Passing In The Red Zone
Quarterback Comp. Att. Yards Pct. TDs Int. All I can say is Wow! I knew we were struggling in the red zone but how can Flacco be so bad and a rookie QB be so good? We have two great TE, a great RB, and a dominant slot WR. This is inexcusable.

It all goes back to Cam Cameron in my opinion. He's super predictable when we're inside the 20. Watch how the Cardinals used Boldin, and we'd score a TD almost everytime. He's leaving Flacco out there to dry with his poor play calling

They should utilize Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta more because they're big and have good hands creating mismatches based on the defenses coverages. Using two TE sets to try to pound the ball in or use play action to keep the defense honest. Make use of the versatility.

Well, those stats dont factor the two TDs Boldin missed on (not keeping his feet in and a drop), a couple more by Torrey, and probably other plays that I can't think of right now...they make those catches, Flacco's numbers look a lot prettier.

5 TDs and 0 INT is still good regardless.

I'd have to ask why Big Ben, with only 2 more attempts, has 3 more INTs than Joe. Did you also notice that Joe's QBR is higher than Ben's? Maybe we complain too much or maybe stats don't tell the whole story.

The key thing is that we don't turn it over (though we almost through a pick against Blitz-burgh last week in the redzone) it would be great to score, but i'll take a field goal over a turn over anyday. That's actually harbough's doing, he's conservative. Cam Cameron is typically aggresive so if it were up to him, we'd probally have more scores but more turnovers as well inside the 20 lol.

our offense in general seems to get tight, bogged down in the redzone..i think they dont know what they want to do down there, Cam is to blame for that too

it doesnt seem like we get into the redzone much so Joe cant really help it if those numbers are bad..it only takes a few trips to end in FGs and ur numbers are bad...his completion % is bad but u can explain it because of throw aways, drops, and on some throws he was just off

Joe needs to play perfect so this offense can get on track....thats the only way I see it happening..we cant run it, so Joe needs to play at the highest level all the time...is that too much to ask? yes...

We have one of the best blocking fullbacks to play the game... utilize him!
tell it to Cam

thing is, the Bengals have a good defense so i don't see the run becoming a factor this week

its going to be on the defense to keep the Bengals offense in check and on Joe to do what he does, I just hope they stop dropping the ball so much

Last year we had Heap who Flacco liked to throw to in the redzone and also Mason on slants and comebacks. This year we have two awesome tight ends and beastly redzone Wr who should have more touchdowns down there.

playcalling
that is not for everything. remember those throws from flacco right into the stands? he does that every game and every time i am like: what the heck??? it is a combination of things in my opinion. wr have to get open much faster in that area of the field. the qb has to get rid of the ball and make his reads much quicker and as we all know that isn´t the strengths of joe cool.
and of course you have to play like your personnel makes you able to play and not let your personnel play like you want them but they oust cannot...

This is what I have been complaining about all season long.

There's no avoiding me saying this. I just have to say it. Cam's playcalling down there has been straight up horrific. He has NO plan whatsoever for throwing the ball. No creative route combos amongst our big, physical receivers. No creating mismatches. We rarely spread the field down there. Completely unacceptable. The only times, minus the first Pit game, that we could actually throw well down there was in Jacksonville down 9-0 late in the fourth and last week down 22-10 late in the fourth. I'm like, why can't we do this more often? Where has this been?

Our offense down there just looks inept and unsophisticated. Watch so many other teams in the red zone and you'll see that they are ages ahead of us, more specifically Cam.

i am actually glad that bolding dropped that pass against the steelers. because i don´t think we would have won the game out of a redone situation. i mean all those players have to have the fact in mind that we are rarely scoring touchdowns in the redzone. maybe not the first thing coming to their mind but i bet that it spooks in their heads somewhere.

GET THIS DONE!!!!!

Flacco has to step his game up in the redzone no reason at all he shouldn't have 12-15td so far we had soo many opportunities were we should of scored.

Flacco's completion percentage is better than two Quarterbacks in the league right now and they are Blaine gabbert and Curtis Painter and they wanna anoint this guy the franchise guy. Flacco is a mediocre Quarterback in this league.

What exactly does he do. I checked his completion percentage after eight games like some of you guys suggested.......Horrific and if his receivers where dropping as many balls that have hit the ground this year for him someone would have been fired. He is at the bottom of the league in completion percentage only two are worst Blaine gabbert and Curtis Painter. Im not hating on him facts are facts. They are trying there best to get the kid his numbers its just not working out for him. The truth is he is just an average JOE in this league.

I like the part where he fools everybody... even himself, and calls a comlpetely outlandish play on third down after he drops a turd running up the middle on 1st and 2nd.

Yes, this year he is struggling (as a whole) and is average.

Flacco is next to last in Comp. % inside the 20 , with only the Rams behind him. He's ranked #24 inside the 10.

http://hosted.stats.com/fb/tmleaders.asp?year=&type=Passing&range=NFL&rank=099

The good news is he has zero interceptions inside the 20.

The Ravens have 19 drops overall , which is high but not terribly so. Even Green Bay has 14. Twenty-six of thirty-two teams have 14 or more drops.

By comparison , Rice's numbers are decent. Inside the 10 , he's tied for 8th in %TDs , with 6 TDs in 18 chances ( 33.3% ) :

http://hosted.stats.com/fb/leaders.asp?year=&type=Rushing&range=NFL&rank=074

Inside the 3 , he's tied for 10th , with 3 TDs in 8 chances.

The only positive I could say about the passing game down there is the Arizona game. Who knows, maybe Joe would have had two or three TDs in the second half had in not been for those correct defensive PI calls.
