Ravens Drop The Ball Again...

50 posts in this topic

As bad as we played today, we only lost by 5 points.....we missed 2 field goals, and David Reed fumbled twice in our end of the field.

The offense never got on the field it seemed like in the first half....and in the 2nd half when they finally got into the endzone and needed the ball back to try and take the lead the defense once again could not get off the field. This needs to stop, for once I can say the offense wasnt the reason for a loss

A few drives were stopped because of dropped balls, was Joe accurate on every pass? Could he have thrown some better balls? sure....but we dont have a run game right now and when guys drop balls on EVERY DRIVE its kind of hard to get into any kind of rhythm

We lost by 5 and we could have won still..as bad as we played, we could have won..if Billy makes those FGs...if David Reed doesn't fumble for the 3rd time in 2 weeks, if the defense get a stop...we could have won but we didn't

For whatever reason this team is in the habit of playing down to the competition and at times we play worse, they came out uninspired, the Seahawks have the worst OL in football, their QBs get sacked the most in the league...they are starting rookies and backups!!! Are you mad? Well, take it out on the play of the DL !!! They stunk it up big time..its embarrassing, its no wonder we get no respect, we dont deserve it

I truly believe if the defense got a stop Joe would have drove us down the field...but Im not so sure we could have caught the ball for him...Torrey, Boldin, Pitta, Dickson, Rice....I think all of them had drops, I know most of them did

Joe did what he could without a run game and with his receivers dropping balls, the OL was doing its job though so thats good..Ben Grubbs makes a huge difference

David Reed killed us today, Billy lacks accuracy from 50 and beyond...honestly I dont know if I'd let him try those anymore, punt it and pin them within the 5 yard line...I'm sure Joe will take a lot of blame again, he had a pass intercepted off a tipped ball....but those things happen sometimes, hell he is having to throw the ball 60 times a game, its sad really....this team is too good to be losing to teams like Seattle, Tennessee, and Jacksonville...good grief

we had limited possessions because of the turnovers, and when we did have the ball dropped passes stalled at least two other drives....just not going to get it done playing like that...i'm so frustrated and now next week we face the Bengals who have a really good defense and a rookie QB who isnt playing like a rookie...sound familiar? the defense needs to play better, the WRs need to work on their hands for real and the run game? i dont see that getting better against Cincy...ughhh its pathetic

almost isn't good enough

I expect more but you don't need to be 14-2 to get to where we wanna go. It are would help though.

Considering how much better this team plays at home it certainly would. And that extra week of rest would sure be nice too.

I agree 100%, scrock. This was flat out embarrassing. I can't believe people were backing David Reed to be the #3 receiver above Torrey Smith. He may not have got it back to the 20, but at least Torrey held on to the ball on his kick return. Thank God I have a great girl friend and that The Walking Dead and Hell On Wheels were on to give me a pick me up. And I don't wanna hear Harbaugh or anyone else say that this team is a contending team. The only reason Jacksonville won today is because they played the Colts. And the Colts will probably beat us because they're a terrible team as well. I say we put David Reed in the dog house (practice squad) and activate Doss. He may not have speed, but he has good hands and used to return kicks in college.

You got the name wrong in your title. I think you meant "Reed dropped ball again". haha
no, a lot of Ravens dropped balls on offense...

it was meant to cover how we lost the game, Ravens dropped the ball..that includes David Reed, but also Billy Cundiff, Torrey Smith, Boldin, etc

he only completed 55% and most of them were short passes, yeah i've seen guys throw a lot of times and not break 300 yards..so what?

if 10 different guys didnt drop balls he would have been over 300, then u could cry about him throwing 60 times and not breaking 400

keep hating, Joe is clutch..he would have brought the team back for the 3rd week in a row if he got a little help

Whats that got to do with "clutch"?

I hate bringing up the past, but a TD pass to Torrey against the Steelers with 8 seconds left is the very epitome of "clutch".

Your argument holds no ground.

How many turnovers does Mr. clutch have this year........ Playing on the same team with the best defense in the league. Yardage is not my concern, my concern is all the over and under throws he seems to make in the clutch.

