Still Believe In Flacco

34 posts in this topic

I still believe in Joe. It seems like Seattle did some things on defense that our offense wasn't prepared for. But when the adjustments were made, Joe started making it happen, he missed a few more times than I would like, but he isn't perfect. But I think if we got the ball back he would have won us the game for the 3rd straight week.

no need to doubt Joe! but, we can't leave it in his hands alone to win the game. our WRs are just not that reliable to air it out!

Our offense didn't lose this game. Our special teams and defense cost of us this game. Our D got ran over by the same guy they knew they had to stop. I still cannot believe that with around 5 minutes left and all three timeouts our defense couldn't get the ball back for our offense.

This game did nothing to put doubt in Joe. That was just an abomination by the ST and a poor performance by our D (other than them stopping the Seahawks on the fumbles). Plain and simple.

our offense didn't lose the game but they didn't win it either. meaning; the defense held the seahawks to 5 FGs bruh! where was our offense when all of that was going on?

His last pass attempt was a TD. If the D had gotten the ball back, these forums might look a lot different.
You put the last drive on the D, but what about the 3 other drives where the D held the Hawks to a FG after a turnover because of the offense.

Without those 3 stops, you're not even in the game to talk about the last drive. Can't be too harsh on the D.

Edit: Whoops, sorry militant, it looks like I just repeated what you said.

I didn't lose any faith in Flacco from this game. The more concerning thing to me is that we had around 5 drops again. If the D held, I believe we win the game.

Joe Flacco was asked to throw the ball a ridiculous amount of times and had decent stats. This loss is not on him, and with 23 mph wind gusts, a ridiculous amount of dropped balls, and everything else that went against us today there's no way you can pin this loss on Flacco. I'm convinced that if the defense had a stop during those last six minutes that Flacco could have gotten us the W.

No doubt in my mind that Flacco didn't lose us this game. It was two people who lost us this game, Cam and David Reed. Flacco will still win us many more games to come.

Our offense did drop a few balls and joe did throw an int in a very bad spot on the field and he did over throw every receiver at least once each this game as always but that's joe. Not great by any means but he is our QB. The only thing i can say is that it was not pure pressure on him this week that led him to his mistakes it was him that missed some pretty wide open guys where before you could have said it was the pressure.

Let's just accept the fact that we are stuck with Joe and hope he remembers that as well when contract talks come around and he wants elite money for a mediocre arm and decision making.

Seattle moved the ball far too well against us. sure our D held them to field goals after all the turnovers but that is what every team expects their defense to do in that situation.

Far too often in this game we started to get some momentum and our defense could not make a play to get off the field. There is no better example of that than the final drive.

Not putting all the blame on the defense but they deserve some. But when they're at their 20, with almost 6 minutes remaining, at one point 1st + 20, and 3 TOs I completely expected to get the ball back again. Instead, Tavaris Jackson and Marshawn Lynch converted when they needed to.

it's not like Seattle offense was ranked 29th coming into this game or anything , very sad performance.

Yea I would've liked to see the offense get another drive. Looked like we were hitting on a few things, beating their cornerbacks making them draw flags. Its a shame our D couldn't get the ball back when it was deep in their zone.

Joe played bad. But this team played worse. Gave them the ball twice deep in our zone. Dropped passes. Missed FGs.

Still blaming the inept playcalling. If you don't run, you can't sell play-action. When the Steelers won it all in 2008, they threw less than 35 times in all of their wins. Flacco has no business throwing 50 times a game. Almost no quarterback in this league can win that way.

I thought Joe was average at best today. Not much pressure coming his way, had time to throw, didn't make much of his opportunities. Do I agree with the play calling today? Nope. Do I think Joe contributed to the loss? Yep. Threw a terrible pick and his accuracy was way off.

I'm not a Flacco lover but he did not lose this game for us. Not many QBs can succeed when they're being forced to throw 52 times. That's on the OC. If Flacco had a chance to get the ball back I think we would've scored. The offense actually put us in the position to score often, but the STs screwed us over.

The STs is mostly to blame here. We lost by 5. Cundiff lost us 6. Reed gave them 6. Do the math.

no, i still am a fan of him. he gets a lot of hate for his inconsistent play, but honestly he has those games when our whole team plays bad. just like ten. and jax. our team wasnt able to really give him any help

I don't think Joe played bad. When you're forced to throw 50+ times you're rarely gonna get pretty results.

It wasn't the offense that turned it over 3 times, Flacco only had one interception on the deflected ball. But special teams was bad, and offense/defense were bad at times too.

Those 6 points from 2 missed field goals and two David Reed fumbles made a difference. We win if we don't make those mistakes.

Between this game and Jacksonville, Ray Rice carried the ball 13 times. He carried 13 times against Tennessee. When he has 15+ attempts, we've won every game. Less than 15, we've lost every game. I don't feel like we were so far out of this game at any point that we had to pass. Simply put, when the offense is balanced, like I mentioned in an earlier post last week, we win. When it isn't, we lose.

I don't believe this lost falls on Flacco shoulder's it was a combination of coaching and player execuation 3 turn overs no run game and a tired defense at the end of the game. HANGOVER once again and now we fall behind the squeeler's again!!!!!!

seriosuly...I was nervous about getting the ball back last week and it was 3 and out for Pittsburgh. This week I didnt even watch the beginning of the last drive. I went to get a drink at 1st and 20 and fully expected our offense to be on the field when I got back.

LOL....Here we go our Defence did not hold. No way once again our D played more than anybody, and 5 field goals...yeah OK. This O needs to be able to score not just in final minutes but during the "ENTIRE" game. Yes we will have sputters but come on.....The plays for this O are very very poor.

Harbs is letting this team relax way to much. Lets see how many times we here the word "execute from Harbs and the players. How about ..."We need to stop crying about no respect and earn it like other teams do, that does get respect" To inconsistent with this team from Coaching to players.

It was more a bad choice of words by me. I don't think he played bad but he did leave some plays on the field. But so did everybody else. Joe also made some very good throws in this game. And the run on 4th down was key.

Everyone is venting, angry after losing to a team we should have pummelled.

It's not the time to discuss the topic of this thread in a realistic manner. "Still believe in Flacco?" If fans believed in Flacco before the game, after leading the comeback vs. the Steelers, they should still believe in Joe.

Personally, I'm not head-over-heels in love with Flacco. Statistically, he's a lower-tier QB this season... but no one can realistically pin this loss on him; to me, it's unquestionably Cam Cameron's fault. 54 passes attempted, 12 rushes. Passing 82% of the time will not win consistently in the NFL.

Harbaugh shouldn't paint it, "Well, we were behind, we had to pass." Flacco & David Reed will get blamed in the newspaper and on the airwaves this weekend, but Harbaugh should defend Joe publicly - he only runs the plays Cam calls, and no one can run an offense that's directed by this offensive coordinator. Harbaugh ought to place the blame where it belongs... on Cam.
