you can do it .
