I was thinking the exact same thing...
Same. I don't want to look ahead too much but I can definitely see Dwight Freeney having a day against McKinnie...

Due to yesterday's loss, the Scoreboard Generator has self-corrected it's earlier predictions, now sitting at 8-1 on the season. Here's what it says for this week:

Ravens have a 55.5% chance of winning this game, which is good considering it only gave them a 52.7% and 52.2% chance in the Steeler games. In the Ravens' three losses it gave them 49.1% (Titans), 49.2% (Jaguars) and 50.2% (Seahawks).

Here are the predicted totals for this week's game against the Bengals:

Ravens: 21-points, 2-Passing TDs, 1-Rushing TD
200-yards Passing, 125-yards Rushing

Bengals: 18-points, 2-Passing TDs, 1-Field Goal
200-yards Passing, 90-yards Rushing

(Please note, these numbers are being rounded. If you want the actual data from the generator, see below.)

Ravens: 21.9-points, 13.4-points Passing, 8.5-points Rushing
203-yards Passing, 126-yards Rushing

Bengals: 17.6-points, 12.2-points Passing, 5.4-points Rushing
204-yards Passing, 92-yards Rushing

It's hard for me wanting to have faith in this team currently, but with this game being in Baltimore, I have faith in the Ravens fan-base that the flock will not allow them to lose.

If this game was on the road, I'd say they'd lose.

We really need to get the offense in sync before the game next week. There is no way that I would let Reed return kickoffs any more this year. We need to activate Doss and sit him a week to show him that he cost us the game with his slippery fingers.

No shot we beat the Bengals, their front 4 is going to eat our Oline for breakfast. Flacco still doesnt know how to read Marvin's version of the cov 2, and Suggs can NEVER beat Whitworth on the left side.

Yeah I am legitimately worried about the Colts pass rush. I can see them having a big day against our offensive line.

Pittsburgh is on their BYE so if we beat the Bengals we are 1st place in the division.....

but still, dropping these games to bad teams will bite us in the butt later on...its not a good sign going forward, i have lowered expectations for this football team this year

Carlos Dunlap is going to give our passing game serious problems... well more serious.
i dont know, our OL played really well yesterday...CIncy lost Hall, their top CB, for the season yesterday...so their secondary will be weaker

at home, we should be able to beat the Bengals...Ed Reed needs to start playing better and pick off the rookie QB for a score

our run game definitely won't be getting on the right track against the Bengals, so I do think it will be on Joe and his receivers to make plays..Im worried about all the drops

Dunlop is actually out, but they still have multiple linemen with 3 or more sacks, and while their secondary has taken a hit it's that dline that is really powering their 5th ranked defense.

We are going to blow them out, Joe and Cam has gotten the 4-3 D figured out now ( got behind so couldn't really show it with the Seahawks ). I know people are probably swearing at me right now but with how our season is going, we come ready to play for the good teams and the opposite for the bad teams. Whatever the point spread is, I'm taking the Ravens, especially with us being at home.

Hard to do that when teams go into what I called " safe play calling mode " where they are ahead and their coach see that our O is struggling a tad bit so they stick with that game plan and punt knowing to not open up in fear of our D converting a turnover which will build momentum. This happened with Seattle, happened with the Jags and for the most part, happened with the Cards so how can Ed get a pick when they only throwing the ball around 20 times a game if that and its safe calls and throws at that ( don't have to take any chances sitting on a good lead ).

Maybe we will establish a running game, complete more passes, and put some pressure on the QB. If not, then we lose again.

I have to agree. This is a relatively good team in our house. Them we can and do beat. Its the Browns game in Cleveland that has me worried.

i don´t care if green is out or not. we will have more than enough problems to beat that team. they had our number the last few years and in my eyes are one of the most promising teams for the next few years. they are young on almost every skill position. good defense. we could´t do anything against them last year but turning the ball over.

very good running team. if we play against the run like we did against the seahawks it will again be disgusting! plus their young quarterback is a really good baller. he keeps throwing the ball even if he missed some big ones. they impressed me against the steelers. we don´t have the pass rush the steelers have and even they struggled against their Oline. they are one of the best in the nfl.

so to sum it up: it´s gonna be one of the toughest games in the year. we better win it to stay in the hunt for winning our division!!!

I can't believe you guys.
You're actually legitimately worrying about the Colts (0-10 with THE worst QB in the league) when we have a Bengals game coming up?
C'mon, man. Seriously?

This should be our comeback game in which we get fired up for the home game, pumped up for some excitement by the cheering crowds.
We should run the ball more often. If it has staying power, go with playaction to mix it up.
But obviously, since it's the Bengals, we should be using the Shotgun formation with no huddle if we're struggling. That's where Joe Flacco is at his best (and the WRs).
Defense needs to stay consistent all game and bail out the offense when it struggles, which will happen sooner or later.

We NEED to take advantage of the Steelers' bye week and get the win here to climb to the top of the AFC North. So yet again, we're thrown into a must-win situation because we lost to another losing team, when really we should be part of the elite.

