153 posts in this topic

the whole ellerbe in the doghouse thing is a joke. what does harbs wnat to prove there? that he doesn´t play our best ilb next to ray because he celebrated on the field in his second year. cheeez. get over it man!!! let him play if he is ready. let smith play too!!!! carr hurts us so much!!!

ray will be missed but if we lose because our starting ilb isn´t there, we are not better then the colts!!

I know Lewis is a very important part of the Ravens defense, but the Ravens have other players out there that still make their defense very potent. You guys have Reed and Ngata just to name two off the top of my head. I don't follow the Ravens, so those are the only two that jump out at me.

I hate hearing that Lewis is out because if the Bengals happen to win this game, it will not be against the Ravens are at full strength. In the back of my mind though, I am kind of glad he is out and now the Bengals young QB may just survive this game, lol.

I think we can survive Ray not taking the field, but I hope he is on the sidelines coaching up this defense. It is his energy and uncanny offensive reads we need to have here.

This sucks, but I'm confident on Ellerbe and McClain.

Dare I say it, but is there a possibility this may be the dreaded turf toe?

If Ray doesn't play, we definitely must bring out all the big guns! Ellerbe, McClain and Jimmy Smith in pass coverage!! This is a must win game!!

This is the first I'm hearing of this so not sure how much stock to put into it.

Even if it is true then we need to fight through it. Injuries seem to be rampant this year.

Pretty much reported on all of the NFL reliable news sources.

Hopefully Evans, Torrey and Boldin will click with Joe so hard that we'll be up by fifty at the half and Ray would have been pulled anyway.

Actually, we've been pretty fortunate that we have not lost major players for the season as other teams have. Hopefully Ray gets back soon and the rest will do him good.

I'm most concerned with his missing leadership. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise and will inspire a monster game from the D.

Smart move. We will need him to take on Frank Gore on Thursday. We should be able to handle Benson without him....I hope.

We're in trouble if he can't go next Thursday night... I'm not as worried about him missing Cincy, but it's never good when you're missing the greatest MLB of all time.

I remember when he was out for a period of time a few years ago. It was like he was still playing. Running the sideline, cheering, coaching, still intimately involved in every way other than being on the field. He's still gonna pump his guys up and be of great help to Pagano.

It's a must-win game against a divisional opponent that's given them trouble seemingly forever. As important as Ray is rallying the troops, they shouldn't need any extra motivation for this game.

I hope Ray is still there to motivate the defense and the whole team for that matter. Make Ray and Baltimore proud, Ravens!

Now its.being reported its Several weeks....smh
[/quote]

When I heard he's going to see a toe specialist I knew it was going to be trouble. That's an indication that this could be something very problematic.

I am excited to see what some of the young guys can do. Now is their time to shine. They have the perfect opportunity.

this isnt the end of the world, i see it as a time in which the younger players have a chance to step it up a notch and show everyone.. hey we can do this, its not like Ray wont BE there, if he doesnt play im sure he'll at least be on the sideline going crazy, talking with teammates exc... coaching them. this is s TEAM. and as being such, "you got my back? i got yours" comes to play , just like every other week. expectations dont diminish just cuz Ray cant go, thisis still the Ravens D. Step up. be a Part. Do your part. Contribute. and you will see the benefits.

This is big, a big loss in the middle for the Ravens defense. Ray Lewis in my mind is the best LB ever and to be out this game and most likely a few after is a big blow to the defense. I would compare that to the Colts lossing Manniing on the offense side of the ball.
Ray Lewis is the anchor, the leader, so hopefully next guy up can step up and play decent football.
