Kudos To Torrey

Without him, we probably wouldn't have won the game. Sure, he only had one touchdown, but he had multiple big plays, and the kid hung on to the ball pretty well, especially on the one throw where Flacco passed it extremely close to the ground, but he still put in the effort and made the catch. And I hated seeing him being brought down by his hair. Should've been a penalty in my eyes.

Excellent game Mr. Smith!!!

he played well, good hands, but no thats not a penalty, if he hangs his hair out like that its going to get grabbed eventually, he should have it tucked down the back of his shirt

So why in the heck was it a penalty against the Chiefs (I believe it was the Chiefs at least) that one year where we grabbed Polamalu's hair?? Wasn't a horse collar at all, it was because they ripped his hair. Or is it because he's Head and Shoulders man??

Torrey Smith made some mistakes and then rebounded nicely. That's all you can ask of a rookie, especially after such a short offseason.

someone said after taht call they reviewed that rule and establishe dthe hair is part of the body, eg a players arm and so is not a horsecollar, no diff than grabbing his arm.. dont quote me on that though.. but as i see it, id pull his hair too if its flying out there and would be very angry if i was penalised for it, its his own choice to have it out there

he was on fire today. good to see. we will need him next week. man this kid is just lightning fast. must have been hard to watch for green. those two will battle for offensive rookie of the year with nweton and jones of course. but if torrey continues playing like that he will be right in the hunt...

He honestly had an A+ game, i don't think i saw him drop any passes
His biggest issue (along with the rest of the receivers) was a lack of separation. During the few times he was able to get open, he made great plays. But when he was stonewalled completely by the secondary, he looked lost or apprehensive in figuring out how to complete his route.

Which will come with time. He's a very good #2 right now, and I'm willing to bet that he becomes an excellent #1 in a few years. Pro Bowls await this guy.

Great job by Torrey today. He's only going to get better, and that's scary. Also like to point out, this was Joe's first game with a rating over 100, in fact his first one with a rating over 90, since the STL game week 3. And this is against the team he struggles the most with. Hopefully that's a sign that he's going to turn things around the rest of the season. On another note, today might have been the most balanced we've been offensively all season. And we won against a quality opponent.

I don't see how he's supposed to do more than he did today. Six catches on seven targets , out of 27 pass plays. 165 yds. , 28 yds/catch average.

And he didn't get enough separation ? LOL!

Kudos. Torrey is speed not strength so you really cant expect him to manhandle people if he gets locked up at the line. Great job today. Maybe you will get rookie of the week this time since you were skipped against the Rams.

awh okay, i didnt knwo who you were talking about, hasnt he only played like three games? i think if bengals make a wildcard it has to go to dalton... dalton before green because dalton is throwing him the ball

Because he held onto the hair after the play was dead. If I remember correctly. Hair tackling is perfectly legal. Tuck it in.

there were a few plays i noticed midway through the game it looked like flacco was gonna go for him but he wasnt open..
Obviously he had a great game. Improved route running will come with time

Am I the only one who got ticked off when that no good for nothing Bungles player grabbed Torrey's hair?? Too long/gangsta-ish/not tucked in, or not, he's a Ravens brutha who got disgustingly tackled and tossed around. Dude could've been seriously hurt if his leg twisted the wrong way.

I was furious at that play also. He is becoming one of my favorite players on the team.

Nah , I don't buy that at all. The assumption being made is that if he wasn't open , it had to be because of rookie route running , not good coverage.

Boldin can disappear , getting one catch on two targets , and it's gotta be because he was covered like a blanket.

Torrey gets held to a different standard , but that will change.

He could of let go a lot sooner then he did. Kinda twisted him up luckily Torreys feet were off the ground by that point.
no he couldnt or torrey still could have scored, your talking about pacmans lively hood here, hes had enough second chances, your trying to tell me (be objective) you dont pull torreys hair if you were him, i sure as hell would, it almost won the bengals the game!! saved a certain TD
