Prove Them Wrong, Ravens

22 posts in this topic

I listened to experts today and a large percentage of them are luke warm on the Ravens. I understand why but some even go so far as to say that the Steelers are still the best in AFCN. Its a team our Ravens beat twice. It's a sign of disrespect and lack of confidence. Our Ravens have been inconsistent but it's time to make that run. It's time to prove them all wrong. We thrive in the underdog role. So let's that to a home playoff game or two and eventually to a Super Bowl. I think this team is about to come together and take over the AFC. Someone is about it get hot. Why not us?

Asking our boys to prove anything to anybody hasn't gone over so well this year.

I just want them to muscle up and lay the smack down on the 9ers right now. I'm not looking for anybody's respect, and neither is anyone on this roster.

The 9ers are due for a loss, I think the Ravens can confuse Alex Smith and if we stop Gore, its over.

That's understandable. The Ravens don't seem to like prosperity. Everytime they have a chance to prove the doubters wrong they let it slip by. We do thrive in the underdog role because we never let ourselves get to be the lead dog.

But if we do get a home playoff game, I doubt we would be considered underdogs.

I see this talk about failing to prove people wrong, but we proved people wrong when they said we wouldn't beat the Steelers. Proved them wrong both times. That said, if we had lost to them and other good teams, they would be saying we can't beat the good teams and we still aren't great against Pit. I think we've proved we can beat good teams, but they dwell on the smaller games. That's just what they do as an effort to protect the Steelers, I mean let's face it, they seem to be trying to display Pit and Cin as the good guys and us as the bad guys.

No matter how you draw it up, they'd give the edge to the Steelers until we clearly pull away from them....which WILL happen.

They have to play a game in a few days. The Ravens are the worst team in the NFL. They have no chance at beating the 49ers. Ray Rice is horrible, and Cam is the greatest OC in the history of the universe.

After tonight's game it's tough to argue against the Patriots as the AFC's best. They have their flaws, but all teams do, and as soon as they are exposed it seems that BB and Tom Brady find a way to work around them. No deep threat at WR? Tom Brady will throw to Gronk 50 yards down field. Trouble with the pass rush? Bill Belichick will sign this 30 year old dude and he'll produce 4.5 sacks in one game against a pretty decent O-line because he's the only one who noticed the guy could be a decent pass rusher in a 4-3.

However, I really believe that the Ravens could beat the Patriots one time, and if we meet them in the playoffs that will be all that we need. I don't think there's any team that is just better then the Ravens at their best, except for maybe the Packers when they're really clicking. The 49ers are a good team, but they have thrived by playing a fairly soft schedule (not all cupcakes, but not a lot of really strong wins, either) and playing fairly efficiently and mistake free. The Ravens are a team that force mistakes, and that is a problem for San Fran, in my mind.

Who cares what the experts state. Realy, I don't think they even believe what they say anyway and take suggestions from the producers

They get payed to be controversial and get people talking and now we have this thread.
Steady sensible comments don't make headlines

So no reason to be bothered or take offense to what what you notice in the media

There are a few exceptions, Mike Mayock is one

Considering two of our glaring losses it is understandable why we do not get any respect. Respect has to be earned, and even our lukewarm wins haven't earned much.

We are so hot and cold this season. Of course, when we are hot we have been smokin'. Some of the wins and even individual drives have been incredible, some have been standard and some have been lackluster. As fans, it is easy to get behind the team and turn a blind eye to the occasional poor play, but as comentators, I guess it is harder.

Of course sometimes it seems like we could win three SBs in a row and they would just talk about how tough it was on the teams we beat.

Eh, I like it when we stay under the radar. We always seem to have problems when the experts start chanting super bowl when it comes to the Ravens. Maybe Billick was on to something when he forbid the 2000 team from making any references to the super bowl until we reached it.

Can't stop the critics and they have deserved a lot of it this year at times. I know they seem to do better when they aren't in the headlines. But I really don't care this year, reporters, critics can say what they want.

From now on I WANT to see our team DOMINATE! No more playing around or wondering which team will show up. I want to see RELENTLESS DOMINATION!! They've shown they are capable of it.

Maybe the team is just finding their groove and we'll see consistency from now on. I sure hope so!

I like it this way. Every time the praise started flowing for the Ravens , they would lose to a bunch of bums. I hope we're underdogs right up to the SB.

This is true. We like being the dog and we like to hit. I wouldn't want to be wearing red and gold on Turkey Day.

all of the criticism and lack of "respect" (so to speak) the Ravens receive is justifiable due to how they have played against sub par teams (titans, jaguars and seahawks. even the Cardinals to us to the wire). the steelers have been consistent in that, when they lose...they always seem to bounce back and go on a string of wins to get back in the playoff hunt and in position to win the division. they are proven in that area so no one doubts them for long. the Ravens however, have been un and down all season and Joe Flacco has looked extremely mediocre at the QB spot at best. UNTIL the Ravens can put together a string of wins both at home and on the road....they will NEVER get media respect or love. it is what it is!
