LanQuan Williams makes the most sense to me as our KR. Reed is too dangerous, he shouldn't get another chance for the rest of the season, too much on the line. Torrey would be a good KR because of his elite speed but I think he's worth too much to our offense to be gassing himself/risking injury back there. Webb would be my next in line but he's already starting at cb and returning a decent amount of punts, I think he has enough responsibilities as it is. Then you have LaQuan who actually had the big punt return in pre-season and has shown he's a great natural athlete. Plus he's coming off the bench at wr, so he'll be fresh for returns. I trust his ball security more than Reed as well. LaQuan doesn't run with reckless abandon like Reed, it will amount to more conservative returns, but he's not gonna cough up the rock.

The poll includes everyone I though made some sort of sense. Feel free to post if I didn't include who you'd pick

I picked Tandon Doss, that way he'd be active and we could use him in the passing game, he has great hands and the only reason he hasn't been seeing the field is because he doesnt do enough on special teams to beat anyone out

so sit david reed and get tandon doss up

having good hands doesn't make you a nfl ready receiver

Tandon was considered the more polished and NFL ready receiver out of anyone else we drafted..and Torrey is doing okay so far, Doss has better hands

and Harbaugh said its a numbers game and the reason Doss isnt active is because other guys offer more on special teams...thats why i think if he did some special teams and then also he could play on offense and actually catch some balls

everyone is dropping a lot of balls, its like its contagious

David Reed for free agency!
i doubt it, he needs to shape up though

i still like him but he did cost us that game and that could cost him his job at least temporarily until the coaches think he's got his head right

he's the best KR we have

I remember when the final 53 was a few days out we had a dicussion about Anthony Allen vs. Parmalee. avens cut Parmalee and he was a decent returner.

I voted for A.A. but what is his current status ? injured ? practice squad ? I'm not sure.

The Ravens also picked up & then cut McCann (cowboys) a few weeks later and he was a returner.

I would hate to see us use Ladarius Webb or Chris Carr in fear of injury.

Anthony Allen is on the active roster, the 53 but the past few weeks he's been injured and not active in any games

McCann was cut , Chavis Williams? was brought up from practice squad and everones favorite son Josh Bynes was signed to practice squad

I voted for Doss. He was a weapon as a KR at Indiana, and I think we used him back there in the preseason (correct me if I am wrong). I also would like to see him get some snaps on offense. Q2 has been allrite, but he hasnt really shown me anything to suggest he has the #3 WR on lockdown. I want Doss to be given a chance.

I was referring to Bryan McCann who we picked up from the Cowboys article link

I agree. As much as I hate Reed for fumbling against the Seahawks, he is the best returner we have. We have very few other options to return kicks, who dont have significant roles on offense or defense at their respective positions.

Reed DEFINITELY needs to work on his ball security though.

I gave up on Reed last night but now I think we have to give him the benefit of the doubt and use him. If he screws up again , he's toast , so at least he should be well-motivated. I'd give LaQuan some shots too , though , just to keep him ready to take over.

I vaguely remember Laquan on Kick Returns or punt returns in the beginning of the season. I'm pretty sure he fumbled like twice and took some pretty bad fair catches. Although I think Reed's performance was just terrible compared to Laquan. I'd like to see Doss take a shot at it, even if he isn't the fastest guy on the field.

There is no way David Reed is the best option at kick returner for this team. Lardarius Webb, Ed Reed, Zbikowski, and sadly... even Chris Carr would be better options.

But here's the BOTTOM LINE on this whole situation. WHOEVER ends up returning kicks...

IF YOU CATCH THE BALL IN THE END ZONE... TAKE A KNEE.

We've taken the ball out of the end zone and gotten stopped before the 20 yard line this whole season.

The Ravens are way too stubborn to give up on a player THEY drafted... even if it's clearly time to admit they were wrong on evaluating the talent. Far too many examples of this for me to believe they'll cut David Reed at any point this season.

very true. especially when you are 7 or so yards deep. i am scared every time anybody takes it for a run when they are that deep in the end zone ...what do you get? 25 yards. well then you are at the 18-20 yard line that what you get with a TB but without the turnovers!!!!

Anyone pining for Laquan doesn't remember how poorly he did on returns when given a shot earlier this year. Fire up your DVR and really look or look at the links I dug up below. He has one punt return for no yards and 5 kick returns with 2 fumbles.

I agree that Reed hasn't been as consistent this year but Laquan isn't the answer either. Special teams is are achillies heal this year.

What the heck happened to Bryan McCann? We signed him for what thought was to return kicks...but then we cut him? I don't understand the logic behind that. We could certainly use a different face returning for us.

I know most of you don't like starters on Special Teams, but this year, Special Teams is losing games for us and its obvious that we need more talent out there. For that reason, I vote for Torrey Smith.

Smith is easily the best kick returner on the roster, and he was a two time All ACC selection at Kick Returner. None of these other options even have one college all conference special teams award or gotten an NFL All-Pro nod at that position. The only one who's close is Chris Carr, who would be my second choice.

I am putting my money on David Reed returning kicks on Sunday....it would make too much sense to have someone else back there.
