You pretty much nailed it. As you play the game you'll explore both sides of the Rebellion and Empire.
My suggestion would be to take your time on picking a side. I did. Take your time with the main story. Actually I held on picking a side and ended up with a different main story line then my brother did.

The good thing is that you can always play as another character and explore the other side of things. That's what I love about this game.

One of the best value for your dollar games out there.

Yeah I held off on choosing a side until around 100hrs in, it was a little weird when I was running around in God mode Deadric gear and they're trying to give me their crappy officer armor and weapons.

Anyone do the peace treaty as part of the main quest story line? It's pretty awesome!

Right now I have both factions at peace.

Yup, both agreed to a cease fire until the Dragon problem was dealt with.

Same here, didn't choose a side until I was done with the main quest. Pretty boring killing everyone with one hit, and they can barely damage you. :D

Did you like the shift in power? I think that was cool. Now there are Imperials trying to make moves on smaller towns. Just took care of one earlier. Then a Dragon came lol!

BTW I picked this game up for the PC since I was playing my brother's PS3 game he got as a gift. Wow should've done it sooner lol! Much better on the PC. Load time? What's that? lol

You can, based on what I read.

I just started playing yesterday. Bethesda still can't make a decent interface and the controls are mapped in a strange manner, but the game is quite fun.

Nice. I have it on PC and my bro has it on PS3. So I have a few more weeks to wait. No biggie. This gives me time to play my characters on the PC anyways.

Sadly, I had to do a factory reset on my PS3 about two weeks ago, lost all of my data. So, my Lvl 56 Wood Elf is now non-existent, off to Oblivion.

When things like that happen, I'm so glad I didn't actually buy any DLC or themes, etc. When I hear people talk about DLC, all I hear is; "This is all the stuff we kept out of the game intentionally because we knew that people would be willing to pay even more for it later."

Good thing I picked up a few cheats on Skyrim, I should be around a Lvl 32 within a few hours of starting.

For anyone not familiar with these, here are the two cheats I've used for every character.

1.) When you get to Riverwood, talk to Sven. Then visit Camilla at the trader post and tell her the truth. Then talk with Faendal. Now you can use him to help you level-up your Archery. Once you get about 3,000 gold, tell him you need his help first, then ask him to train you until you get 5/5 Upgrades for your current character level. (You will have to upgrade your character's Magic/Health/Stamina, but save your Perks until you're really sure of what you want to do with your character.) Then tell him you need to trade some items with him and steal all of your gold back. Repeat this until you get to Level 50 in Archery.

2.) Go to the meadery in Riften and talk to the barkeep and ask him about Maven Black Briar; depending on your current Speech level, you may have to bribe him until you're about a level 25. Once you get to Level 25, then you can keep persuading. Just keep repeating this until your speech is at 100. This will help on several missions, not to mention it makes buying and selling items lean in your favor.

When you're done doing these two things, you should be around a level 32.

Other cheats you can do are at the very beginning when you're trying to escape the dragon. Just keep attacking your companion in different ways (one hand, two hand, spells) without actually killing him. Also, you can keep sneaking up on the bear in the cavern, but don't actually kill it. This should help with One-Hand, Two-Hand, Magick (depending on which spells you're using) and Sneak.

Or you can do the Oghma Infinium trick to get to level 83 within a half hour. After level 15 you can do the quest
But most people haven't bought a house by Lvl 15; so might I suggest also doing the Eorlund Merchant Chest glitch as well... this is where the Speech glitch will really come in handy, especially if you use a few of your perks on the Speech "tree".

Has the Restoration Glitch been patched on PS3? Doesn't seem to be working, or I'm doing it wrong.

Step One: Put on Fortify Restoration gear
Step Two: Use Alchemy Lab, create a Fortify Restoration potion
Step Three: Exit Alchemy Lab, enter Menu > Items > Potions
Step Four: Take the Fortify Restoration potion
Step Five: Remove Fortify Restoration gear, put it back on
Step Six: Exit Menu

Repeat steps 2 through 6 as desired.

That's how I remember doing it, but I could be way off. If anyone knows the correct way, could you point me in that direction? In the event that I am doing it correctly, could someone please see if the glitch is working or verify it has been patched?
