I Thought The Ravens Drafted Doss Because Flacco Liked Him

That's why we have Dickson and Pitta. Laquon hasn't been bad either and the coaches don't seem to think Doss is ready otherwise they would have started him over an undrafted Free agent.

There's bigger fish to fry on this offense.
This begin as Doss replacing Reed on Kick-Offs it spun into Reed hasn't performed as WR anyway so at least if Doss is activated as a Returner maybe he could make an impact " get a few catches" at WR... It is unlikely regardless if he is activated because we rarely run 4 WR sets.... Also Dickson and Pitta are great but sometimes team need different personnel packages to pressure the defense into substituting.... Not saying Doss would cause this offense to come together but all the complements about his hands, lack of separation by WRs on most routes anyway and all the drops every game, maybe this "slow, sure-handed WR could make a couple of big 3rd down receptions"

I heard that Doss has been inactive because he doesnt contribute on special teams, while D. Reed and LaQuan do. Still, I would like to see him on the field. He would be a good #3 WR, and he has had experience returning kicks. Take David Reed out and give Doss a shot returning kicks.

Because this coaching staff has done so much to inspire confidence. I have always thought Cam inept and the longer Harbaugh acts like he isnt the problem the more frustrated people are going to get with him. Not to mention for a ST coach ours sure is in the toilet.

Well. Let's not forget that we're still 6-3 here and there's still a lot of football to be played. I say we give it a few more weeks before we start throwing harbaugh under the bus.

6-3 when realistically we should be 9-0 does not sit all that well.

It's always easy to say that. We could easily be 4-5 right now with our last-minute wins against the Cardnals and Steelers. We're still a top contending team in this division and with a win over Cincy, we're right back in the drivers seat again.

I want LaQuan to return kicks. He's one of the fastest on our team. Torrey Smith will most likely be back there some if Evans comes back next week. Hopefully we can see Doss some. I doubt it with Cam as our coordinator. I was so jealous watching the packers last monday night. I know Joe isnt Aaron Rodgers but he's alot better then what his numbers show. I dont think we'll see the real Joe until Cameron leaves sadly

Ugh.. more Doss talk again. This isn't the solution to our offense guys.
really because no one said he was? lol

fact is the guy has earned his playing time over reed to the best of my knowledge. Doss has the best hands on the team and we're struggling with drops.. This guy has shown he can climb the ladder and make big plays (pre-season). Besides the STL game I don't remember Doss getting a single snap. No one's asking for him to start. Just work him in and and at least give him a CHANCE to show us what he can do. He was considered the most pro-ready wr this year outside of Green and Julio. The fact that Joe wanted him is only more reason to get him on the field.

Yeah we could be and we damn sure shoukdnt be we have a dumb oc and a spineless hc. If we were 4-5, that would erase all doubt about the problem, that is why even those taking heads finally get it as dumb as they are.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to disagree with everything you just said (respectfully of course).
1."the guy has earned his playing time over reed"
-Reed has gotten like, 3 snaps this season on offense. 3rd and 4th wide receivers generally HAVE to contribute on special teams to receive any sort of playing time. Reed was a beast on KR last year with flashes of production on WR. Clearly, Doss does not offer the skill sets to contribute to an already below-average special teams.
2." Doss has the best hands on the team"
-You know this for a fact? Last time I checked Pitta, Dickson, and Boldin had pretty good hands.
3."shown he can climb the ladder and make big plays (pre-season)."
-I seem to remember this board absolutely dropping the hammer on Torrey Smith for his preseason woes, and boom what happens?
4."considered the most pro-ready wr this year outside of Green and Julio"
-link?

Bottom line: I trust the coaches will take advantage of Doss's skill sets when their ready, which don't seem to include special teams. As of now, I'd say we're pretty talented at receiver as is with Boldin, Torrey, Dickson, Pitta, Laquon, and Rice.

Your guess is as good as mines.

I know Harbs has something against rookies, but Williams is activated every game.....

Untill they Fire Cameron and Harbaugh, This team will continue to underperform. Give Tomlin, Macarthy or Billecheck this team 3 years ago and we would have atleast 1 more superbowl.

Doss is going to leave Baltimore with no career interceptions, we're like a black hole for WR's.
Who knows, maybe Harbs will pull a Belichick and play Doss at CB

I'm still thinking Cam. Doss doesn't have speed, therefore won't contribute much to the deep passing game, therefore Cam doesn't want to play him. I bet if Cam had his wish Lee Evans would be healthy and would replace Boldin, then He would have 2 WRs with speed and he could call up 50 yard bombs all day.

We have been more aggressive using the shotgun and diesel more often. Flacco throws more, but this results in more drops.. Doss has sure hand and is good over the middle. So is Boldin. Why did we draft him? Boldin is getting older, as was Mason, and Doss represents another option if he gets injured. You don't need too many possession receivers on the field. Having Mason and Boldin didn't guarantee us a victory over the Steelers last January. The Ravens should be using him more to work him into the lineup. I think we will see him more as the season moves on. Let's play him against the Browns and Colts. That's if we get a lead rather than trail like in the 3 losses to teams with losing records.

I agree but dropped passes has also plagued us and Doss was supposed to be as sure handed as any.

Doss isn't playing because he isn't ready and doesn't provide enough to the table to be a 4th receiver. Said it a million times. Same reason Kindle isn't playing just at linebacker.

We will never know if he is ready if we don't give him some playing time. I think that he should play against teams such as the Browns and Colts.

He's not very tall and Flacco tends to overthrow our receivers. Sure handed receivers will always have a place in the NFL. Doss needs to study under Boldin, hit the weight room, and study game tape. He will be in more by the end of the year.

I'm 95% certain Doss suits up tomorrow. Reed will be chained to Harbs's doghouse for a few weeks, at least.

Webb for kick returner.

Three receiver sets with a tight end that can catch. Rice will never see 25 carries again.

Doss doesnt play because the role he would be used in is filled by Dickson/Pitta. Doss likely wont see the field until Boldin/Evans move on. Doss is going to be the possession guy to Torrey's vertical threat down the road.

Dickson has bad hands? Really? True that Anquan has dropped some but he is as reliable as they come. Don't judge players by preseason performances; Torrey has vastly outperformed anybody's expectations and to think that Doss will come in and do more than Torrey is doing is suspect thinking

He obviously hasn't shown enough in practice for us to even give him a chance in games. Don't show it in practice, then you're not going to get time.

I think Doss should be in there just because I think we should be running more 4 and 5 WR sets. It would force defenses to have to gameplan differently. Doss would also be a great receiver in the redzone because of his height.

Webb for kick returner.

I'm not too sure about that. I'd rather have a competition between LaQuan, Doss and Torrey to see who does best. Webb is still our best CB right now and I do not want to see him go down.

I'd much rather have Dickson on the slant in the red zone than Doss. Better yet, how about using the jumbo package and handing off to Rice.
