Who Will Have The Biggest Day Thursday Vs 49Ers

41 posts in this topic

if Ray doesn't play again, Frank Gore will have the biggest game vs. the Ravens.
if Ray does play, our CB's will have a field day after they figure out that they can't run on us the way they run over everyone else. 49ers offense, other than Frank Gore, just doesn't scare me.

Crabtree isn't any better than any of the Bengals receivers, and Alex Smith is much worse than Andy Dalton.

Is Vernon Davis really having that good of a year? I thought he regressed a lot...

I don't know. After watching Simpson have some big catches against us. I can see Crabtree putting together a nice game. He has a ton of physical tools to outplay our CBs. He's really getting better as the season progresses.

Davis is on and off. But you still have to gameplan around him. He's a big guy with speed and catching ability. He's a matchup nightmare.

Understand that most of us are going by his historical performances. He isn't losing you guys games, but he isn't really asked to win them either.

I would say that saying you win in spite of Smith is harsh but I won't pretend that I believe he's responsible for beating anybody but the Giants. He is a game manager, no matter how much Jim dislikes it.

Alex Smith is smart, a very smart QB, but his throws get erratic sometimes. I'm worried about Frank Gore hand his back up K. Hunter have a good day, because sometimes they put 6-7 O-lineman on the field, and with Ngata struggling the way he is, i dont like the amount of push they are going to have up front.

It is going to have to be a receiver, I just don't see Ray Rice getting that much production as a runner against the #1 rushing defense in the league right now. It is going to be a passing ball game.

I think Flacco will have a big day as long as the Oline can give him decent protection. Niners secondary is decent but not spectacular.

Flacco will have to have a big day throwing long. Our front 7 is in beast mode.
Our secondary is vulnerable to deep passes at times but they're very good against the mid to short game. They were, at one point, leading the league in knock downs. I'm not sure how they're rated right now. A big part of the Niners D in turnover success is through the HUGE hits they put on receivers after they've made the catch. They either force an incompletion or a fumble depending on how long the receiver has the ball.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say lee evans. He's had a few more practices under his belt now and the 49ers pass defense is not that great. With keeping track of torrey going deep and boldin and rice underneath along with our tight ends it should open up a lot of room for evans to more around. He's a veteran who also has the ability to sit in zones yet if flacco can hit him on slants or crossing routes evans has the speed to turn those kinds of short throws into huge plays, much like we saw Torrey almost do against the bengals if it werent for that darn hair...

Well fortunately, that is one area in which we excel. Torrey Smith is developing into a premier deep threat in the NFL and Lee Evans is no slouch either. Flacco has one of the biggest arms in the NFL and he has proven he can connect on those long plays all season.

Hopefully Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta will be heavily involved from the beginning. I would like to see what would happen if we ran a 3 WR set with Torrey on one side, Lee on the other, and Q in the slot. I think if the gameplan is sound, we can have success moving the football.

Joe Flacco because he will be connecting to the deep threat with Smith and Evans.
Ray rice will also help set up the play action. I think it will be Flacco!

I hope we blow THEM out on national TV to silence the critics and put the Packers on notice that the Ravens are ready for the SB.

Big day for Flacco. This is a game I feel should be about 65% pass and trying to keep the carries even between Rice and Williams because I feel Ray will be utilized heavily in the pass game. Will probably be a game where the run is used to keep the defense honest, but I see us winning this through the air which I feel the team is capable of for 2 reasons. One is Torrey Smith and them having to contain him and they run a 3-4 which the team has had pretty good success against. Just saw Capos post and I feel we can and will blow them out. The only problem I have with guaranteeing it is that fact Jim has been on the sidelines with Harbaugh while he was coaching here and might have some inside knowledge. My gut feeling though is this game will not be as close as people think. I see the Ravens getting ahead early and Smtih finally being exposed after hes forced to play catch up.

I predict that boldin has the biggest game, but i am really hoping rice is the first back to rush a 100yds on them and a touchdown
