ALEX Smith is doing a lot better this year, and his receivers drop balls, and are inconsistent. He has some bad throws though. But yeah, we need to put 8 in the box and force them to throw.

Little of both. He's not the most consistent passer, but he has a 64% completion percentage this year, with a 95.8 rating. 11 TDs, 3 INTs.

I think the trick is get an early lead and force Smith to beat us. He is very similar to Dalton in that he makes quick reads, but different in that he doesn't challenge the secondary much by going deep. Their offense is predicated on running with Gore.

Their defense is very very good in the first 2 levels but relatively weak in the secondary. We will have to beat them mostly via the pass, but I still think attempt to establish the run. Bowman and Willis are very good at LB though so it will be tough. Justin Smith is also playing well

I'd say Execution. They play to near perfection. Although they dont have any significant name brand star players, they lead in forcing turnovers in NFL. Their offense nearly never make any mistakes. Every players they have play man to man really well.

Alot of opponents of 49ers quickly realize after 1st qtr that they either a) get blown out by turnovers playing hyper aggresive-buccanears or b ) play safe but fails on close game bc they cant compete in executing plays

this will be a tough and hard fought game i feel because Jim will want to come to town and "make a statement" for his team by beating his brother John's team....the Ravens.....on the road and at his house! and their 52....Patrick Willis is a beast! he's a young version of our 52...Ray Lewis.

This season, Jim Harbaugh has done a good job maximizing Alex Smith's strengths and giving him easy completions to make. The 49ers are playing their best defense during the Alex Smith era, and Frank Gore is having one of the best seasons of his career, which also really helps. I think we can shut down Gore, though, so it will be really interesting to see how Alex Smith responds to the blitzes he's going to get from us. But Alex is playing well this season. Whether it's an aberration or a sign of things to come remains to be seen. But rest assured, after letting Blain Gabbert and Tavaris Jackson post wins over us, we'll (I hope) be taking Alex Smith as seriously as if he were Ben Roethsilberger.

Best part about Thursday's game? Everyone on this roster was no doubt focused on it since the schedule came out. Team with a winning record + National TV game on turkey day + playing to give your coach family bragging rights = a focused team.

I was thinking they might come Tuesday to get better adjusted to the time.
Either way, this is an especially good game for us to be at home. We caught a break with the scheduling.

I don't know why but I look at the 49ers the same way I look at the Lions and say to myself.. overrated. I know I shouldn't say that about a team that is 9-1 but I can't help it. I mean I look at that division and their schedule and just.. I dunno. It'll probably be a close game, but man do I hate losing to NFC teams. We GOTTA win this game!
