Do We Really Have A Superbowl Team? Or Just Posing As One?

130 posts in this topic

After our performance in Seattle against a really bad team and thinking of our losses to the Titans and lowly Jags. And after considering our last second victory against an awful Cardinal team I have come to the conclusion we are not a true Superbowl contender and just a bunch of posers. We wont make the playoffs this year. What a hype and wasted of emotion!

At this point they are nothing more than pretenders, hate to say it but they are not consistent enough to do anything in the playoffs

If we make the playoffs we will be 1 and done...just like every year, it blows my mind..how did this team change, the personality changed..we never used to sleep on teams

On the plus side, I don't think there's any team in the AFC that is a true contender. They all have shown signs of being brittle and beatable. It's still ours for the taking if we can figure out what the **** is wrong. Unfortunately, there's also about six other teams that can say the exact same thing.

Another plus: I think the AFC North may get both wild cards just for the simple reason that the second best in every other division could wind up with close to .500 records or worse.

I dont know...I still think the Steelers or Patriots will get on track

..I know our defense will bounce back, but since we have a sorry run game right now, we need the receivers to catch everything thrown their way and there is way too many drops....I know Joe missed on a few throws but its hard to get into any kind of rhythm the way we are playing

and our special teams i last in the league or something, not good

Right now we are posers.

Not saying we are done, but 9 games into the season, we look like an elite team one week, and a bunch of overly confident bums the next.

The team has way too many veteran leader to keep losing to these inferior teams.

Do the Ravens have the talent for a Super Bowl team? Yes
Do the Ravens have the coaching to lead to a Super Bowl? No.
Are the Ravens consistent enough to reach the Super Bowl? No.
Are the Ravens disappointing this year? Yes.
Will the Steelers more than likely win the north this season? Yes
Will the Ravens beat the Colts? After losses to the Jaguars, Titans and Seahawks ... probably not.

As much as I'd like to say yes to most of those questions, I think we all know we'd be lying to ourselves. It's really hard to remain faithful in this years squad. I have dropped all faith I have in this years squad. Bring on next season.

I will say this though -- I do hope they prove me wrong.

I agree with a lot of that but fortunately, I think Indy will be the only true gimme--for the simple reason that I think they've given up. I've never seen an NFL team that has put forth less effort or desire than them. If this was the XFL, they would have their #1 draft pick stripped from them.

And as bitter as it may sound, I am relishing every minute of it. Serves them ******* right.

I thought Seattle was a gimme, they had no QB, they had the worst OL in the league and we made them look really good

so no, im not so sure we beat the Colts...the Ravens need to show me, from now on I'm assuming we are going to lose, especially this week against Cincy

You all seem to be completely negative right now, and I get that. However, there is clearly a lot of talent on this team and if they can get focused there is no reason why they cant win the SB. NE has its warts and we already beat Pitt twice and Houston. We have beaten every good team that we play and thats not a fluke. Our 3 losses have come on the road and I think that is not a coincidence. I fully expect a bounce back game at home against Cinci that will once again put us in the driver's seat. We have winnable games the rest of the schedule as long as the team shows up, that includes the coaches whose play-calling and decision making left a lot to be desired this past Sunday. The mistakes that have let us down are fixable: get back to a balanced offense. Dont turn over the ball, especially in our own territory. And get back to a more aggressive defensive gameplan. This is far from a lost season, but if you all want to bail on it I could care less. I still have faith in the Ravens.

the Eagles have a lot of talent too, they are 3-6

the Ravens haven't proven to be consistent, thats the problem..

I totally agree with everything you said except for the talent part. We have some really good talent on this team with some true hall of famers but we are lacking talent in the secondary, coaching and in collective spirit. The great teams find a way to win the games we lost. Time to get my emotions in check and starting thinking about next year!

i dont think the secondary is the problem, it wasnt yesterday at least..Webb and Cary played well broke up multiple passes..the problem is when the DL gets ZERO pressure on the QB when the Seahawks had one of the worst OLs in the league..no sacks, so it doesnt matter how good your secondary is if the QB isnt getting pressured, guys will eventually get open on us

Well we aren't 3-6. We are 6-3. That's a big difference. We have also beaten all the top teams in the AFC, so clearly we are capable of at least getting to the SB. Inconsistency is a problem, but we are winning the big games. I would rather be 6-3 with wins over the Jets, Steelers, and Texans than be 6-3 without beating any quality opposition. I find it funny how quickly everyone gives up on the team while we still are in the driver's seat to not only win the division but potentially take the #1 seed.

I';m sorry but I would rather be 6 and 3 and lost to the Steelers and Jets than to have lost to the teams we lost too. It's a freakin embarrassment to all of us!

its not good, the Steelers are right there and will probably win out...so we have to win out to win the AFC North..lets just assume that...we have games against the Chargers who aren't playing well...OH NO!! The Browns and Colts...and twice agains the Bengals...its going to be tough to win out, we might make it as a wild card

That's just wrong because of tiebreakers. Yes, it is embarrassing, but I'd rather beat the good teams to at least have it matter in the playoff picture. Unfortunately, we play a lot of "bad" teams this season.

I wouldn't. Technically speaking, this Seattle lose means the least out of all possible losses. Our AFC and AFCN W/L is more important.

Ok I think we need to look raly hard at Flacco and Cam I put the blame on them. they just had nothing flat all day no spark had one last week nothing thi week why. Why did we not punish these guys with Rice, Leach and williams?? we got bewteen Leach and Williams the ability to smash up deffense then let rice bounce around ad run deep or drop a bomb to T smith why do they not do it???? Sad day for Ravens

If we were beating the teams were supposed to beat (jags, titans, sehawks) and lost to the teams we were supposed to lose (steelers, houston, jets) then people would be complaining how we cant beat good teams. Atleast were being consistent in losing to the " SUCKY" ones hehe :-) Bright side were still undefeated at home and against division.

if u watched the game you'd know who to blame, but once again this is like some sick disease people have...if a team loses the QB gets too much blame, if the team wins he gets too much praise

Flacco wasnt at fault for yesterdays performance and I honestly dont see how u could blame him...

All these negative threads and posts are more upsetting to me then the 3 loses. Jesus, we beat the steelers 2 times, beat the jets and houston, but eveybody is acting like we're the worst team in the afc.

We win out and we are the #1 seed, we're not 3-6 people

do u think we will win out? we need to if we want to win the AFC North because I bet the Steelers will win out..so that means we are a wild card again if we make the playoffs

its not that we have 3 losses....its that we lose to the worst teams in the league and its the pattern thats emerging thats got me upset, we win a big game and dont respond well to that emotional high, we come out flat

its about consistency

Seattle has the best home field advantage IMO. Jackson played like the QB Minnesota had thought they were getting with him. Clean up the ST play and we win that game.
