I Think We'll Be Alright

51 posts in this topic

It's good to see this thread here. Here's my take on it:

If you could have picked a game to lose, well, this would have been it. Out of division, out of CONFERENCE, and it sets our mind right for next week - must win against Cincy, everybody knows it. We win next week and the Ravens are the King in the North. Winter is coming.

I'm not happy about the loss, obviously nobody (who doesn't live in Pittsburgh/Seattle/Cincinatti) is. But next week is when the real desperation mode sets in. If we lose next week, you can start inching towards that panic button. Maybe break the glass covering and get your pressin' finger ready. Next week is more important than this week was. It would have been nice to win this week, we didn't, oh well.

Last year:
They had a Pro Bowl QB...we don't this year.
They had better receivers than we do right now.
They had competent coaches...we definitely don't this year.
They were balanced on offense and defense...we're not so far this year.
2 of their losses (Lions and Patriots) came when Rodgers was out with a concussion.
They had a ton of people on IR at key positions last year and still won the Super Bowl. If that happened
to us I doubt we would make the playoffs.

Right NOW we shouldn't be compared with what the Packers did last year.

You're missing the point, all teams face adversity... even the Champs.. Just as an example.... many teams have had tough points in the season to go on and win it all. Actually, how many overpowering ( regular season) teams actually WIN the superbowl? I'm talking about a team that has fewer then 3 losses. I can't think of many in recent years.

Thats what separates us. Rodgers is out of control, point blank. With Rodgers we're not losing more than 1 or 2 games a season.

With Rodgers, nobody's losing more than two games this season. That isn't fair. It's like saying, if we had Jesus Christ playing quarterback, we'd be in good shape.

Joe's the guy. Anybody who can move the ball ninety-two yards in Pittsburgh is the guy. Point blank.

I have lowered expectations for this team moving forward, we let the Steelers back into the division race and honestly our schedule is tougher the more I look at it, the 49'ers, Chargers, Bengals twice...Browns...

this team doesn't know how to be consistent so im not even sure we make the playoffs as a wild card

Matt Schaub is out for season according to ESPN and they were looking like possible top seed contender in AFC, We already hold a head to head win over them also so this eases things up for us some, unless Matt Leinart plays well......

I still believe we can win both games vs the Bengals and the Browns, the Colts should be a win unless Peyton Manning decides to have his seemingly annual game against our defense.....

Best thread on the forum right now and this loss don't make me mad either seeing how we loss ( 2 fumbles, a tipped pick, two missed field goals ). Now, if we lost this game like we been traditionally losing this season ( Cam playcallin or Joe QB play ) I would be mad .

I'm not missing the point at all. I understand that the Pack started off 4-3 and ended up winning the Super Bowl (as a wild card team). I get it. But if you're going to mention that it can be done (like the packers did last year), you can't have that discussion without mentioning how they done it and who they done it with. That's all I'm saying.

You also, can't leave out that the Ravens are FAR ahead of that schedule...

I think the team will be but this has been brewing since last season as far as Harbaugh is concerned. Honestly, I think Harbs is catching hell mostly for he allegiance to Cam. If you look most of the angry one are mad at the fact Harbaugh is still allowing Cam to call games like this after he said he would be working closely with the offense.

At the 7 game point the Pack was 4-3 (last year) and we were 5-2 (this year). I wouldn't consider 1 game FAR ahead.
At the 9 game point compared to last year we had the same record, 6-3. So I think you're a little off with the FAR AHEAD
comment.

You're right, far ahead wasn't correct.

I want to provide people with a newsflash. We beat the Cardinals and the Rams at St. Louis. What's the point? Well it means we've beaten bad teams this year. You can say that that is our achilles heel, but it's not like we've lost to EVERY bad team we've played. Not every game against a bad team is a guaranteed trap game.

It only seems to be after big wins, every time Harbaugh has said how the game next week is just as important as beating the Steelers. The players just can't get through their heads that every game is important no matter what their record is.

Growing pains, this team will get better. Only the Ravens beat the Ravens. This will get better. Perfect storm today, tunrovers, missed FG'S and poor defense..... too much to overcome.

actually that is true!!!!

I definently think we should be undefeated right now, there is no way we shouldve lost to the titans, jags, or the seahawks. We play big against big teams like the jets, steelers, houston and the cardinals, but we dont show up with any game performance on teams that have losing records. Ravens need toi get their head on straight and start running the ball. Rice may get stopped but he will adjust and play his game like he has always done for us. im not very worried about the bengals, but i am however worried about the 49ers bc they look strong and the way we are playing im also concerned about the colts seeing that we lose to every losing record team we face..

We lost on the road to bad teams, we have the Colts at home so I'm not worried about them. With what we've been doing this season, I'm more concerned about the Browns game because we go there after a big game with the 49ers.

The Seattle game disgusted me but I think we lost because of the turnovers. You can't turn the ball over in your own territory 3 times and expect to win. Even with those turnovers, if Cundiff makes those FGs we win. If the defense gets off the field just once in that 5:52 left in the 4th, I think we win. My concern was how dead we looked as a team. If we have jet lag that bad then next time we need to fly out earlier so we can get over it.

True, but we have a 10 day gap between those games.
