and ricky had a good 6 or 7 runs its pretty much 50/50 pass run and play action worked for almost the first time all year, kudos cam cameron, rice, ricky, joe, oline, receievers, great today, minus a bonehead play by flacco, this is why he has haters, hes good for a "dohhhh" play every now and then, but all in all hes a very good qb

the almost 500 yards allowed on defense is not though.

Fun fact: the Ravens are 5-0 since 2000 in games where they've allowed 480+ yards.

Just did a quick check on pro football reference. I started to notice it last year so I just kept it in the back of my mind.

2000 vs NYJ: W 34-20
2009 @ SD: W 31-26
2010 vs BUF: W 37-34
2010 @ HOU: W 34-28
2011 vs CIN: W 31-24

Wasn't pretty much 50/50, it WAS 50/50 - 28 runs and 28 throws. Joe has got lots of potential, but he really makes far too many mistakes

He's still young, though, and learning to play with new receivers and tight ends he'd never thrown a pass to before this season, and this is without a full offseason. And if you compare his numbers to the numbers of several top quarterbacks today, he stacks up pretty well when comparing by age and years of experience. Remember, too, it was after his 4th season that the Chargers gave up on Drew Brees and he went to New Orleans, and we all know what happened then. Joe has to play better, but I think given time (and a better offensive coordinator), he will.

It was an improvement but there are still things to work on, such as our last offensive play where we didn't dare to throw a quick pass when it was clear they were sending at least 8 guys to stuff the run which was obviously coming.

Torrey was excellent today, easily the brightest spark on offense.

I was kinda disappointed in our short-mid range passing game. Mostly dump off passes or bombs to Torrey. Really wanted to see us work the middle of the field more with Boldin, Dickson and Pitta. Joe was spot on with those deep balls today though, props to him and Torrey.

He made one. One. Now, yes, it was a pretty head scratching one. I couldn't believe he let the pass go but it was still only one. He did make some really good decisions as well but no one ever wants to discuss those.

He did about as well as Big Ben did last week. Bengals have a solid defense. I'm surprised how high scoring this game was to be honest.

The O line is starting to come together too. I know they didn't do as well today as last week, but having Grubbs back is paying HUGE dividends and Yanda is a beast at the goaline.

True. We need the same thing against the 9ers Thursday night.

When a team is playing catchup they are going to get a lot of yards. That number is deceiving to an extent

Hmmm. Just because a team is trying to catch up it doesn't mean we let them.

No deception. Bad performance.

Exactly. A head scratcher, but thankfully the pick was of no consequence.

Joe is blossoming into a top notch QB and is gaining confidence with each game. Funny how folks always dwell on his mistakes and not his accomplishments.

I loved the balance, but I thought we sat on the ball too much once we got up big, and it nearly cost us the game.

Yeah I didn't like that. Shades of last year, for sure.
