Bengals Vs Ravens - Game Summary & Prediction

19 posts in this topic

Going into the game on Sunday, it's a critical game for both teams, sitting at 6-3 with the Steelers currently sitting at 7-3. I think Baltimore will have a good day offensively, I'm going to say Joe Flacco will be 16/24 for 280 yards with 3 TD's and 0 INT. I think Ray Rice will get about 15-20 carries and will rush for about 85 yards, he'll also have about 40 yards receiving. The Bengals will have a tough time stopping the Ravens, especially if they are able establish a running game. I don't think the Bengals will be able to stop the Ravens for the most part and I also believe that if A.J. Green is not playing, which it doesn't look like he will, the Bengals will struggle mightily on offense as well. I believe Andy Dalton will be 15/30 for 160 yards passing with 1 TD and 1 INT. Cedric Benson will get about 15 carries, he'll get about 50 rushing yards. Benard Scott will also get a fair share of carries, anywhere from 10-15 carries for about 30 yards. I just get the feeling with the horrible loss to the Seahawks and all of the criticism, Baltimore will respond in a big way on Sunday. This is just how I truly feel, I'm a Bengals fan through and through, I just believe Baltimore will be too much to handle on Sunday. Joe Flacco will finally have a good day against the Bengals defense.

My prediction:
My heart says Bengals 24-21.
My head says Ravens 28-13.

I hope I'm wrong and it's completely different, but good luck to you guys on Sunday and may the best team win. Hopefully it will be a good physical AFC North game with no injuries.

(I want to be wrong) LOL

If Lee Evans is back...

Ravens 24
Bengals 16

If he isn't...

I just don't have a good feeling about this game at all and if I truly thought the Bengals would win, I'd pick them regardless but I just don't feel that way with the game this weekend. I'll be happy if I'm completely wrong on this one, just not real confident about the game this weekend. 19-16 would be a lot closer than what I'm expecting.

With Ray out, I have a hard time believing we'll beat the Bengals.
They're just one of those teams that has had our number for so long.

Ravens 20
Bengals 23

The Ravens defense absolutely dominates this game, with game-changing plays by Ed Reed and Terrell Suggs.

The Ravens offense does just enough, and manages to not turn the ball over. Probably one big play to Torrey Smith... and since the fans have been in an uproar, Cam will probably run it a lot more.

Ravens win big. The offense won't put up 30 points themselves, but the defense will make the score look lopsided.

As much as I dont want to admit it I like the Ravens at home in this game as well...This is a game the Ravens desperately need to win especially with the 49ers looming 4 days later on Thanksgiving night. I think it will be a close game that will go right down to the wire but in the end I think the Ravens being at home and needing this game will prove to be the difference. One thing about the Bengals this season is they do not go away in games and have not been blown out in any of the games they have lost. Dalton has comeback and rallied the Bengals on the road this season numerous times and has the ability to do so. So one thing the Ravens cant do in this game if let's say they get up by 10-14 points in the 2nd half is sit on the lead and relax and think that they have the game won.

The only problem with that is Cincy is banged up in the secondary but are stout against the run, he wont have the right gameplan....of that I am 99% sure

Lee Evans hopefully will be back, and that score is right.

We might be welcoming back our defense for consistency this is good not great the way they keep our hopes up and back down when a loss of no explanation... Even people in this forum have quoted "the better team lost today," can you really explain a loss? this whole team cannot wake up on the wrong side of the bed every other Sunday!

I'm just glad that I am not a professional gambler. Hehehe. I'd probably have 2 broken legs after the way I have predicted this season. Anyway, I think the the Ravens have the home field advantage that will account for at least 3 points. The noise will upset Dalton enough to allow the defense to regroup from Sunday's humiliation. The offense has a chip on it's shoulder. Evans should be suited up for Sunday, which will give us a psychological edge by making the Bengals drop back in coverage to prevent Smith and Evans going over the top. I hope we don't send him on an end around. LOL. My prediction is Ravens 24, Bengals 21. The game will go down to the last 5 minutes before we put it away with a defensive stand.

I dont have a great feel for this game. Part of me wants to believe that the Ravens are going to come out and win one at home in dominating fashion, kind of a statement game to CInci saying "we are still the cream of the crop in the AFC North". I know how good the Ravens can look when both the Offense and the Defense is clicking. Part of me also thinks this will be a close, defensive struggle with the decision coming in the final minutes of the 4th quarter. If we can avoid turnovers I think we win handedly, but if we turn the ball over it might get ugly. Really, turnovers have been the main factor in the losses we have had. Everyone likes to overanalyze why the Ravens have been inconsistent this season. Well just look at the turnovers and you will find the answer.

I think Rice will have about 20 carries, and Ricky will get about 5. Joe will throw between 25-30 times, complete 55 percent of his passes, throw no TDs but no picks. The score will be 14-10, Ravens. One of those TDs will be set up by a big time throw which leads to a short running score, but once again people will say the defense carried the game.

Are you a Ravens fan in disguise? lol

I know that neither Hall nor Joseph will be there but even so I would have a hard time trying to believe Flacco would put those numbers up on Cincy.

No, you'll just see today. Our secondary isn't good at all, the Ravens will expose it, I guarantee it.

I need to announce that the "cincy curse" has officially ended.

In 2004(I think?)I gave my tickets for a game with the bengals to a friend. I couldn't go because we were having a birthday party for my son. This was the game that we were leading at half by like 3 TDs and ended up losing. It seemed that after that game, we had a lot of trouble beating them year after year and I always blamed it on my friend and his bad mojo.

A couple of weeks ago that same friend was doing some remodel work in his basement. He was tearing out some old paneling and a trading card fell on the floor. That card was a Sherril Headwick(bengals)football card. Ahhh, the source of the curse!
So I surmise that my friend's cincy whammy is now lifted since Sherril was released from behind the wall of his house.

No kidding, true story.