Our defense needs to create turnovers on a more consistent basis. When you are -3 in the turnover margin you aren't going to win most of the time. The Jags and Hawks used the same formula. Play decent defense, press man, get turnovers, and use a fairly generic plan on offense to minimize turnovers. If we reduced our turnovers in each of those games we would have won even despite the offense's miscues.

In this game if we keep the turnovers to a minimum, maybe one we have a good chance of winning. Dalton has been good but I expected him to have some trouble with a tougher defense in the steelers and he did. I think our defense has what it takes to contain him. Also, AJ Green will be hurting at best. A hyper-extended knee is hard to judge so he may sit or he may play but even if he plays he won't be 100 percent.

Cincy definitely has a good pass rush so our o-line needs to play well. I don't expect the running game to be very productive so in spite of that Ray Rice should get his touches with short receptions. I like what the Eagles do with LeSean McCoy. Not sure why we can't do something similar.

I entered this season the same as last season believing we were Super Bowl bound. Poor head coaching and play calling led to our unfortunate demise last year against the Steelers in the playoffs and it could well cost us another run at the Super Bowl. After beating Pittsburgh twice this season, I started to believe we could secure a 1st round bye and a home field advantage, Now I am wondering whether we will even make the playoffs. The second half of this season has started on a sour note. On a positive note, our destiny is still in our own hands but every remaining game is now critical. If we take care of business and win every game, we can still achieve the goals of a 1st round bye and the home field advantage. Just making the playoffs may not be enough to get the job done. Offense sells tickets, defense wins games and coaches win championships. With all due respect to Ray Lewis and Joe Flacco, the buck stops on John Harbaugh's desk. Our losses to inferior teams this year were the result of poor preparation, improper execution and over confidence, each of which result from poor coaching techniques and a lack of discipline. We need to stop blaming our under-achieving players and put the responsibility for winning where it belongs. Put me in coach. I'm 62 but I can field the ball in the endzone and down it w/o fumbling it. At least, we'll maintain possession and get the ball on the 20 yard line.

Turnovers. Pressure on the qb. The games we lose or get down early, we are on the wrong side of both of those two. We need to maybe throw Kindle in the mix or something to get some pressure on Dalton. And there is no excuses to fumble twice in one game....
Speaking of Kindle, what is going on with him? I totally forgot he was even on the team..LOL

If any of you have NFL Rewind, go back and watch the Bengals - Seahawks game...

Cincy was very effective and ran a mixed offense...27 rushes/ 29 passes...

Sure, they scored 14 points off of a kick return and a punt return, but the other 20 points came from sustained drives, using a BALANCE...

Dalton threw two picks....and STILL they managed to beat the same team that WE couldn't beat.

News flash...Tavaris Jackson put up 323 yards against Cincy...so, to say that we lost because Tavaris Jackson took us by surprise, is kind of foolish...unless the coaches thought that Tavaris had a fluke game.

I hate to harp on last week's debacle, but we MUST go into this game with a flexible mindset...RUN and GUN....that is how we have to play the Bengals...Play Flacco from the gun for a few drives....maybe even snap directly to Rice or Williams...

Run a few drives from the split-back formation and toss in a few play-action fakes...and YES....USE the no-huddle offense early in the game on a few drives.

We can win this if we establish Time of Possession....so SLOW IT DOWN!!!

Force Dalton to carry the game on his back and FORCE HIM into passing the ball 50 times...

If we go 3 and out on pass plays, time and time again...THIS GAME belongs to the Bengals...

Hear that HARBAUGH?

This is going to be the hardest week for the Ravens this year. Which is why it would have been really nice to be a game up on the Bengals/Steelers. I have a hard time seeing how a team as inconsistent as we are now is going to be able to beat a good Bengals team on Sunday, then turn around in a short week and beat the 49ers on Thursday. Here's to hoping they can pull it out.

They're both good teams, so we won't overlook them.

That's got to be why we'll win, right?

As even Harbs admitted before the Seahawks game , the 4-3 gives us trouble. After the Seahawks game , it's obvious we haven't solved the problem.

We've averaged about 12 pts/game against the 4-3 , cover-2 type defenses this year , while scoring about 32 pts/ gm average vs. everyone else. That's a 20 point swing in offensive potency.

Yessir , that Cam Cameron is an offensive genius. You betcha.

You can't judge the Seattle game as us having problems against the 4-3. With us falling behind so fast, O had to be sort of one dimensional and they were pretty aight at being one dimensional and life gets easier for any D when you have to be one dimensional, especially sitting on a good lead.

What we need to do is jump out on teams like we were doing in the first 4 games of the season and you will obviously see a big difference in both the O and the D, especially the D. Its hard to generate sacks and turnovers again when teams can go into safe mode b/c of having a decent lead, especially when they see our O struggling. Its like in boxing, the less you have to open up, the less chances of you being hit or knocked out and when you still can beat an opponent and not really open up like Mayweather, you will win most of the time, if not, all of the time.

With how our season has been going, again...... it wouldn't surprise me if we blew the doors on the Bengals.

We didn't have to be one dimensional. Down by 15 , two and a half minutes into the 3rd qtr , is not panic time.

See the post I just put up on the shotgun to see how other teams have come back late from big deficits this year.