Very good point, he has had a clutch moment-- congrats. Clutch would suggest he does that all the time though. Clearly not the case. Argue that seriously . Not trying to be rude though.

The week before against the Cardinals. His last pass attempt yesterday was for a TD. That's just this year.

he's throwing INTs at a lower rate than last year and he's throwing it way more, why? because he has no run game once again, how can he get into a rhythm in a game like yesterday when guys are dropping balls ? their defense knew we were throwing it every down and were jumping the snap count all day, it was stacked against him and he still had a chance to bring us back, he still had a chance to overcome all the mistakes made by the special teams unit

you obviously just dont like Flacco, because yesterday wasnt his fault...and before that he had only won us two games in a row, bringing us back against Arizona..the biggest comeback in Ravens history, and that last second TD against the Steelers

yeah, you are going to hate on Joe no matter what, blame Joe because his guys dropped balls to stall drives, because there is no run game, because the defene coulsnt get to the QB or stop them when it mattered, because Billy missed FGs...6 points that would have won the game

you have no argument dude

I always thought "clutch" implied delivering when its needed most, in the very moment a play is needed most. Roethelesberger plays a lot of crappy games, but finds a way to win them, making him clutch.

Moments sorry, can i start the one's where his play cost us the game? Didn't he fumble in the cardinals game too. In fact until last night he fumbled in every game this year minus one or two. Clutch? wow what a stretch.

he beat the Steelers defense last year too in Pittsburgh, no Ben didnt play but the Steelers defense did

he brough us back against Atlanta at the end of the game but the defense let him down and Roddy White got the TD

Joe has won us games before, like in the playoffs against the Chiefs, he killed them all game long and we had no run game so we needed him and he came through again

just admit you are a hater, you are not objective at all, if u were you would be able to watch a game and see whats real

actually that wasnt the argument, did you read my original post? if u agree with all those points why did u reply about being clutch? u were trying to start talking trash

joe is clutch and he has proven he can do it, does he do it every time? no, no QB does...most of the time Joe's team is to busy winning so he's not in the position to have to bail out the team every week

Being "clutch" isn't playing mistake-free, it's getting it done when you need to get it done. Flacco has done that plenty of times in his career, he's come up short sometimes but so does every single QB ever.

yup

and sometimes he's been clutch but the defense let him down, well maybe that doesnt happen often but it did in Atlanta and I remember no one gave him credit, he drove down and got the TD, threw for 3 TDs in the 2nd half after the team got off to a slow start, Ryan was praised as the next big QB and Joe got no respect...

Indeed, Josh Wilson and the infamous Roddy White push-down. Same with Hauschka (don't care enough to check the spelling) in Minnesota and some of the more horrendous drops we've seen in our tenure here. Still, people won't remember those instances because we, as a team, didn't get it done.

Unfair or not, that's how the NFL is. QB and HC get a ton of credit when they win, they're dirt when they lose. We've done a lot more winning than losing around here, though. You don't consistently win games for four years with a crappy QB and HC.

oh yeah i forgot about the Vikings game...you're only clutch if you win i guess

The point of this topic was about dropped balls, 'ravens drop the ball again' means another loss to a lesser opponent, fumbles, missed FGs, dropped passes.

this clutch topic, i think he was referring to my topic after last weeks win

Yeah, "My QB is clutch" and he was and he is. I said it in that thread but the same dude that lights up the Steelers, Texans, and Cardinals is the same one who will struggle against the Jets and Jaguars. He's a freaking winner and he's clutch way many more times than not.

IDK what to make of dropping all of these games. Harbaugh's first three years were defined by trampling lesser teams. We had issues with closing out teams in 2010 and now, in 2011, we can't even get ahead of them on the scoreboard. Needs to be corrected, we need to stack wins.

yeah, in all three losses turnovers cost us...we literally fumbled the game away yesterday

its like coming off a big win, they entire team was feeling a little too good about itself and now they've been smacked back down a notch...so hopefully next week they come out playing great again
