Jimmy Smith

To say jimmy isn't performing at practice is mosf likely inaccurate. He was actually supposed to start week 1 before he got hurt on st. So obviously he practiced well enough to beat out all the other corners on this team. Not to mention, he has showed the best coverage skills on the team with every play he has gotten in on.

Aj green will beat webb next week, there's no doubt. Jimmy has already proven he can completely shutout green. Let him play and stop wasting his season

The exact reason the "practice" play is a joke for JSmith. Gorrer was beyond solid in actual game time, but sits because Carr is healthy. Theres no way Carr's practice or game tape is better than Gorrer's. But JSmith doesnt play because his "practice play" may not be as good as Carr's? Thats a total crock, Carr shouldnt even be in the nickel right now anyway if we were going off actual game/practice play.

Well, the time to start Smith at corner was last Sunday. I don't think he's ready for the Bengals yet. I think that he would be starting if he didn't get injured.

Money talks... Ozzie dished out waaaay too much cash to Carr a la Foxworth and to sit him would be acknowledging another free agent CB mistake... that's the only thing I can think of right now.

That's absolutely what it is, look how long it took before the more-deserving Cary Williams to get the starting nod over Foxy. Our coaches seem to have a tendency to do that at times it seems.

I liked what I saw out of Gorrer as well in his spot duty but I don't think he is up for anything more than that, yet. Smith, however, I see absolutely no reason to further risk injury by putting him on ST. His college career should've proved enough to the coaching staff that he is able to step into the starting role, he shouldn't have to prove his worth on ST.

Give him experience now against AJ Green because Jimmy is going to have to deal with this guy for a looong time

What the hell does tackleing or blocking on special teams have to do with being a shut down corner or any skilled position? Why does any1 have to play ST to get to there starting role or any important role they were drafted or signed for? Plain stupid!!

Hate to say this, but I'm really questioning the coaching staff's decisions.

The Jimmy should at minimum be our NB, and fighting it out with Cary for the starting spot.

Kindle and Kruger should be getting most of the reps that JJ is getting.

We are throwing the ball LITERALLY 5x more than than we ran it today.

Doss is nowhere to be seen, even though Laquan has shown very little.

Vonta Leach is out there catching passes instead of paving the way for Rice (oh yeah, that's right, we need to RUN the ball once in a while for Leach to do his job).

We need to seriously re-evaluate this coaching staff, from the top down, starting with Harbaugh, and make the appropriate adjustments

Not sure I agree with you that Kindle should be in for JJ at this point. Especially if he's not even activated most of the time. There's obviously more that he needs to learn.

Good point... Gorrer did play well coming off the practice team, but now he is chopped liver also...... I'm hoping J.Smith finally sees some PT soon
